Customer reviews offer a mixed but generally informative perspective on what Wah Wah Chinese Restaurant has to offer. These reviews highlight both the strengths of the establishment, such as food quality and ambiance, as well as areas where some customers have found the experience to be less exceptional.

One enthusiastic reviewer describes Wah Wah as a "lovely restaurant!" and praises the food as "super tasty" and the welcome as "warm." They specifically enjoyed the "triple delight," a dish consisting of beef, chicken, and shrimp served in a "beautifully seasoned sauce," which they found to be "so tasty!" This reviewer also mentions that "Mrs. H" had a "super tasty lo mein," indicating that this noodle dish is also a highlight. Furthermore, they commend the ambiance as "worthy of a 'Saturday night out'" and note the availability of "a good choice of alcohol." This overwhelmingly positive review concludes with a "100% happy" recommendation for this "wonderful Chinese restaurant."

In contrast, another reviewer who has ordered food from Wah Wah twice offers a more moderate assessment, describing the food as "not bad" but "very mid though." They provide specific feedback on some of the appetizers, stating that the "crab rangoon are always hard like they are stale," and the "egg rolls remind me of the walmart egg rolls that sit out for hours." While acknowledging that Wah Wah "will do in a pinch or if you dont want to go further," this reviewer suggests that "so many better places to go" exist, indicating that their experience did not meet a higher standard.

These reviews present a dichotomy of experiences. One customer found Wah Wah to be a delightful restaurant with delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a good selection of alcoholic beverages, making it suitable for a special occasion. The other customer found the food to be average, with specific criticisms regarding the freshness and quality of the crab rangoon and egg rolls, suggesting it might be an acceptable option for convenience but not a top choice.

As a Chinese restaurant, Wah Wah likely offers a diverse menu encompassing a variety of popular dishes. The mention of "triple delight" and "lo mein" indicates the presence of combination dishes and noodle specialties. The positive feedback on the seasoning of the sauce in the triple delight suggests attention to flavor profiles. The availability of alcohol, as noted by one reviewer, is a feature that some Chinese restaurants offer to enhance the dining experience.

The environment of Wah Wah is described by one reviewer as having an ambiance "worthy of a 'Saturday night out'," suggesting a more upscale or at least a comfortably inviting setting that goes beyond a typical casual takeout-focused restaurant. This implies attention to decor, lighting, and overall atmosphere, making it a place where one might feel comfortable for a more leisurely meal.

In terms of services, Wah Wah clearly offers dine-in options, given the description of the ambiance. The second reviewer mentions having ordered food from there twice, implying the availability of takeout service. It is also reasonable to assume they take phone orders, given the provided contact numbers. The presence of a selection of alcohol suggests that they have the necessary licenses and offer bar service to complement their food menu.

Features that might characterize Wah Wah include their "super tasty" triple delight and lo mein, as highlighted by a satisfied customer. The warm welcome mentioned in one review suggests a focus on customer service. The ambiance suitable for a "Saturday night out" and the availability of alcohol distinguish it from more basic Chinese takeout establishments. However, the consistently stale crab rangoon and subpar egg rolls, as reported by another reviewer, are potential drawbacks that might deter some customers.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Restaurants often offer specials, discounts on certain days, or combination meals. To learn about any current promotions at Wah Wah Chinese Restaurant, it would be best to check local advertising, their website (if they have one), or inquire when contacting them by phone.

In conclusion, Wah Wah Chinese Restaurant in Richmond, VA, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. One reviewer found it to be a lovely restaurant with delicious food, a warm welcome, and a pleasant ambiance suitable for a night out, also appreciating the alcohol selection. However, another reviewer described the food as average, with specific criticisms regarding the crab rangoon and egg rolls. Potential customers might find the triple delight and lo mein to be particularly noteworthy, and the ambiance could be a draw for those seeking a more pleasant dine-in experience. However, the reported issues with the appetizers should be considered. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of their menu, environment, full range of services, and any current promotions, contacting Wah Wah Chinese Restaurant directly at (804) 276-9368 or +1 804-276-9368 is recommended. It would also be beneficial to consider the varying opinions in the reviews when making a decision.

What a lovely restaurant! The food here is super tasty, and the welcome is warm. I had the triple delight, which consists of beef, chicken and shrimp served in a beautifully seasoned sauce. It was so tasty! Mrs. H had a super tasty lo mein. The ambience is worthy of a "Saturday night out" and there is a good choice of alcohol. I am 100% happy to recommend this wonderful Chinese restaurant.

There was a dead bug in my food and in the to-go bag. I reached out to the restaurant and they refused to replace the order. The man had the nerve to tell me that it was just in the bag and the food was fine…… 🐜. Do NOT EAT HERE…… calling HEALTH DEPT

Wah Wah Chinese Restaurant on Hull Street is a real find! I tried their boneless ribs, and they were incredible. Super tender and flavorful with a generous serving - definitely worth it. Their Happy Family dish was also amazing. The veggies were fresh and crisp, everything had great flavor, and again, the portions are huge! If you're looking for tasty, satisfying Chinese food with tons on your plate, give Wah Wah Chinese a try.

Nice helping of General Tso's Chicken , but their 4 Piece Garlic Wings and General Tso's Chicken has a tendency to be soggy. If texture or crispy chicken matters to you, this place isn't it. Cool if you don't mind having to put your food in oven instead of eating it straight away. Owner himself recommended another restaurant when inquired on crispy chicken solutions. Hoping to save someone time, money, and dissatisfaction.
