About Wang's Kitchen
Wang's Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant located at 1601 Cross Link Rd STE 41 in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving the local community with a standard menu of Chinese dishes. As a Chinese restaurant, Wang's Kitchen offers options for both dine-in and takeout. Recent customer reviews provide mixed feedback regarding the food, service, and overall dining experience, highlighting both positive aspects like portion sizes and taste of certain items, as well as significant concerns about dietary restrictions and customer service handling.
Information regarding the specific environment of Wang's Kitchen is somewhat limited. One reviewer noted that "The Place Is Kinda Hidden," which might suggest a less prominent or easily visible location. This could be a factor for first-time visitors to consider when trying to find the restaurant. Beyond this, there are no detailed descriptions of the restaurant's ambiance or décor available in the provided reviews.
The services offered at Wang's Kitchen include both dine-in and takeout. One customer who dined in ordered fried chicken wings with fried rice. The transaction at the counter was straightforward, with the total cost provided. However, the reviewer did note a detail about the menu structure, mentioning that their specific order did not include an egg roll, but "Their Other Dinner Combos Do Come With An Egg Roll." This suggests that the inclusion of sides like egg rolls may vary depending on the specific meal combination ordered. Another significant service aspect highlighted in the reviews is the handling of dietary restrictions and subsequent complaints, which appears to be an area of concern.
The features of Wang's Kitchen, as gleaned from the customer reviews, present a somewhat contrasting view. On the positive side, one reviewer found the "Wings Are Big And Tasty" and noted that they received an "enormous amount of fried rice" for the price of $10.75. This suggests that Wang's Kitchen offers generous portion sizes, particularly for their fried rice, and that at least one of their dishes, the fried chicken wings, is well-received in terms of taste. The pricing for this particular meal was also perceived as reasonable by the reviewer, who gave the overall experience a rating of 7 out of 10.
However, a significant negative feature emerged from another customer's experience regarding a dietary restriction. This reviewer specifically asked for "plain fried rice" but later discovered that it contained pork. This is a serious issue for individuals who avoid pork for dietary, religious, or personal reasons. The customer's attempt to address this by calling the restaurant resulted in being told to return on Tuesday. Upon doing so during their lunch break, they found the restaurant closed. This series of events highlights a severe lack of attention to detail regarding dietary requests and a failure in customer service follow-through, leading to extreme disappointment and a declaration never to return.
Currently, there is no promotional information explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. The feedback focuses on the menu items, food quality (both positive and negative), portion sizes, pricing for a specific order, and a critical incident involving a dietary restriction. The absence of any mention of special offers, discounts, or other promotional activities suggests that Wang's Kitchen's current appeal, as reflected in these reviews, is based on its standard menu and perceived value for money (in some cases) rather than any active promotions.
For local users in Raleigh considering Wang's Kitchen on Cross Link Rd, it is essential to weigh the positive feedback regarding the taste and portion size of the fried chicken wings and fried rice against the serious concerns raised about dietary awareness and customer service. The incident involving pork in "plain" fried rice and the subsequent mishandling of the complaint are significant red flags for customers with dietary restrictions or those who value reliable customer service. While one reviewer found the price reasonable for the quantity and taste of their order, the other experience suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation and a lack of empathy or effective problem-solving from the restaurant management.
The fact that the restaurant is described as "kinda hidden" might also be a minor inconvenience for some potential diners. However, the more pressing issues seem to revolve around the accuracy of order preparation, especially concerning dietary restrictions, and the way customer complaints are handled. The discrepancy in experiences – one rating the restaurant a 7/10 based on a specific meal, while the other expresses extreme disgust due to a dietary error and poor follow-up – indicates a potential inconsistency in the restaurant's operations and customer service standards.
In conclusion, Wang's Kitchen at 1601 Cross Link Rd STE 41 in Raleigh offers a typical Chinese menu with some dishes, like the fried chicken wings and fried rice, receiving positive feedback for taste and portion size. The pricing for at least one combination appears reasonable. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the restaurant's attention to dietary restrictions, specifically the inclusion of pork in an order of "plain" fried rice, and the subsequent poor handling of the customer's complaint. This, coupled with the restaurant being somewhat hidden, suggests that potential customers should consider these factors carefully before deciding to dine at or order from Wang's Kitchen. For those with dietary restrictions, it would be prudent to exercise extreme caution and perhaps seek assurances about ingredient accuracy before placing an order. Came Here For Dinner. The Place Is Kinda Hidden. Typical Chinese Menu. I Got The Fired Chicken Wings With Fried Rice. Total Was About $10.75. Did Not Come With Egg Roll. But Their Other Dinner Combos Do Come With An Egg Roll. The Wings Are Big And Tasty. And You Get A Enormous Amount Of Fried Rice. From 1 To 10 I Give This Place A 7.
Never go here I asked for plain fried rice didn’t know until mid way it had pork it called to complain they told me to come back on Tuesday just to find out their closed after driving all the way up here on my Lunch break beyond disgusted
Had a pleasant experience at Wang’s Kitchen in Southgate Plaza. First time ordering so I went with previous reviews and ordered the Boneless Ribs with Pork Fried Rice. Service was good and food was ready within 10-15 minutes. The food itself was hot and delicious! It even tasted good the next day as leftovers. The serving container was sturdy and reusable/reheatable. Overall great experience and I would recommend.
I ordered beef and broccoli, and the beef tasted like it was some type of animal, very slimy, not edible actually. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and short with me about the food choices. Overall, I would give this a one star and that’s just because the chicken wings are actually very good. It was disgusting, waste of my money, and I hate wasting my money and wasting my time.
Food is great and service is quick. Atmosphere could use some refreshing and updating.
