About Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery

Welcome to Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery, a Chinese restaurant located at 1824 W Slaughter Ln Ste 100 in Austin, Texas. As a Chinese restaurant specializing in takeout and delivery services, Tso aims to provide convenient access to a variety of Chinese-inspired dishes for the Austin community. Based on recent customer feedback, Tso offers a contemporary aesthetic and a menu with both praised and critiqued elements, suggesting a potentially varied dining experience.

One customer shared a mixed experience with Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery. While they found the texture of the food to be generally well-cooked, they noted inconsistencies in seasoning across different dishes. The sesame tofu was highlighted as "quite good," indicating a well-received vegetarian option with satisfactory flavor. However, the egg drop soup was described as "very bland," suggesting a lack of seasoning that detracted from the dish. Similarly, while the noodles in the Singapore street noodles were reported to be "well seasoned and tasty," the tofu in the same dish was also found to be "very bland," indicating a potential issue with the flavor infusion in certain components. The sesame balls were deemed "good," and the fried rice was considered "fine," suggesting these items met a basic level of satisfaction without being particularly outstanding. This customer's overall impression was mixed, leading them to express a willingness to give Tso another try in the future.

This same customer also recounted an interaction with Tso's customer support. Initially, they received what they perceived to be an "obvious AI reply" from someone named "Tsophie" in under a minute, which they found "disheartening." They did receive a subsequent reply the next day that they "believe was human," although they were not entirely certain. This experience led them to suggest that Tso consider disabling AI replies or at least being transparent about their use in customer service interactions. This feedback highlights a potential area for improvement in Tso's customer communication strategy.

In contrast to the mixed feedback on the food's seasoning and the initial customer service interaction, another reviewer expressed a strong appreciation for the restaurant's aesthetic, describing the location as having a "cool aesthetic" that they "love." This suggests that the environment of Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery, at least in the area accessible for takeout or potentially a waiting area, is visually appealing and contributes positively to the overall impression for some customers.

This second reviewer also shared their favorite items to order for takeout, which include the "Rangoons" and the "Mongolian beef bowl," indicating satisfaction with these specific dishes. Furthermore, they found the "potstickers" to be "super yummy," adding another dish to the list of recommended items. This positive feedback on specific menu items suggests that Tso does have dishes that are well-received and flavorful, despite the seasoning issues reported by another customer on different items.

Considering the available reviews, Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery appears to be a restaurant that offers a visually appealing experience, at least in its takeout area, and has some dishes that are highly rated by customers, such as the Rangoons, Mongolian beef bowl, and potstickers. However, there seems to be a lack of consistency in the seasoning of some other dishes, like the egg drop soup and the tofu in the Singapore street noodles. The sesame tofu and sesame balls received moderate praise, while the fried rice was considered average.

As Tso's name indicates a focus on takeout and delivery, it is safe to assume that these are their primary services. Customers can likely place orders for pickup at their location on West Slaughter Lane or have their meals delivered to their homes. The availability and specifics of the delivery service, such as the delivery radius and potential fees, would likely be available on their website or by contacting them directly. While one reviewer mentioned the "cool aesthetic" of the location, the reviews do not provide details about a dine-in environment, suggesting that Tso primarily caters to off-premise consumption.

The features of Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery include its modern and appealing aesthetic, a menu that offers a variety of Chinese-inspired dishes, and a focus on providing convenient takeout and delivery services. The positive feedback on specific items like the Rangoons, Mongolian beef bowl, and potstickers suggests these are signature or popular dishes. The mixed feedback on the seasoning of other items indicates a potential area for improvement in their culinary execution. The customer service interaction involving an AI response also highlights a feature of their support system that some customers might find impersonal.

No promotional information is mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for takeout and delivery restaurants to offer deals or discounts, especially for first-time customers or through online ordering platforms. To learn about any current promotions or special offers at Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery, it would be best to visit their website or contact them directly via phone or their online ordering system.

In conclusion, Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery in Austin offers a visually modern experience with a focus on takeout and delivery. While some customers have praised specific dishes like the Rangoons, Mongolian beef bowl, and potstickers, others have noted inconsistencies in the seasoning of items such as the egg drop soup and the tofu in the Singapore street noodles. The sesame tofu and sesame balls received moderate feedback, and the fried rice was seen as average. The restaurant's customer service approach, particularly the use of AI responses, has also been a point of feedback. If you are in the Austin area and looking for Chinese takeout or delivery with a cool aesthetic, Tso might be worth trying, especially if you are interested in their highly recommended dishes. However, it is advisable to be aware of the reported inconsistencies in seasoning and the potential for AI-driven initial customer service responses. For the most up-to-date information on their menu, delivery options, and any promotions, please contact Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery directly.

Edit: I sent an an e-mail to their support and initially received an obvious AI reply from "Tsophie" in under a minute, which was disheartening. I received a subsequent reply the next day which I *believe* was human, although I'm not positive. Consider disabling AI replies or at least be transparent about your use. Original review: Everything was well cooked in terms of texture, but some things severely lacked seasoning. The sesame tofu was quite good, but the egg drop soup was very bland. The noodles in the Singapore street noodles were well seasoned and tasty, but the tofu itself was also very bland. Sesame balls were good and the fried rice was fine. I'll give them one more shot, but it was definitely a mixed experience.

Glad this south location is finally open in my neighborhood - food is still great and delivery is so fast compared to when I ordered from the Congress location! Ordered a few items, including the wonton noodle soup. It's so tasty and such a generous portion! The garlic edamame was OK, but the sauce was a bit heavy for my taste, but we'd still order it again.
