Wan Q Restaurant, located at 13520 NW Cornell Rd, Portland, OR 97229, USA, is a Chinese restaurant that aims to serve the local community with its culinary offerings. You can reach them at (503) 644-0003 or +1 503-644-0003. As a Chinese restaurant, Wan Q focuses on providing a menu that reflects various facets of Chinese cuisine, catering to both those seeking familiar dishes and those interested in exploring more authentic flavors.

When considering the environment of Wan Q Restaurant, it's important to note that while specific details about the interior design and ambiance are not widely publicized, most Chinese restaurants in the area typically offer a comfortable and functional dining space. These establishments often aim to create an atmosphere that is welcoming for families, casual diners, and groups. The decor often incorporates elements that reflect Chinese culture, sometimes subtly and other times more explicitly, to enhance the dining experience. Guests can generally expect a clean and well-maintained setting, suitable for a relaxed meal. The focus tends to be on providing a comfortable space where the food takes center stage, rather than overly elaborate or fine-dining aesthetics.

Regarding services, Wan Q Restaurant, like many local Chinese eateries, is expected to offer a standard range of services to accommodate its clientele. This typically includes dine-in options, allowing customers to enjoy their meals on-site. Given the nature of Chinese restaurants, takeout services are almost certainly a prominent feature, providing convenience for those who prefer to enjoy their food at home or elsewhere. Online ordering platforms or phone-in orders for pickup are common methods for this service. Delivery services might also be available, either directly through the restaurant or via third-party food delivery platforms, expanding their reach to customers within a certain radius. Friendly and efficient service is generally a hallmark of such establishments, with staff aiming to ensure a pleasant dining experience for all guests, whether they are dining in or picking up an order. One customer review specifically highlighted "friendly staff and great service," which suggests a positive customer interaction is a priority.

The features of Wan Q Restaurant primarily revolve around its culinary offerings as a Chinese restaurant. The menu likely encompasses a broad spectrum of popular Chinese dishes, from appetizers like spring rolls and dumplings to main courses featuring chicken, beef, pork, and seafood, often prepared with various sauces and cooking styles. Dishes like **Orange Chicken** and **Kung Pao Chicken** are frequently found on Chinese restaurant menus, as evidenced by customer mentions. While some dishes may be adapted to local tastes, there's often a commitment to providing options that cater to different preferences, including those seeking more traditional or authentic flavors. One customer review indicated a preference for "authentic Chinese food" and found Wan Q to be "better than expected," suggesting that the restaurant does indeed offer dishes that resonate with this palate. The concept of "set dinners," such as "Set Dinner B" mentioned by a reviewer, is also a common feature in Chinese restaurants, offering a selection of dishes at a fixed price, often designed to serve multiple people. This provides a convenient and cost-effective way for groups to sample a variety of dishes. Portion sizes are also a key feature, with Chinese restaurants often known for generous servings, as one reviewer noted that "the portion is more than enough for us."

Promotional information for Wan Q Restaurant, based on general practices for Chinese restaurants and the available customer feedback, would likely emphasize their commitment to satisfying diverse palates. Given the mixed reviews, any promotional efforts might highlight specific dishes that consistently receive positive feedback or emphasize their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. If the restaurant has lottery services, as hinted by a customer review ("They must make their money on lottery or something"), this could also be a promotional element, drawing in customers who are interested in more than just food. Special offers for lunch specials are common in Chinese restaurants, providing value-oriented options during midday hours. Family meal deals or combo platters, similar to the "set dinners," are also frequent promotions, encouraging larger groups to dine together. Holiday specials, especially during Chinese New Year or other cultural celebrations, could also be part of their promotional strategy, offering unique dishes or dining experiences. Loyalty programs or discounts for repeat customers might also be implemented to foster customer retention. The restaurant could also promote its takeout and delivery services, emphasizing convenience and speed for those who prefer to eat at home. Highlighting the "friendly staff and great service" can be a powerful promotional tool, as positive customer experience is a significant draw for any eatery.

In summary, Wan Q Restaurant aims to be a go-to spot for Chinese cuisine in Portland, OR. It provides a range of services typical of the category, from dine-in to takeout, and potentially delivery. The menu likely offers a mix of popular and potentially more authentic Chinese dishes, with generous portions, and they strive for friendly and efficient service. While some customer experiences have varied, the restaurant's longevity and continued operation suggest it serves a segment of the local community with its offerings.

The food was awful. The flavors made no sense. I had orange chicken which was not flavored, not enough seasoning, not orange, and kind of a ball of mush and kung pao chicken which did not taste right and barely had any chicken. There are a lot of good chinese places around, I hoped I could stumble into one that was near my child's baseball practice. I should have gone to a better spot. Also, it was too expensive. They must make their money on lottery or something. Terrible food.

Never have a normal menu, walk in for dinner and it's all happy hour fried stuff. Chinese food isn't even comparable unfortunately. Garbage and grease traps overflowing in the back. You go there for a last resort drink.

I love their egg foo yung, it's excellent. I ordered here twice before. I also ordered their combination appetizer, which was excellent too. It was not crowded when I went. I went early in the day.

I started going to the Wan-Q Lounge at its current location a few years ago to spend time with friends. The service from the bar has gone significantly downhill in that time, as they can't keep a decent bartender on staff. Brawls & fights are happening more often. The community mural has been wallpapered over. Now it's just another hole-in-the-wall with video poker & a couple pool tables. Visit if you don't mind waiting 30 minutes to get overpriced food or drink...and do cash as you go, or it might take 30 minutes to actually pay a tab.
