About Tsang's Village Cafe

Tsang's Village Cafe is a Chinese restaurant located at 644 Washington St, Hanover, MA 02339, USA. They can be contacted at (781) 826-0202 or +1 781-826-0202.

As a Chinese restaurant, Tsang's Village Cafe offers a menu that includes both traditional Chinese dishes and sushi. Online reviews present a somewhat mixed picture of the dining experience.

One customer described Tsang's as a "very solid choice," particularly for lunch, noting good portion sizes, value, and taste. While acknowledging that the cuisine might not be "authentic" Chinese, they found it very tasty and specifically recommended the boneless spareribs (char siu).

However, another customer had a significantly negative experience during a recent dinner visit. They reported ordering bone-in spare ribs and finding that three of the six ribs appeared old, with bite marks on two of them. This customer described the experience as "disgusting," suggesting that ribs from a returned plate may have been mistakenly served. They also stated that the server did not seem concerned about their complaint and did not remove the ribs from the bill.

Furthermore, the same customer recounted being told by the server that they "didn't need" a sushi roll they ordered because they had already ordered too much food, which they found to be an unbelievable instance of a restaurant turning down business. This negative experience led the customer to conclude that it would be their last visit, expressing surprise at the restaurant's longevity given such service.

Given these contrasting reviews, potential customers may want to consider the varying experiences reported when deciding to dine at Tsang's Village Cafe. While some have found it to be a good option for tasty, albeit not strictly authentic, Chinese food, others have reported significant issues with food quality and customer service.

Very solid choice, esp for lunch. Good portion size, good value, and good taste. Not “authentic” Chinese, but still very tasty. The boneless spareribs (I.e. char siu) was very good! Recommended!

I have been going to Tsang's off and on for 10 years and sometimes it was good and sometimes not. This visit will definitely be my last. I went for dinner with my brother on a Monday night about 1 1/2 hours before they closed. The only thing I wanted was a sushi roll and my brother ordered bone-in spare ribs. We ordered a couple of other appetizers to share. The spare ribs came and we quickly noticed that 3 of the 6 ribs were older than the others and there were bite marks out of 2 of them. It was disgusting. They must have taken ribs off of a plate that was returned from another table without realizing 2 of the ribs had bites in them. Wow! The server did not seem too concerned when we complained and did not take the ribs off of our bill. When I asked about the sushi roll, she said we quote "didn't need it" because we already had too much food. I couldn't believe a restaurant was turning down business. I have never in my many years experienced anything like this. I wonder how they can be in business for so long.
