Recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the dining experience at Wah Weng Garden. One customer described the food as bland. Furthermore, they reported significant difficulty in communicating with the servers, stating that the staff only had a very limited English vocabulary. This communication barrier apparently extended to the ordering process, where customers were provided with disposable menus and had to circle their selections. In this particular instance, the menu had already been used by a previous customer, requiring the diner to cross out old selections and re-circle their own choices. This individual left the restaurant feeling exhausted and disappointed with their overall experience.
Another group of six diners shared an overwhelmingly negative experience at Wah Weng Garden. They arrived at 7:45 PM and requested to split their bill into two separate payments for three people each. This group reported a severe lack of food available at the buffet. According to their account, two members of their party did not eat at all due to the minimal amount of food present. They claimed that the restaurant staff refused to prepare any more food, citing the late hour as the reason, despite it still being within the dinner service time. The group was presented with a bill of $122.46 for six people, even though two individuals did not eat due to the scarcity of food. They questioned the justification for this total, noting that the buffet selection was limited to only two rows of food, which they did not consider to be representative of a typical Chinese buffet.
This same group further alleged extremely poor service and accused the restaurant of overcharging. They stated that, despite the self-serve nature of the buffet and the lack of service provided, a $17 tip was automatically added to their bill without their consent. This action further exacerbated their negative perception of the restaurant. The reviewer emphatically described their experience as one of the worst they had ever had and expressed their intention to prevent others from undergoing a similar situation, labeling the establishment as "horrible" in terms of food and service.
Based on these two recent customer reviews, several significant issues appear to be present at Wah Weng Garden. The quality of the food has been described as bland, which would likely detract from the overall dining satisfaction. A major concern is the reported difficulty in communication with the serving staff due to limited English proficiency. This could lead to misunderstandings with orders and a frustrating experience for customers. The ordering process itself, involving used disposable menus and circling selections, also seems unconventional and potentially unhygienic.
The experience of the second group highlights even more serious problems. The lack of food availability at the buffet, especially for diners arriving within a reasonable dinner time, is a significant failure in service. Refusing to replenish the buffet and still charging full price, even for those who did not eat, is a highly questionable and potentially unethical business practice. The allegation of an automatic and unwarranted tip being added to the bill further compounds the negative impression of the restaurant's service and billing practices.
The description of the buffet as having a very limited selection, not resembling a "regular Chinese like," suggests that the variety and quality of the offerings might be below the standards expected by customers of a Chinese buffet. The overall tone of the reviews indicates a high level of dissatisfaction and frustration, with one reviewer going so far as to call it the "most horriblest place" they had ever been to.
Given the strong negative feedback regarding food quality, communication barriers, buffet availability, service, and billing practices, potential customers should approach Wah Weng Garden with extreme caution. These reviews raise serious concerns about the overall dining experience that the restaurant currently provides. There is no indication of any positive aspects in these recent reviews that might counterbalance these significant issues. No information about the restaurant's environment or any potential features that might be appealing to customers can be gleaned from this overwhelmingly negative feedback.
There is no mention of any promotional information or special offers currently being provided by Wah Weng Garden in these reviews. Given the severity of the issues raised by customers, it is unlikely that any promotions would outweigh the fundamental problems with food, service, and business practices reported. Anyone considering dining at Wah Weng Garden should be aware of these recent experiences and potentially seek alternative Chinese dining options in the Corbin, KY area.
In conclusion, recent customer feedback for Wah Weng Garden in Corbin, KY, paints a picture of bland food, significant communication difficulties with staff, a poorly managed buffet with limited availability, questionable billing practices including alleged automatic tipping, and overall poor service. Potential diners should carefully consider these serious concerns before choosing to eat at this establishment. The provided information does not offer any positive aspects or promotional details that might mitigate the negative experiences reported by these customers.

Customer Reviews
Food was bland, and it was nearly impossible to communicate with the servers who could only speak one or two words of English. To order, we were given a disposable menu, and had to circle the menu selections. In my instance, the menu had already been used by another patron, so I had to cross out items, and recircle my choices. Left exhausted and disappointed. Check it out and see what you think!
We had 6 of us asked to split the check in two 3 and 3 we came at 745pm there was very, very little food. 2 of the people in our group didn't even eat cause there wasn't enough food to eat. They refused to make any more food because they said it was the end of the night when we got our bill. They charged us a $122, 46 people to eat a buffet that had no food on it, and they refused to make any more and 2 of us didn't even eat. Where is a $122 coming in? They only had 2 rows of food that wasn't even a regular Chinese like. Are you guys serious right now? They are horrible. Do not eat hair. Their food is horrible. Their service is horrible and they will overcharge you. They also, this is a buffet mind you I took a $17 tip for themselves out of our bill. They added it to our bill. They didn't even do anything for us. It was a self serve bar. By far one of the worst experiences me and my family have ever ever had.I will make sure that they will never be able to do that to another person again. This was the most horriblest place i've ever been to in my life .
This place is awful used to be better everything is over cooked dry and nasty no sushi no coconut or honey chicken a bunch of over cooked rolls nasty Mac and cheese dry chicken and then noodles and rice don't come here go anywhere else if you want a good meal kings buffet is even way better I've been to 100s of Chinese buffets from here to make Michigan never have a I been so disappointed waste of money and time this place needs to shape up or shut down 👎
My husband Thomas Baker n I love Wah Weng Corbin We live at Burning Springs,Manchester, so its well worth the drive for such hot delicious food and really terrific service!! Love it!
Very small place, not very many options. The staff was kind, but made me feel very rushed. I got the check and it was paid before I even finished my first plate of food. It was not very clean, and it was not a good experience. It was a 2/5 at best
