Khaman dhokla is a must try here, pillowy soft, very fresh & right balance of taste & flavors Naan, tandoori roti - good 👍🏻 They have an extensive menu & no bread basket which is disappointing 🤦🏻‍♀️ Quantity of Chhole served with 2 bhature is less Paneer makhani was okay Methi matar malai - sabzi taste is good - but peas was barely 50% cooked which killed the taste of the sabzi Some of the methi gota had raw batter inside It wasn’t a busy day - we were the only ones ordering food .. and yet this blunder .. If they improve their sabzi portion sizes & check for doneness, they could do better! Menu is extensive .. but dishes are a hit or miss .. so it’s important to read reviews of what to order

Before I begin my review, I want to give a huge shoutout to Shawn (employee) for going above and beyond. He handles a busy restaurant so well and shows love for what he does. His customer service is amazing and we look forward to seeing him anytime we come to Vatan. I hope he gets recognized because he truly deserves it. As for the food, it was delicious. The wait times were slightly long but again, Shawn came and apologized, which went a long way. We didn’t mind waiting. There were some unique finds that we don’t see at typical Indian restaurants, which I loved! Below are some pictures of what we ate! Highly recommend checking it out. We drive an hour just for Vatan!

Very good Vegetarian restaurant in East Windsor. Must try “Modi Sandwich”. Everything was served hot and fresh. Service is really good. They have all spice levels for all cuisines they serve. They need to work on their ambience though..!!

Have visited this location several times and the food has been consistently good. Portions are good and menu is varied so lots of options for everyone. Chaat Thali is a favorite and great to share. Recently tried the vatan special thali and was impressed with number of items it came with. Included both kadhi and two types of daal. Minor quibbles on the food, chili potatoes were really just sautéed French fries, tastes fine but would have preferred more authentic preparation. Kathol item on the thali was same ragda as the ragda pattice. Nothing wrong but again would have preferred a more traditional item. Service is always slow here, be aware if you’re in a hurry. They just don’t have enough people but otherwise it’s fine. Not an issue if you’re just having a laid back meal. Overall, recommend for the taste and variety.

**Value for money, nice service, authentic taste** Our recent family dinner at Vatan in East Windsor was an enjoyable experience, highlighted by some standout dishes that truly brought the flavors of India to our table. Here's a detailed review of our meal: **Manchow Soup**: This was undoubtedly the highlight of our dinner. The Manchow soup was super delicious, with a crispy texture due to noodles and robust flavor that set the bar high from the start. It's hands down the best dish at Vatan, and perhaps the best Manchow soup I've had in the US. **Veg Hakka Noodles**: These noodles were a delightful surprise, capturing the essence of Indian street food perfectly. The flavors were authentically Indian, far surpassing any other Hakka noodles we've tried in the States. If you're a fan of street-style noodles, this dish is a must-try. The true Indian style sauces and chilli 🌶️ vinegar was a perfect add on. **Modi Sandwich**: The Modi sandwich was a hearty, heavily loaded creation filled with potatoes and paneer. While it was tasty and flavorful, its jumbo size made it a bit challenging to manage and eat. However, the effort was worth it for the burst of flavors it offered. **Vatan Thali**: The Thali was a mixed experience. It started with a variety of appetizers, followed by an assortment of curries, khichdi, rice, ras malai, seven chapatis, and raita yogurt. While the quantity was generous, the taste was average compared to the other dishes we tried. Both my wife and I found ourselves unable to finish the Thali, despite our best efforts. (We are not Gujarati hence that could also be a factor for us not liking the taste so much. This thali is Gujarati cuisine based) **Service**: The service was OK – nothing exceptional but satisfactory enough to complement the meal. Overall, the best parts of our dinner were definitely the Manchow soup and Veg Hakka noodles, which we will undoubtedly return for.
