About Wei Mai Xian 味美香

Wei Mai Xian 味美香, located at 6718 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11219, USA, is a Chinese restaurant that primarily serves Fuzhounese cuisine. For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact them at (646) 604-7767 or +1 646-604-7767.

According to customer reviews, Wei Mai Xian 味美香 offers a range of Fuzhounese dishes. One reviewer found the Fuzhounese wonton to be somewhat salty with a limited amount of meat, thus not recommending it. However, they praised the pork bun for its large size and generous filling, and also found the mix beef noodle soup to be good. This suggests that while some dishes may be better than others, the restaurant provides an alternative for those seeking Fuzhounese flavors without traveling to 8th Avenue.

Another highly positive review highlighted the xiaolongbao, describing them as a steamed bun wheat dough style, reminiscent of those first experienced in US and considered "absolutely addictive." The reviewer even noted seeing customers order large quantities (600 at a time), suggesting their popularity and recommending calling ahead for big orders. They also shared a specific way to enjoy them, by taking a small bite off the top and adding a little sriracha.

Furthermore, another customer simply stated that the broth and dumplings were fresh and delicious, indicating a positive experience with these particular items.

Overall, Wei Mai Xian 味美香 appears to be a good option for Fuzhounese food in Brooklyn, with particular praise for the pork buns, mix beef noodle soup, and especially the xiaolongbao. While the Fuzhounese wonton received a less favorable review, the positive feedback on other dishes suggests a worthwhile culinary experience, especially for those craving authentic Fuzhounese flavors locally.

They sell primarily Fuzhounese food here. The fuzhounese wonton was kinda salty and didn’t have a lot of meat. So I wouldn’t recommend the fuzhounese wonton here. But the pork bun was huge and had generous filling. And the mix beef noodle soup was good! So overall pretty good, it you don’t wanna go all the way to 8th Ave for more Fuzhounese food options.

Xiaolungbao are a steamed bun wheat dough style I first had in Taiwan. Absolutely addictive. Saw some folks roll out with 600 of them so call ahead for a big order. Take a small bite off the top and splash a little siracha in there and just leave me tf alone. Soooo goooood. Broth and dumplings also fresh and delicious.

Buns are made with machines and absolutely disgusting. The service and attitude of the lady in the front is also not good.

I am in 100% agreement with the Xiaolongbao review by Wei. It is not the Shanghainese style, but they are still super tasty and cute.

The Xiaolongbao here is actually just a smaller version of the traditional Bao, not the soup dumplings. That being said, it’s still one of the best tasting baos around. I come here and buy the bao in bulk. They freeze/store well and easy to microwave straight out the freezer. This is not designed to be a sit down place, designed for take out and grabbing something quick.
