There's a lack of good dim sum places around Seattle. Mostly are pretty average. Saw lots of TikTok and IG posts about Triumph Valley's new outpost in Shoreline, figured i should try out the one that's worked out all the new restaurant kinks first. It was Sat lunch time and there was no wait. No push cart, you order with the tablet on your table. The selection is quite extensive for Seattle standard, but i think they cook to order to keep things fresh so it takes a while before food shows up. The best one was the regular Shu Mai. Shrimp dumpling and Shrimp & chives dumplings were much larger than typical size and offer great value. Fried taro balls and football were very well done. Tripes were a little too tender but flavor was good. Crispy shrimp in tofu skin was also very good. The only let down was the chew ciao dumpling being under seasoned and the skin being too chewy. Overall this place offers very tasty dim sum without he China town parking hassle.
Truly good dim sum is hard to find. Google will tell you Harbor City or Jade Garden, but real dim sum is actually in the southern suburbs. Whole experience was great, from ordering on the tablet, to quick and efficient service, to tasty and high quality dishes. One down side is it’s expensive.
The first time we visited Triumph was at the Shoreline location, and we were blown away by the quality of the food — some of the best dim sum in Seattle, almost as good as what you’d find in Vancouver. So when we found out there was another Triumph in Renton, which is closer to where we live, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a completely different experience. The dim sum we ordered was terrible — honestly, the worst I’ve had in Seattle. We ordered three of our favorite dim sum dishes, and they were served cold. The salt and pepper fried tofu was just plain fried tofu, with no seasoning at all. When we asked the waitress, she explained that the current chef is new and the only one working in the kitchen. She was very nice and told us she would pass along our feedback to the chef. To be fair, I don’t think it’s entirely the chef’s fault — it’s on the owner. There should be a senior chef supervising until the new one is fully trained and able to deliver quality food. I don’t think I’ll be going back there again anytime soon
1st time here and I would definitely go back. The rice was flavorful and not heavy. The soup dumplings were hooooot so highly recommend you let them cool for a few minutes. Only quip I had was the pork bun was falling apart too easily, but they were sweet and the meat was tasty.
Someone strongly recommended this restaurant for dimsum ! I completely dissapointed about the worst service in my life by 3 servers and food runners(?) and most greasy dishes. This restaurant might has reputation before and have loyal clients so servers and food runner never care about service. For example, we needed to order by tablet then each or several dishes served by different staffs but not explaining about the dish "what this dish is" at all....just they left dishes and gone. So ridiculous situatuons all the time. Requested soy sauce bowl then, brought disposal 2oz portion cup..Call staffs by button on tablet and showed up then unkind and not really speaking or answering.. never heard "hi", "how is the food", "bye", "thank you", "anything else", "is it okay?" never seen this type of serving. I tried 6 kind of dishes( a lot for 2 people) ...bad flavor shrimp fried rice, you can find better dim sum in any other restaurant. They might know they have bad service but I felt they dont want to fix it. So sad wasting time and money for...
