About Wen Wu Buffet

Wen Wu Buffet is a Chinese restaurant situated at 107 Plaza Dr ste q in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," Wen Wu Buffet offers its services to local users through both a dine-in buffet experience and a takeout option. Based on recent customer feedback, the restaurant presents a mixed picture, with positive remarks regarding its dine-in ambiance and pricing, but significant criticisms concerning the quality of its takeout offerings.

According to one review, Wen Wu Buffet is described as a "small self-service restaurant with an elegant atmosphere." This suggests that the dine-in environment is well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing, potentially providing a comfortable and refined setting for customers choosing to eat at the premises. The same reviewer also noted that while the food selection might not be extensive, the flavors are "quite good," indicating a certain level of quality in the dishes available on the buffet. Furthermore, the prices are mentioned as "reasonable," making it an attractive option for those seeking an affordable dining experience. The reviewer concluded by recommending Wen Wu Buffet as "a great spot for family gatherings," implying that the atmosphere and pricing are conducive to group dining.

However, a contrasting and concerning review details a significantly negative experience with the takeout service at Wen Wu Buffet. This customer, who stated they had tried the place again, described the takeout as "just horrible AGAIN," suggesting a recurring issue with the quality of food prepared for off-premises consumption. The order, totaling $43, included several items that did not meet expectations. The General Tso chicken, typically expected to be crispy, was reported as being "soaked in a liquid and doughy." Similarly, an item ordered as orange chicken was allegedly not what was expected, described instead as more of the same "doughy general tso." This indicates a potential lack of attention to detail in the preparation and differentiation of dishes for takeout orders.

The negative feedback extended to other items in the takeout order. The cheese wontons were described as "old and stale," raising concerns about the freshness of the ingredients used. The hot and sour soup was also severely criticized, being described as "nothing but water" and ultimately thrown out by the customer, who even took a photo as evidence of its poor quality. This suggests a significant inconsistency in the preparation of different dishes for takeout.

Adding to the frustration of the customer who ordered takeout was an apparent error in the order fulfillment despite verbal confirmation. The customer recalled the staff member reading back the order and confirming "orange chicken," yet the received dish was not as expected. This discrepancy between the order confirmation and the actual food received further highlights potential issues with order accuracy and quality control for takeout services at Wen Wu Buffet.

Considering these two reviews, Wen Wu Buffet appears to present a dichotomy in its service quality. The dine-in experience is portrayed as having an elegant atmosphere, reasonably priced food with good flavors (albeit a limited selection), and being suitable for family gatherings. This suggests that dining at the restaurant might be a pleasant experience for those who prefer to eat on-site and are not seeking an overwhelmingly large variety of dishes.

On the other hand, the takeout service seems to suffer from significant quality control issues, as evidenced by the complaints of soggy and mislabeled chicken dishes, stale appetizers, and watery soup. The discrepancy between the expected and received food, even after verbal confirmation, further detracts from the takeout customer experience. This suggests that local users considering Wen Wu Buffet should be aware of this potential disparity in quality between the dine-in and takeout options.

Given the available information, it is challenging to provide a uniformly positive introduction to Wen Wu Buffet. While the dine-in aspect seems to have its merits in terms of ambiance and price, the serious concerns raised about the takeout food quality cannot be ignored. Local users in St. Clairsville, OH, considering Wen Wu Buffet should weigh these contrasting experiences. If the priority is a pleasant dine-in atmosphere and reasonable prices for a potentially smaller selection of flavorful dishes, it might be a viable option, especially for family gatherings. However, those considering takeout should be aware of the reported issues with food quality, accuracy, and freshness. Without further information or more recent reviews indicating improvements in the takeout service, it would be prudent for potential takeout customers to exercise caution. There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews.

Tried this place AGAIN! The take out is just horrible AGAIN. I ordered 43$ worth of food. The General tso chicken is supposed to be CRISPY.It is soaked in a liquid and doughy, the other was supposed the be orange chicken, it is NOT. Its more doughy general tso. The cheese wontons are old and stale! Wth is wrong with this place? She read the order back to me when I was leaving and said orange chicken, again that Order was Not. Even the hot and sour soup was nothing but water. Threw it out but took photo afterward.

The Greatest Chinese buffet I have ever been to, with great prices, amazing employees, and the best food I've ever had at a Chinese buffet, or any buffet for that matter. The restaurant only has one buffet row and a dessert and sushi rack the reason for this is that the quality of the food is amazing, with staff constantly checking and moving food for freshness. They feature some of the best Chinese dishes they can, the sushi is not amazing or anything but is better than any other Chinese buffet.

Looks big from outside but small inside. Tight sitting. Clean though. Food was below average. A lot of modifications. Not as fresh. Smaller selections. Pay first, sit yourself, and then get your food. Not too busy.
