Tweed's Restaurant

We had an incredible dining experience at Tweed’s! The bison burger, fries, and bison cowboy steak were all absolutely delicious juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was beyond satisfying. Our server, Ellysa, was amazing so kind, sweet, and attentive. She checked on us frequently to ensure everything was perfect. We were celebrating a birthday, and Judy, who I believe is the owner, even came over to personally wish us a happy birthday. That thoughtful touch made the evening even more special. We drove about an hour to try this restaurant, and it was absolutely worth the trip. Tweeds is a gem, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional food and warm, welcoming service. We can’t wait to come back!

This landmark building is beautiful inside and out. There is a bar almost the length of the restaurant that has an ezcellent turn of the 20th century vibe with news articles and artifacts celebrating its political connections to presidents and leaders of both parties along with stuffed animals adorning the walls. The food was cooked fresh and the staff was professional, diligent and very courteous. The food took over an hour to arrive even though we were there for lunch and there were only 3 other tables with about 10 other customers there and the waitress kept apologizing for the delayed food because of new years prepping.

One of the best tasting burgers I've ever had. The Bison burger was excellent. Nice ambiance. Great spot for special occasion dinner. Highly recommended.

Historical building. Decor was on point. Restaurant was busy but we were able to sit at the bar. Atmosphere was quaint. Food was delicious! Onion soup, prime rib, porterhouse...all amazing.

Yesterday we stopped into Tweed’s restaurant in Riverhead for the most amazing dining experience. The ambience is cozy and appointed with historical artifacts, a stags head and the head of a bison that was shot by Teddy Roosevelt. We shared a large portion of Buffalo and cabbage soup, a hearty dish, full of delicious bison meat, cabbage, mushroom, and tomato. Buffalo burgers were delicious, tender, juicy, and large! This was followed by their special chocolate bourbon pecan pie, every bit as good as it sounds. Amazingly, we learned that the bison meat comes not from out west, but from the owners farm 3 miles from the restaurant. He has a herd of about 100 bison. You cannot get a fresher farm-to-table experience! I strongly recommend this restaurant for its local fresh food, ambience, and character. The menu contains many other offerings, other than bison which we intend to try on our next visits.
