About Tsing Tao House

Welcome to Tsing Tao House, a long-standing Chinese Restaurant in Colorado Springs, located at 3604 Hartsel Dr. For many residents, including those who have called Colorado Springs home for decades, Tsing Tao House has been a reliable destination for classic Chinese cuisine. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, we aim to provide a familiar and comforting dining experience, offering a range of traditional dishes for dine-in and takeout.

Tsing Tao House has a history within the local community, with some patrons having enjoyed our food since as early as 2001, shortly after moving to Colorado Springs. For these loyal customers, Tsing Tao House remains their "go to" place for Chinese food, indicating a consistent level of satisfaction over many years. This enduring popularity suggests a commitment to providing dishes that resonate with local tastes.

One frequently mentioned dish is our sweet and sour chicken dinner, which, according to a long-time patron, includes fried rice, an egg roll, crab rangoon, and egg drop soup. This combination represents a classic Chinese-American meal that has been enjoyed by many. The fact that this customer specifically ordered it on a recent visit highlights its continued appeal. Additionally, their mention of the "really good" hot tea suggests that Tsing Tao House pays attention to even the simpler aspects of the dining experience.

However, it is important to present a balanced view based on all available feedback. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their meal, describing issues such as "watered down sauces," "dry rice," and "soggy and poorly made Sweet Sour Chicken" with "more dough than chicken." They also noted that while the beef in the Beef and Broccoli was "even cooked good," their experience with the egg drop soup was negative, calling it "the worst I’ve ever had." This feedback indicates that experiences can vary, and there may be inconsistencies in food quality.

The long-time patron who generally enjoys Tsing Tao House did mention one area where they felt there had been a decline. They noted a change in the egg rolls, stating that the current version is "not great like the previous ones" but still "okay though." This suggests that while some aspects of the menu remain consistent and well-received, others may have evolved over time, with varying results in customer satisfaction.

Considering the available reviews, Tsing Tao House seems to offer a familiar and comforting experience for many who appreciate classic Chinese-American dishes. The longevity of its appeal to some customers speaks to a certain consistency in delivering flavors and combinations that they enjoy. The sweet and sour chicken dinner, accompanied by fried rice, egg roll, crab rangoon, and egg drop soup, appears to be a popular choice.

However, potential customers should also be aware of the more critical feedback regarding the quality of certain dishes, such as the consistency of sauces, the texture of rice, and the preparation of the sweet and sour chicken. The comment about the egg drop soup being particularly disappointing also warrants consideration. While one long-term customer still finds the overall experience positive, the more recent negative review suggests that quality control might be an area to consider.

Tsing Tao House, located at 3604 Hartsel Dr in Colorado Springs, offers both dine-in and takeout options, providing flexibility for how you choose to enjoy your meal. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant with a history in the community and a menu featuring familiar favorites, Tsing Tao House might be worth a visit. We encourage you to consider the range of feedback available and perhaps try some of our more consistently praised items, such as the sweet and sour chicken dinner and the hot tea, while being mindful of the potential for variability in other dishes.

Watered down sauces… Dry rice…. Soggy and poorly made Sweet Sour Chicken. Had more dough than chicken. The beef in the Beef and Broccoli was even cooked good. These are Asian people and their Egg Drop Soup was the worst I’ve ever had.

We found out about this gem of a place shortly after moving to COS in 2001. It is still our "go to" for excellent Chinese food here. My pic is from a recent trip when I ordered the sweet and sour chicken dinner with fried rice, egg roll, crab rangoon, and egg drop soup (not pictured). Their hot tea is really good, too. My only issue would be the egg roll. They changed them, and these are not great like the previous ones (still okay though).

This is a classic restaurant here in the Springs. They've been around for a long time now and for good reason. Even though they have changed their staff a couple of times, perhaps even management, they have managed to be consistent with their service, food, and prices. So, if you're the kind of person that doesn't like surprises and loves consistency, this is your safe spot for Chinese food. I was happy to see that, recently, they have included Thai food in their menu. Staff is always friendly, food is good, prices are more than reasonable, and it's a pretty decent ambiance. Overall, great place.

I ordered and the cost was $57.42 including delivery and taxes They asked if I wanted to tip I said I will tip when the food is delivered. I also explained that I was not home yet just leaving work. She said 35 minutes. I said I should be home before I came home, the food was delivered with the receipt stating “NO TIPS” Then she began calling me three times. By the time I heard the message the drive was gone. THEY HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE MY CARD AN ADDITIONAL $5,00 I saw her on my camera she didn’t wait she left the order! That’s fraud I approved $57.42 She took $62.42 The order was paid as ordered! It’s not like she drove a mile even. I am literally half a mile from the shop THIEVES!!!’n

I placed our online order at 3:13pm for a 530pm delivery on Christmas eve as we figured earlier would be better as they will probably be busy. 6pm rolls around and no food. I call the restaurant and the phone just rings and rings, maybe after calling 8x I get someone and tell them we had a 530 delivery and still don't have our food. She took my name and # and said a manager would call me right back as they only handle online orders. I wait 20 minutes and still no call. Food is now 50 minutes late. I call back 10x no answer. I use my husband's phone and they answer. They tell me the same thing a manager will call. This time I get the call and I ask if our food is coming as it's almost an hour late now. The manager says yes maybe it's on it's way, I say maybe? She says yes we've been busy. I then ask is the food coming and she said yes on it's way and I ask for some form of compensation as we've waited for over an hour and she says ok. 15 minutes later I receive an email stating my refund has been issued... the food never came. I asked for some compensation since it was taking so long and I guess they just never planned on delivering our food. Talk about super frustrated that they didn't seem to care and hungry kids looking forward to dinner that never came. Terrible customer service. We've dined here for years but will never go back.
