About Volcano Wok

Volcano Wok is an independently owned Chinese restaurant situated at 7040 W Sunset Blvd in the vibrant Hollywood area of Los Angeles. One reviewer described it as a quiet and clean establishment, offering made-to-order selections. A highlighted menu item is their hot and sour soup, noted for its quality ingredients such as bamboo shoots and woodland ear mushrooms. The restaurant also reportedly makes its own signature hot sauce.

However, another customer recounted a significantly different and negative experience. Their visit gave the initial impression of a restaurant under construction, and they reported the interior being uncomfortable and cold due to wind. This reviewer claimed the owner seemed reluctant to cook anything beyond fried rice (suggesting it was the quickest option) and allegedly behaved unprofessionally by audibly flatulating in front of them. They also reported a long wait for their food and observed the cook eating simple dishes. While they found the teriyaki chicken to be appealing, they expressed severe doubt about the contents of the egg fried rice. This customer stated they would never return and wished to give a negative rating.

Based on the limited reviews, there appear to be contrasting experiences at Volcano Wok. While one customer praised the quiet atmosphere, cleanliness, and specific menu items like the hot and sour soup, another reported a highly negative encounter involving discomfort, unprofessional behavior, long wait times, and concerns about food quality. Potential customers may want to consider these differing perspectives when deciding whether to dine at Volcano Wok. An independently owned restaurant in the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. Very quiet, clean and great made to order selections if you wish. Order the hot and sour soup which is made with great ingredients such as bamboo shoots and woodland ear mushrooms. They also make their signature hot sauce

My boyfriend and I came into the store and it seemed like it was under construction, after asking it was open. It was very uncomfortable and super cold because of the wind. We were looking at the menu to see what we wanted, the owner recommended us fried rice (it was the quickest option) and he was too lazy too cook anything else. Whilst ordering the owner farted loudly in front of us. We had to wait for the food very long and saw the cook eating - simple chicken egg fried rice and teriyaki chicken. When the food came the teriyaki chicken was yummy and looked nice. As for the egg fried rice - was it really chicken… or dog? Never coming back, would love to give -1.

A hidden gem on Sunset Blvd. Their fried rice is a must-try—one of the best I've ever had! The chefs, a delightful couple, are incredibly friendly. Don't miss this spot if you're in the area.

Volcano Wok has some of the best tasting chinese food I have ever had, and they serve you large portions! I come here often, and it never disappoints. My favorite dishes are the chicken chow mein, the beef fried rice, and the cashew chicken rice. I recommend this place to everyone I know. You can also get it delivered with Uber Eats if you don't want to go in person. 10/10 for quality, taste, and portion size.

1) I placed an order, but the person after me was served first. 2) All the tables are dirty 3) The food is terrible. I ordered soup - but didn't eat it because the broth was like glue
