As a part of the Chinese Restaurant platform category, V Garden aims to offer local users an authentic experience in Chinese cuisine. Located on East Valley Highway, this establishment has garnered varied feedback from its patrons, highlighting both its strengths and potential areas for concern.

One reviewer expressed surprise at what they perceived as a low review score for V Garden, asserting that it is a "really authentic one for Chinese food, especially the soup." This positive feedback suggests that V Garden might specialize in traditional Chinese flavors, with their soups being a particular highlight. For local users seeking genuine Chinese culinary experiences, this could be a significant draw.
The same reviewer also commended the service at V Garden as "excellent," specifically mentioning the helpfulness of the staff in assisting with packing food into to-go boxes. This level of service is noted as being increasingly rare in Chinese restaurants, not just in the Seattle area but also in the Bay Area, suggesting that V Garden goes above and beyond in customer care. This focus on service could be a key differentiator for V Garden, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, this reviewer found the prices at V Garden to be "very reasonable," adding to the positive aspects of dining here. The combination of authentic food, excellent service, and reasonable pricing suggests that V Garden could offer good value for money, making it an attractive option for local users looking for quality Chinese cuisine without breaking the bank.
In contrast to this highly positive review, another customer shared a significantly negative experience regarding the cost of their meal. This reviewer was "shocked" by a bill totaling $336.40 for a selection of dishes, to which they added a $46.60 tip, bringing the total expenditure to $380. The high cost was a major point of contention, particularly concerning a lobster dish that the reviewer estimated to be less than 3 pounds, drawing on their experience of regularly buying lobster at 99 Ranch Market.
Adding to their dissatisfaction, this customer mentioned bringing their own frozen tempura and oyster to the restaurant and asking for it to be fried. They expressed a strong belief that the "boss lady" treated them as tourists and overcharged them accordingly. This perception was reinforced by the fact that the boss lady inquired if they were first-time customers. Despite the reviewer not being a first-time customer, they were not recognized, further contributing to their negative impression.
Despite enjoying the taste of the food at V Garden, which was the reason for choosing it to celebrate a friend's birthday, the exorbitant bill and the feeling of being overcharged left the reviewer with a firm resolve never to return to the restaurant. This strong negative sentiment highlights a significant issue with pricing transparency or consistency, at least in this particular instance.
The starkly different experiences shared by these two reviewers make it difficult to provide a uniformly positive or negative introduction to V Garden. It appears that while some customers appreciate the authenticity of the food, the quality of service, and the reasonable prices, others have had experiences of unexpectedly high costs and a feeling of being unfairly charged.
Based on the available information, details about the environment of V Garden are not provided. The reviews focus on the food and service aspects rather than the ambiance or decor of the restaurant itself. Therefore, potential local users will need to visit the establishment to assess the dining atmosphere.
The services offered seem to include both dine-in and takeout, as evidenced by the mention of packing food into to-go boxes. However, specifics about other services such as delivery, catering, or any unique offerings are not mentioned in the reviews.
The features of V Garden appear to be its authentic Chinese cuisine, particularly its soups, and the excellent service provided by the staff. The reasonable pricing, as reported by one reviewer, could also be considered a feature, although this contradicts the experience of the other reviewer who found the prices to be excessively high. The authenticity of the food seems to be a consistent positive aspect mentioned by at least one patron.
No specific promotional information is available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers or discounts at V Garden should consider contacting the restaurant directly or checking local listings for any advertised promotions.
In conclusion, V Garden in Kent is a Chinese restaurant that has received contrasting feedback from its customers. One reviewer praised its authentic food, especially the soup, excellent and helpful service, and reasonable prices, suggesting it deserves a higher rating. In stark contrast, another customer reported being shocked by a very high bill for their meal, including a lobster dish, and felt they were overcharged, leading to a vow not to return. This discrepancy in experiences indicates potential inconsistencies in pricing or perhaps a misunderstanding in that particular instance. Local users considering V Garden should be aware of these differing opinions and might want to inquire about the pricing of specific dishes, especially seafood, before ordering. While the authenticity of the food and the quality of service seem to be strengths for some, the potential for high costs is a factor that cannot be ignored based on the available feedback.
For local users in Kent looking for a Chinese restaurant, V Garden presents a mixed picture. If authenticity and good service are high on your list, and if the prices are indeed reasonable as reported by one reviewer, it could be a worthwhile place to try, especially for their soups. However, the experience of another customer with a very high bill suggests caution, particularly when ordering seafood or less common items. It might be prudent to clarify pricing upfront to avoid any unexpected costs. The lack of information about the restaurant's environment means that local users will need to visit to form their own impression of the ambiance.

Customer Reviews
Why this restaurant gets such low review score? It is a really authentic one for Chinese food, especially the soup. Their service is excellent as well. They help with getting food into the to-go box, which is now rarely seen in Chinese restaurants service, no matter Seattle or the bay area. Price is also very reasonable. They deserve at least four stars. Since it’s now underscored a lot, I am giving it five stars.
I was shocked to see the bill of $336.40 for the dishes we ordered as shown in the picture 😱and we still leave them tip of $46.60. So our total bill was $380. The lobster was less than 3lbs. I buy lobster regularly at 99 Ranch market, I can tell from my experiences how much it weighs. We brought a box of frozen tempura and oyster to asking them to fry for us. I truly believe the boss lady treated us as tourists and she charged us the way she did. ( she asked if we were 1st time customers) sadly to mention, I wasn’t the first time customer. But, she couldn’t recognize me. I’m not a big fan of Chinese food but I like the taste of their food , that’s why we went to V Garden to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I know I will never go back to this restaurant ever again 👎
Randomly picked it because we wanted Cantonese food. It is an authentic no frills restaurant!! Come for food, not for ambience! The service was good enough! Duck and veggie were good but Hong Kong style crab was a little bland! May be ginger and shallot crab would have been better! Overall a good restaurant and will definitely return to try out other dishes! We were given free desert at the end!! 😊
This restaurant was disappointment, with slow and unfriendly service. Our server seemed preoccupied on the phone, leading my husband to take a menu from an unattended table. To add to our frustration, we were served our food but never received our bill; my husband had to go fetch it himself, essentially self-serving our entire meal. Service: Virtually nonexistent Food: The pork BBQ arrived cold, the egg flour soup lacked flavor and resembled more of a thick broth, and the crispy noodles were also lacking taste. Atmosphere: Unwelcoming
my husband and I have been here a couple of times since Christmas and the quality and quantity of the food has majorly declined. First time we came they made my dish incorrectly and forgot my husband’s altogether. He had to speak to several people just to place his order again. The second time we came, I ordered chicken curry and it was half the size of normal. I raised it to their attention and they just added coconut milk, making it flavorless. Very disappointed.
