About Wang's Kitchen

Wang's Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant situated at 1030 N Rogers Ln in Raleigh, North Carolina, catering to local residents seeking affordable Chinese fare. As a Chinese restaurant, Wang's Kitchen provides a straightforward menu of familiar dishes, offering options for takeout and potentially dine-in, although specific details about the dine-in experience are limited based on the available reviews.

Regarding the restaurant's environment, one customer noted that "The restaurant was fairly clean but did have a sewerage odor in the air." This is a significant observation that potential diners should consider, as it could impact the overall dining experience. The cleanliness of the visible areas was acknowledged, but the presence of an unpleasant odor suggests a potential underlying issue that might affect customer comfort.

The services at Wang's Kitchen include both online ordering with pickup and presumably in-person ordering for takeout. One first-time customer who ordered online encountered some initial confusion regarding the pickup process. They noted, "...there was no indication that there were two separate lines, one to order and another to pick up, so I waited in the wrong line for about 5 minutes until I noticed others walking up and picking up their orders." This suggests that the signage or instructions for online order pickup could be clearer to streamline the process for customers. The same reviewer also mentioned that "There was only one person running the front and he was very nice," indicating that while the staffing might be lean, the customer service provided by the front-of-house employee was positive.

The features of Wang's Kitchen, as highlighted by customer reviews, include its affordability and generous portion sizes. One reviewer explicitly stated, "Dirt cheap. Simple basic menu. Not fancy but as tasty as any high priced Chinese restaurant. Lunch portion of shrimp lo menu was under $6 and could have fed 2." This strongly suggests that Wang's Kitchen is a budget-friendly option, offering significant value for money, particularly during lunch hours. The menu is described as "simple basic," indicating a focus on standard, well-known Chinese dishes rather than more elaborate or niche offerings.

In terms of food quality, one reviewer found their overall experience to be "ok." They mentioned ordering an entree with a "lightly spicy" request, but noted that "there was no spice at all." This indicates a potential inconsistency in adhering to specific spice level requests. However, they did acknowledge that "the food was ok" and that "portions are decent." This suggests that while the food might not be exceptional or perfectly aligned with specific preferences, it is generally acceptable and provides good value in terms of quantity.

The second reviewer had a more enthusiastic assessment of the food's taste, stating it was "as tasty as any high priced Chinese restaurant," despite the low cost and simple presentation. This suggests that Wang's Kitchen might offer surprisingly good flavor for its price point, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious diners who do not prioritize a fancy ambiance.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Wang's Kitchen in the provided reviews. However, the consistently mentioned low prices, particularly the "lunch portion of shrimp lo menu was under $6 and could have fed 2," can be considered an ongoing feature that acts as a strong value proposition for customers. This affordability, coupled with decent portions, likely serves as a key draw for patrons.

For local users in Raleigh looking for a Chinese restaurant that offers very affordable prices and generous portions, Wang's Kitchen appears to be a viable option. The simple menu focuses on standard Chinese dishes, and at least one reviewer found the taste to be comparable to more expensive establishments. However, potential customers should be aware of the reported issue with a sewerage odor in the restaurant and the possibility of inconsistencies in spice levels for customized orders. The online ordering pickup process might also require a bit of attention upon arrival due to the separate lines.

Despite these drawbacks, the significant cost savings and the potential for tasty food make Wang's Kitchen a contender for those prioritizing budget and quantity. If you are looking for a no-frills Chinese meal that won't break the bank and provides a substantial portion, Wang's Kitchen might be worth considering. For further information or to place an order, you can contact them at (919) 792-0788 or +1 919-792-0788. Weigh the positive aspects of affordability and portion size against the reported environmental concern and potential ordering process confusion to make an informed decision.

This was my first time here. I ordered online, however, there was no indication that there were two separate lines, one to order and another to pick up, so I waited in the wrong line for about 5 minutes until I noticed others walking up and picking up their orders. There was only one person running the front and he was very nice. The restaurant was fairly clean but did have a sewerage odor in the air. I requested lightly spicy for one of my entrees but there was no spice at all. Overall, the food was ok, portions are decent, and the prices were very reasonable in comparison to others.

I was disappointed with my meal tonight. I don’t eat Chinese often but it was the worse. The wings were fried until there was barely skin on them. The oil appeared to be bad because all of my food was hard. The sweet and sour chicken was over fried by the 10th power. I’m just so disappointed because I was looking forward to eating this. It was a waste of time and money! I won’t be returning 😟😟😟😟😟😟😟😟😟😟

I ordered for Peking duck. The price was great $15, but the skin was loose & fatty rather crispy. Lesson learned. It’s a place out N. Raleigh (creedmoor?)that makes it perfect for $25.. idk the name but it’s right next to a gas station
