About Valley Wok
Located at 125 Long Rd Suite B, Chesterfield, MO 63005, USA, Valley Wok is a highly celebrated Chinese Restaurant that has cultivated a fiercely loyal following in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Described by one long-term patron as "THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!!!" and "THE ONLY place I go for Chinese food," Valley Wok has clearly established itself as a premier destination for satisfying and consistently delicious Chinese cuisine. Its reputation is built on remarkable food quality, impressive speed of service, and catering to the regional palate, making it a beloved institution for both local residents and those willing to travel for its offerings.
The environment at Valley Wok is primarily geared towards a highly efficient takeout model, which is a significant factor in its operational design. While the restaurant does feature "inside seats and tables," it is explicitly noted that "eating in not really an option." This suggests that while there may be some seating available, the space is optimized for quick order processing and pickup, rather than a traditional sit-down dining experience. The ambiance, therefore, is functional and efficient, designed to facilitate a smooth flow of customers for takeout orders. This focus allows the restaurant to prioritize speed of cooking and delivery, which is a major draw for its clientele. Patrons should anticipate a streamlined environment focused on convenience, allowing them to quickly collect their delicious meals.
The service at Valley Wok is a key component of its success, characterized by its remarkable speed and efficiency. Customers consistently praise how "They cook so fast too." This rapid turnaround time is a significant advantage, particularly for those seeking a quick and convenient meal without a long wait. The consistent positive feedback, with a long-term customer stating, "I've never once been disappointed with the food or service," underscores a high level of professionalism and reliability. Valley Wok also demonstrates modern convenience by accepting "credit cards" and offering online ordering, making the service process even more seamless and accessible for patrons. Whether placing an order over the phone at (636) 530-1868 or +1 636-530-1868, or utilizing their online platform, customers can expect a swift and hassle-free experience, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellent operational flow.
The culinary features of Valley Wok are the primary reason for its immense popularity and loyal customer base. The food is consistently described in glowing terms, with particular dishes standing out:
Overall Food Quality: Hailed as "THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!!!" by a 17-year patron, this speaks volumes about the consistent excellence of their cooking. The food is described as "delicious" and consistently satisfying.
Lo Mein Noodles: The lo mein noodles are explicitly called "AMAZING!!!" This indicates a perfectly prepared dish, likely featuring springy noodles, flavorful sauce, and a good balance of ingredients, making it a must-try for noodle enthusiasts.
Crab Rangoon: The Crab Rangoon receives equally high praise, described as "out of this world delicious!!!" This suggests a perfectly crispy exterior, a creamy, flavorful filling, and an overall irresistible quality, making it a standout appetizer.
Regionally Adjusted Seasoning: One insightful review notes that the food is "regionally adjusted (seasoned) Chinese food." While one instance mentions the food being "on the very sweet side (seasoning)," indicating a specific flavor preference in some dishes, this also points to Valley Wok's ability to tailor its flavors to local tastes, which can be a significant draw for many customers. The balance of sweet and savory is a common characteristic in Chinese-American cuisine, and Valley Wok appears to embrace this.
Steamed Rice Quality: Even the seemingly simple steamed rice is highlighted as "of good quality," suggesting attention to detail even in fundamental components of the meal.
The high level of consistency ("I've never once been disappointed with the food") is a critical feature, building trust and encouraging repeat business. The profound loyalty, with customers driving from the "south side" to Chesterfield "just for their food," is the strongest testament to the compelling nature of Valley Wok's cuisine. The encouragement to "If you are craving Chinese food, check this place out!!! You will fall in love!!" captures the passion and satisfaction of its customer base.
While specific promotional information is not detailed in the provided reviews, the restaurant's operational features themselves act as significant attractants. The convenience of online ordering and credit card acceptance are modern "promotions" in terms of accessibility. Additionally, Chinese restaurants often engage in various promotional strategies, which could include:
Everyday Value: The inherent value of their delicious and generous portions, combined with fast service, serves as an ongoing "promotion."
Lunch Specials: Many Chinese restaurants offer specially priced combo meals during weekday lunch hours to attract a wider clientele.
Family Meal Deals: Bundled packages of popular dishes designed to feed multiple people, often at a discounted rate compared to ordering items individually, appealing to families.
Loyalty Programs: While not explicitly stated, some establishments implement loyalty cards or point systems to reward frequent customers with discounts or free items.
Online Ordering Incentives: Offering a small discount or a free item for orders placed directly through their online platform, encouraging direct business.
Seasonal or Holiday Specials: Introducing limited-time dishes or offers during major holidays, such as Chinese New Year.

Good take out for regionally adjusted (seasoned) Chinese food. This trip, the food was on the very sweet side (seasoning). The sweet was prevalent throughout all of the cooked items. The steamed rice was of good quality. They accept credit cards, and food can be ordered online. Though there inside seats and tables, eating in not really an option.
This is by far THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!!! I've been going here to get my fix for the past 17years and hope they never close. And is THE ONLY place I go for Chinese food. I live on the south side but will drive out to Chesterfield just for their food. The lo mein noodles are AMAZING!!! And omg the Crab Rangoon is out of this world delicious!!! Can't say enough good things about this place. I've never once been disappointed with the food or service. They cook so fast too. If you are craving Chinese food, check this place out!!! You will fall in love!!
Interesting event this evening at this restaurant. I am from St. Louis, but no longer live here. So when I come, I always like to get Chinese food. Instead of going to North County I have been going Valley wok. This evening we chose to eat inside of valley wok and to talk with someone that we brought. I did not eat any of my food because I was not hungry, but I wanted to pack this on the plane and take it back with me. They serve the contents in a Styrofoam container. A Styrofoam container for traveling is not the best and it’s not the sturdiest. Upon leaving the store, I asked the gentleman behind the counter if I could have two to go containers for me to pack and a little bag for the crab Rangoon. The odd thing is he did not want to give me the box to pack the fried rice. I have been to the establishment on numerous occasions and based on him wanting to debate with me about a $.03-$.05 box, he has lost my business and I will go to the mini Chinese restaurants that are on Olive or either that are in North County. The person we brought was a first-time customer and with that she said she would never come back as well.
I have exclusively bought only Valley Wok for the last 10 years. I moved twice and I still chose them! I've drove from Florissant for 5 years, and for the last 2 years I've drove up from House springs. I pass many Asian restaurants and various other food options to give my business to Valley Wok. They don't skimp you on the vegetable/meat ratio and the flavor is my favorite. Obviously they do great if I've been a loyal customer. I'm disappointed in them recently. I ordered 2 dinner plates, steamed dumplings, and an egg roll. We usually spend around 35 to 40 dollars. They forgot to put the sauce for the steamed dumpling in the bag so I had to go back. I did not get an apology or anything. He acted like I was bothering him. He handed me the sauce and walked off. I wasnt rude or anything. Just asked for sauce because it was not in the bag. The last 3 times I've been there they used 3 different types of chicken for their dish. It's not consistent. I order the same thing every time and it should be the same. Sometimes the flavor and portions are off too. Maybe it depends on who's working? But the type of chicken shouldnt regularly change. Poor customer service enough times will lose a loyal customer.
Wow! The valley chicken dinner is great. The fried rice is on par with other fried rice downtown st louis. And you get huge chunks of chicken in the fried rice here "they don't skimp" Just the right amount of vegetables in the valley chicken dish to. Most other places give you to much vegetables and no chicken. I will definitely be back to try other dishes and I'll update my reviews accordingly.
