About True Noodle & Poke

True Noodle & Poke, located at 8622 Huebner Rd #111, San Antonio, TX 78240, USA, presents a diverse menu that extends beyond traditional Chinese cuisine, incorporating noodle dishes and poke bowls. While categorized as a Chinese Restaurant on the platform, it offers a broader range of Asian-inspired options.

According to customer reviews, the restaurant environment is notably clean. For convenience, True Noodle & Poke offers a drive-thru service in addition to limited parking space. The staff has been described as kind, particularly during phone order placements, with prompt order preparation times mentioned.

Feedback on the food quality is mixed. One customer who tried the orange chicken found the chicken itself to be very dry and difficult to eat, although they appreciated the breading and the delicious orange sauce that included orange rind. However, they were less favorable towards the fried rice, describing it as heavy on peanut oil. This customer ultimately decided not to return due to these issues and the availability of more flavorful alternatives elsewhere.

In contrast, another customer had a very positive first experience, describing the food as absolutely delicious. They mentioned adding cilantro to their dish to enhance the flavor, noting that the food was amazing on its own. This positive review highlights the potential for a satisfying culinary experience at True Noodle & Poke.

Overall, True Noodle & Poke offers a clean environment and friendly service, with the convenience of a drive-thru. While opinions on specific dishes, such as the orange chicken and fried rice, vary, other offerings like their noodle and poke bowls might provide a more consistently positive experience. Read the reviews and was interested in trying orange chicken. I wanted to like it so badly especially because it is so conveniently located! Sadly, the chicken is very dry and difficult to eat. The breading on the chicken is good. The orange sauce is very delicious. I was so pleased to see orange rind in the sauce. The fried sauce is heavy on the peanut oil and doesn’t taste like any other than just peanut oil. The staff was kind when I called my order in and informed me that it would take 5-10 minutes to ready. It was ready in 5 minutes! There was no one in the restaurant when I picked up my order. The restaurant is very clean. Parking is limited; however, there is a drive thru available also. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be eating here again. There’s so many other much more flavorful options and the chicken isn’t dry or overcooked. Best wishes to this establishment and its staff!

What a great little surprise. I've driven by here many times and I thought maybe I just kept missing it but the young lady said they're actually only been there about 2 or 3 months. She did say that there were other locations in town and have to find out. Mary was incredible from the moment she said hello, great service from the beginning through the end. My first bite of the fried rice I wasn't sure if I liked it. It just tasted a little different. But then I took the second bite and thought maybe it's just me LOL. My friend and I both really enjoyed it as you can tell from the picture they actually put egg in it and it looks a little more like the traditional fried rice. I had the jalapeno beef the meat was incredibly tender lots of jalapenos really delicious. My friend had the orange chicken. They said it was a little chewy but worth every bite. Really like the egg rolls. We also tried the crab puffs which I thought were really great, they had a little bit of a sweet flavor to them couldn't put my finger on what it was but it really added to the flavor. My friend on the other hand didn't like them because of that sweet flavor. And then we also ordered the fried dumplings. Also really good we both thoroughly enjoyed those. As you can tell we ordered like it was going out of style, but the portions are so good we're going to get at least two other meals out of this. It's not on my particular beaten path, but I will definitely make my way there again.
