About United Dumplings
Located at 525 Cortland Avenue in San Francisco, United Dumplings falls under the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, specializing in a variety of Chinese cuisine with a particular emphasis on dumplings. This establishment appears to be gaining recognition for its generous portions and flavorful dishes, making it a noteworthy option for local residents seeking a satisfying Chinese meal.
Based on the limited but positive customer feedback available, United Dumplings seems to excel in the quality and size of its namesake dish. One reviewer specifically mentioned that the dumplings were "huge and meaty," indicating a substantial and satisfying filling that customers appreciate. This suggests that United Dumplings prioritizes the heartiness of their dumplings, potentially offering a more filling experience compared to other establishments.
Beyond their signature item, United Dumplings also offers a selection of other Chinese dishes that have garnered positive attention. The Chinese broccoli was highlighted as being "cooked to perfection," suggesting a careful preparation of this common yet often overlooked vegetable dish. Similarly, the fried mushrooms were also praised for their quality, indicating a well-executed and flavorful side or appetizer option.
Another customer shared their experience with three specific dishes: happy family cucumber, pork soup dumplings, and mapo tofu. All three were described as "very good," further showcasing the variety and quality of the offerings at United Dumplings. The pork soup dumplings, in particular, are a popular and often signature item at many dumpling-focused Chinese restaurants, known for their flavorful broth encased within the dumpling skin. The positive mention of this dish suggests that United Dumplings prepares it well.
The same reviewer also noted that their visit was during lunchtime, and the restaurant was "not busy" at that time. This could be useful information for potential customers who prefer a quieter dining environment or are looking for a quicker meal service during the lunch hour. However, it's important to note that the experience might differ during peak dinner hours.
While the available reviews are brief, they consistently praise the quality and taste of the food, particularly the dumplings and the accompanying dishes. The comments suggest that United Dumplings focuses on providing well-prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned meals. The mention of specific dishes like the "huge and meaty" dumplings, perfectly cooked Chinese broccoli, delicious fried mushrooms, and "very good" pork soup dumplings and mapo tofu paints a picture of a restaurant that pays attention to the quality of its ingredients and the execution of its menu.
Based on this initial positive feedback, United Dumplings appears to be a promising addition to the Chinese restaurant scene in the Cortland Avenue area of San Francisco. I read about United Dumplings and they did not disappoint. The dumplings were huge and meaty, the Chinese broccoli cooked to perfection as was the fried mushrooms. I will definitely be back!
Had threse three dishes: happy family cucumber, pork soup dumplings, and mapo tofu. All very good. We went for lunch so the place was not busy.
The curry chicken rice was amazing. 8.9/10. The garlic broccoli was equally as good. The pot stickers are a big yes. The bao was okay. I'm not a fan but a lot of bread or sweet good. But all in all is a solid place to eat.
Just have to say that the food was scrumptious! Ordered dumplings, potstickers and the famous Dan Dan noodles, finished off with the sesame balls with red bean paste. The atmosphere and the service, both were amazing. This one should be on your must visit list! Follow up - Nov 26, 2024 The food and the service (Angelica thank you!) was really good! This time we got the chicken and mushroom dumplings, the veg dumplings, the veg spring rolls and the vegetable fried rice. The fried rice was very simple and yet the best we've had so far! I think I know my staple menu now - dan dan noodles, Sichuan dumplings, fried rice and the sesame balls!
Haven’t been to the neighborhood in a while and noodles was the craving of the day so United dumplings got the bid. I arrived when they opened so it wasn’t busy and pretty much had the spot to myself. I ordered the Sichuan Dan Dan noodles. A cold dish that hits the spot every time. Also ordered the wontons in Chilli oil. Both dishes hit the spot and I would definitely dine here again.
