About Umaido

Umaido, located at 2790 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd, Suwanee, GA 30024, USA, is a restaurant specializing in ramen. They can be contacted by phone at (678) 318-8568 or mobile phone at +1 678-318-8568.

Umaido has been a long-standing favorite for some customers, with one reviewer mentioning it as their go-to spot for over a decade, praising their great ramen. The restaurant is known to have limited seating, which can lead to crowding, but loyal customers find it worth the wait.

The staff at Umaido are consistently described as friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience. A unique feature mentioned by a customer is the inclusion of a bidet in the restroom, adding a pleasant touch.

However, recent feedback indicates a mixed experience regarding the flavor of some ramen dishes. One customer ordered the Ultra Spicy Ramen (Level 3) and the Honey Miso Ramen, both with an upgrade to a "Rich Broth" (enhanced with chashu fat), but found the flavors did not meet expectations. The Ultra Spicy Ramen was not perceived as very spicy, and the Honey Miso broth lacked depth. While the toppings and chashu were considered fine, they were not particularly outstanding. The reviewer suggested that while the dishes were edible, they might not be the most memorable ramen experienced, though they conceded it could be representative of the local ramen scene in Atlanta.

Despite the critique of some of the ramen flavors, the ambiance of Umaido is noted as having casual but chic interiors, and the service was described as fantastic. Additionally, the bathrooms feature heated toilet seats, which was a pleasant surprise for one visitor.

In summary, Umaido offers authentic ramen and is appreciated for its friendly and knowledgeable staff, as well as unique amenities like bidets and heated toilet seats. While some recent reviews suggest potential inconsistencies in the depth of flavor in certain ramen dishes, it remains a popular spot, especially for locals craving ramen. Be aware that seating is limited, which may result in wait times.

Umaido offers great ramen and has been a go-to spot for me for over a decade. The seating is limited, so it can get crowded, but it’s always worth the wait. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making the dining experience even better. I also appreciate the bidet in the restroom, which adds a nice touch to the overall experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic ramen!

Ordered the Ultra Spicy Ramen (Level 3) and the Honey Miso Ramen, both with the $1 upgrade to a "Rich Broth" which is meant to enhance the flavor of the broth with chashu fat. We read lots of good reviews on google and reddit and thought we'd give it a try. But the flavors did not meet our expectations. The highest spice level was not actually spicy. I cannot handle high spice, so the fact that I could handle the highest level of spice here is pretty telling. And there was no telling whether the Rich Broth was added or not because the Honey Miso broth was incredibly lacking. No real depth of flavors on the tongue. It was all pretty surface level. The toppings and chashu were fine, but nothing in particular stood out. It's definitely edible dishes, but it's not going to be the best nor most memorable ramen you'll ever have. Coming from someone who has had ramen at all major US cities. However, locally, this could be the standard of the ramen scene in Atlanta. I'm not sure as I don't live here. But if so, I'm glad that there is a place that can suit the locals. Do keep in mind that the vibes, the casual but chic interior, and service were all fantastic. Their bathrooms also had heated toilet seats, which was such a nice surprise.

Holy noodles, Batman! This place has amazing ramen and their sides are fantastic. I got the lunch special and paid less than 30 bucks for so much food. I will return and I will tell all my friends.

the service was really good! but for ramen it was pretty bland. i got the honey ramen and i swear i couldn’t tell there was supposed to be honey in it. the meat & broth lacked a deep, rich flavor. even the egg was cooked nicely but basically flavorless. overall the experience was a bit underwhelming. there’s much better ramen in the area!
