About Village Food Garden

Village Food Garden is a unique culinary and retail destination located at 178 E. Hanover Ave in the heart of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. This versatile establishment combines the convenience of a grocery store with the charm of a cafe, the flavors of a restaurant, and the simplicity of a meal takeaway service, making it a one-stop spot for all your food-related needs.

Opened its doors to serve the local community, Village Food Garden quickly became known for its diverse offerings. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite on the go, enjoying a family dinner, or picking up ingredients for a home-cooked meal, this establishment has something for everyone. The friendly and efficient staff ensures that customers can enjoy a seamless dining experience, with meals prepared to order in their restaurant section or ready-to-eat options from their takeaway counter.

One of the standout features of Village Food Garden is its extensive menu, which includes a variety of international cuisines. From classic American dishes to flavors inspired by global traditions, there's always something new to try. Signature items like their famous fried chicken and handcrafted sandwiches have been crowd favorites, though some visitors have noted inconsistencies in food quality on occasion.

Adjacent to the restaurant is the convenience store, where customers can find a wide selection of pre-packaged goods, snacks, beverages, and other essentials. The cafe area offers a cozy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea alongside a sweet treat, making it an ideal location for both quick stops and leisurely visits.

Service at Village Food Garden is generally prompt, with staff members known for their efficiency during peak hours. While the establishment excels in providing convenience and variety, some reviews have highlighted issues with food quality on occasion. For instance, one customer mentioned undercooked fried chicken and hard sub rolls, though these experiences seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

Customer feedback has been mixed, with many praising the variety of offerings and the convenience of having multiple services under one roof. Positive reviews often highlight the efficiency of service and the wide range of menu options available. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about consistency in food quality and variety, particularly in terms of healthier or sugar-free dessert options.

Despite these areas for improvement, Village Food Garden has shown a commitment to enhancing its offerings based on customer feedback. Their efforts include introducing new menu items and exploring ways to diversify their product selection to better meet community needs.

Beyond its food services, Village Food Garden also hosts occasional customer events, such as cooking classes or themed dining experiences. One memorable event was a collaboration with the Jets, where customers enjoyed a special meal while soaking in the excitement of sports entertainment. These initiatives demonstrate the establishment's dedication to creating engaging and unique experiences for its visitors.

Overall, Village Food Garden stands out as a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a blend of convenience, variety, and community. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through Cedar Knolls, this versatile culinary destination offers something for everyone.

Half the time the fried chicken is half cooked and dry, and the sub rolls at the sandwich stand are hard as a brick, dometsome i see spoiled meat that has turned brown. The first aid isle is not stocked on a regular basic, and the only sugar free ice cream they have is Bryers a huge store like this should at least have more then one brand of ice cream that is sugar free

Recently attended a Jets cooking class! What a fun and amazing event! Thank you to the Chefs at each prep station! Really enjoyed the hands on opportunity to learn techniques! Our talented mixologist, Connor, created a delicious liquid refreshment! The main attraction, #57 Bart Scott, was fun, and besides football skills is a great cook! Who knew!!

I had placed my order through grubhub and was given an estimated delivery time of a little under an hour. Perfect except for the fact that 2 hours later i still didnt have my food. Now i didnt want to jump to conclusions and fully blame VFG considering i had used a foriegn ordering system, however 10 ignored phone calls (picking up then hanging up, forced forwarded, letting it ring endlessly until one of us hung up) i still don't know what to say. Grubhub tried contacting them as well. We canceled my order after expressing the ridiculousness of the situation...I must say this is a terrible first impression.

Offering pretty much anything you could need for sustenance or inebriation, this market puts the super in supermarket! Honestly, I was a little annoyed by the way they changed the light & lines at the Hanover & Horsehill, but aside from that, inside you have a variety of prepared cuisines, fresh grocery shopping, liquor store, and a few other nooks & crannies built in; creating a little hub of convenience not far from the Green in Morristown. Offering a few more selections that weren't available at the Walmart/Cedar Knolls Plaza on Ridgedale, the Village Food Garden lives up to its name offering a variety of food from sushi to pizza not to mention a Health & Wellness Center offering yoga classes, dietitians, butchers & bakers, and if you searched hard enough, I believe they even have a candlestick maker. I hope they expand their hours later into the night; as of now, they are only open until 10PM every day.
