Customer Reviews
Had a great time at Uncle Lou's as we didn't know what to expect when we stumbled upon this little gem. The service was good and the ambiance was busy but inviting. The real stars are the tasty dishes we ordered. Where do I begin? Vegetable Spring Rolls: crispy on the outside as one bite is packed full of chopped carrots, onion and well, vegetables! Although only two rolls make up one serving, these will fill you up quickly! Chicken Dumplings: were soft and tender on the outside and very tasty once bitten. Both of these starters rocked! Next Up... Chicken and broccoli: was also tender and delicious. The broccoli had the right amount of crisp and the chicken, well flavored. Veggie Fried Rice: went down well. Chunks of fried egg, green peas, corn mixed in with "just right" textured rice. No soy sauce needed! Shrimp Lo Mein: did not disappoint as the noodles were soft and tasty. The shrimp was well seasoned as it made way for "a party in my mouth ". Crispy Garlic Chicken: was heaven on a plate! The crackle of the skin against the savory meat allowed for a joyous feeling. The chopped scallions and garlic took this dish over the top. In short, we'll be back!
Had an amazing time at Uncle Lou with a party of eight! From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic evening. We were seated at a round table with a huge lazy Susan, which made sharing the delicious dishes even more fun. Every dish we ordered was spot on—flavorful, well-prepared, and perfect for family-style dining. The portions were generous, and we loved how effortlessly the food kept coming as we spun the lazy Susan around. The staff was attentive and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. The lively ambiance, delicious food, and great company made it such a memorable night. If you're looking for an authentic and fun dining experience in Chinatown, Uncle Lou is a must-visit! Will definitely be coming back.
Uncle Lou's Cantonese Kitchen in Manhattan is a delightful culinary experience. The food was absolutely fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. What made our visit even more special was the opportunity to embrace the tradition of sharing. As newcomers to this style of dining, we found it to be a wonderful and enriching experience, perfectly complementing the delicious food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend Uncle Lou's for an authentic and memorable Cantonese meal.
This was a very nice Chinese restaurant. The food was amazing the staff were all over it and the restaurant and bathrooms were very well kept. I highly recommend getting the scallops in black pepper sauce. It comes out and they put it on top of a hot skillet. Be careful not to burn your young because it will be hot. All the other food we got was amazing too even the jellyfish salad.
We went there for a work dinner. It was my first time and I have only heard good things about the place, so I was excited to be gaining the experience! They did not disappoint. Be sure to make a reservation, especially for large parties! There was a line at the door, fortunately, we were seated as soon as we arrived. The staff were incredibly friendly, and patient. The food was good! We did items family style and there was enough for everyone. Veggies were fresh, I cannot go on without mentioning the wonton (shrimp) in chili oil, amazing! They also cut the red snapper in front of us, made it so much easier to share. I will definitely be back to try more items! I get the hype! Good for solo, dates, friends, and groups. I loved the atmosphere, good to have conversations. There was a festive vibe about the space, but the energy was so good! Smiles all around!
