When choosing a local Chinese restaurant, it's helpful to consider the experiences of other customers. Online reviews can provide a glimpse into the food quality, portion sizes, pricing, and overall satisfaction levels. For Wang's Kitchen, the available reviews offer a mixed perspective, highlighting both positive aspects and areas where some customers found the experience lacking.
One reviewer described Wang's Kitchen as a Chinese restaurant located next to a Food Lion, humorously suggesting a potential correlation between the restaurant's quality and its proximity to the grocery store. This customer found the food to be "pretty good," noting "decent size portions" and a "pretty good" price. They characterized the area as "a little sketchy at times" but ultimately deemed it "worth it to try this place." This review portrays Wang's Kitchen as a "very straight forward, no frills take out Chinese food" option, suggesting a focus on basic, affordable Chinese fare without elaborate presentation or ambiance. The reviewer concluded with a simple recommendation to "Give it a try."
Another customer provided a more detailed breakdown of their experience, using a star-rating system for different aspects. They awarded three stars for the egg roll, four stars for the price, and a generous five stars for the amount of food received. However, the most critical aspect, the taste, received only one star. This reviewer found the sesame chicken and rice to be "really bland." They noted that the sesame chicken had "hardly no sauce" and even the small amount of sauce at the bottom was not good. The rice was described as "flavorless, except for the onions in it." Expressing a disappointment with the lack of flavor, this customer also mentioned a negative experience at another local Chinese restaurant, "Taste of China," and sought recommendations for "great inexpensive Chinese restaurants in Raleigh" from other commenters. This review indicates that while Wang's Kitchen might offer good value in terms of price and portion size, the flavor of some key dishes may be a significant drawback for some customers.
Considering these two reviews, Wang's Kitchen appears to be a budget-friendly takeout option that offers substantial portions of food. The price point is noted as being reasonable, and the quantity of food seems to be a positive aspect for customers. The egg roll received a moderately positive rating from one reviewer. However, a significant concern raised is the lack of flavor in some of the main dishes, specifically the sesame chicken and rice, which were described as bland and lacking in sauce. While one reviewer found the overall food quality to be "pretty good," the other's detailed critique of the taste suggests that consistency in flavor might be an issue, or that the flavor profile might not appeal to all palates.
The environment of Wang's Kitchen is not explicitly detailed in the reviews. However, the description of it being a "no frills take out Chinese food" place located next to a Food Lion suggests a functional rather than an elaborate setting. The mention of the area being "a little sketchy at times" might be a factor for some customers to consider, particularly if they are picking up food after dark. As a primarily takeout establishment, the interior ambiance might not be a primary focus for most patrons.
In terms of services, Wang's Kitchen primarily offers takeout. The reviews do not mention dine-in or delivery options. Customers likely place their orders either in person or over the phone and pick up their food to consume elsewhere. The straightforward nature of the restaurant suggests a focus on efficient order fulfillment for takeout customers.
Features of Wang's Kitchen that can be gleaned from the reviews include its affordability (good price), generous portion sizes (good amount of food), and its location near a Food Lion on Poole Road in Raleigh. A potential drawback, however, is the reported lack of flavor in some of its dishes, such as the sesame chicken and rice. The egg roll seems to be a more consistently palatable item based on the limited feedback.
The provided information does not include any specific promotional details for Wang's Kitchen. As a no-frills takeout restaurant, they might not heavily engage in active promotions. Local users interested in any potential specials or discounts would need to contact the restaurant directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire. It's possible they might offer lunch specials or combo deals, which are common in many Chinese takeout establishments.
In conclusion, Wang's Kitchen in Raleigh, NC, presents itself as an affordable Chinese takeout restaurant with decent portion sizes. It might be a suitable option for those prioritizing quantity and price over a refined dining experience or complex flavors. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the taste of some dishes, particularly the sesame chicken and rice, which have been described as bland and lacking in sauce. The egg roll seems to be a safer bet based on the limited reviews. The "no frills" nature of the establishment suggests a focus on basic takeout service. Local users looking for a straightforward and budget-friendly Chinese meal with generous portions might find Wang's Kitchen worth trying, keeping in mind the reported issues with flavor. It might be prudent to try a few different items to form a comprehensive opinion.

This is a Chinese restaurant that is next to a Food Lion, I think there is some correlation to the quality of food and the proximity of a Food Lion. It was pretty good food, descent size portions and the price was pretty good too. The area is a little sketchy at times but it is worth it to try this place. Very straight forward, no frills take out Chinese food. Give it a try.
Three stars for the egg roll. Four stars for the price. Five stars for the amount of food. One star for the taste. It was just really bland, the rice and sesame chicken. Hardly no sauce on the chicken and the little bit that was at the bottom still was not good. The rice, flavorless, except for the onions in it. I'm so use to flavor. Taste of China disappointed me too! So if you know of any great inexpensive Chinese restaurants in Raleigh please comment. Thanks!
It’s a Chinese restaurant like any other. People tend to forget that. Sometimes they have their bad days and people only remember those. The food here is quick and consistent. I’ve never worried that something didn’t taste the same as last time and that is what every restaurant should strive for. Of course their interior isn’t pretty, but who cares. Their sanitation rating is high, and their food a consistently delicious? That’s all I can ask for.
My wife and I usually go to the Wang's Kitchen off of New Bern, but once we found out this location had Chow Fun..we got excited. Last night we ordered two orders of Chow Fun. It was mushy (sinnly over cooked) and reminded us of oatmeal. In this case the same level of sin (which normally would be more severe) is finding a few large pieces of plastic in the steak chow fun. Disappointed is not even a word. Luckily my wife and/I didn't choke or tear our esophagus on the plastic. Eat here at your own peril.
Standing at the window waiting to have my order taken, I observe a guy putting a pan of wontons in the fryer and he drops one on the nasty floor. He grabs the tongs and picks the wonton on the floor up and throws it in the fryer. All the other cooks look at me. Guy then asks me what I would like to order....NOTHING!!!
