Recent customer feedback indicates a mix of experiences. One update from March 16, 2025, noted that the service was not great, although prices were perceived as lower. This reviewer also expressed disappointment with the food quality compared to a previous visit and mentioned a mandatory tip of 18% for dim sum and 15% for a la carte orders, which they found unacceptable for small groups, leading to their decision not to return.
In contrast, an earlier review highlighted a positive experience with the dim sum, describing it as good and warm. The customer praised the friendly staff who explained the dishes and offered helpful recommendations. They found the service quick and the prices fair for the dim sum.
Another diner and their wife had a pleasant experience, particularly enjoying the Red Dates Chicken feet, Braised Tofu with Black Mushroom and Snow Peas (Hong Suey Tofu), and Eggplant in Special Sauce. They described the Hong Suey tofu as fragrant with crunchy peas and well-fried tofu, and the eggplant as having a nice texture and a flavorful, balanced sauce. They found the chicken feet to be well-prepared and better than those from some restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown.
Points for potential improvement mentioned by a customer include the lack of spiciness in the oily spicy sauce and the need to update prices on the dim sum order sheets.
Wei Wei Palace offers Cantonese cuisine with a focus on Dim Sum. We encourage local users to consider the range of recent experiences when deciding to dine with us.

Update 3/16/25: Service wasn't great. Prices were lower I think. It is not OK to have a mandatory 18% tip in dim sum and 15% a la carte. Tip is optional not mandatory especially is you are 4 or less people! I lowered to 2 stars as the food wasn't great this time. We will probably not come back as we were disappointed compared to last time. We felt they had less options for dim sum. ************ I am not an expert on Cantonese food but it was good, we liked it and was warm. We ordered the dim sum and everything was good. No complaints. They guy was super friendly and explained what was that we orded. We asked him two pick 3 for us and his choices were really good. Service was quick and prices fair for the dim sum dishes. Just check the tip is not charged already because I read that in the sheets. Two things that could improve: 1. The oily spicy sauce was not really spicy. 2. Prices should be updated on the dim sum sheets to show their current price. Especially for those who like to make drama over a dollar or 2.
My wife and I went there this evening and were pleasantly surprised! We had the Red Dates Chicken feet, the Braised Tofu with Black Mushroom and Snow Peas (a.k.a. Hong Suey Tofu), and Eggplant in Special Sauce. Hong Suey tofu - very good fragrant flavor, crunchy peas, tofu well fried, mushrooms are fresh. Sauce is tasty with a slight garlicky flavor. Eggplant - slightly seared and very nice texture. Firm and succulent. The sauce has a nice flavor with a hint of Chinese 5-spice powder, and a slight tangy tinge...almost orange, slightly sweet, slightly salty. Great balance of taste! The chicken feet were very well prepared. It was tasty and fragrant. Not too sweet, neither too salty. The meat was nice and cooked. The marinate was very pleasant to the palate. It certainly is better than the quality we had gotten from several different restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown and Chinatown Square.
Dim sum is so tasty. Roast duck is good. Great experience there. Staff is so very helpful.
It was our first time trying the DimSum here. It was pleasant. For 5 people we got a decent amount of food and it was only 100$!!! I recommend getting the roast duck with some Chinese broccoli on the side. A lady served us and she’s pretty nice. Don’t know why their rating is low but it was good!
Pan fried flat rice noodle with beef (乾炒牛河), Singaporean rice noodle (星洲炒米) and seafood congee were very delicious! Tastes like what you can get in Hong Kong! Tip (18% of subtotal) is added automatically, which does happen at some Chinese restaurants and is not completely unheard of.
