This establishment offers a unique culinary experience, bringing the flavors of Trinidad and Tobago to Tampa. The restaurant is described as colorful with bright decor and features several tables with metal chairs. Many of the beverages and snacks available are imported directly from the islands, offering an authentic taste.
The menu features a variety of dishes, many of which are curry-based, reflecting the influence of Indian immigrants in Trinidad and Tobago's history. Some of the dishes mentioned in customer reviews include Curry Shrimp, Curry Goat, and Roti, a traditional bread. One customer noted that while the food was acceptable, it lacked strong flavor, and there was a preference for goat served on the bone rather than off the bone. This customer also mentioned a curry spice packet for duck and goat that piqued their interest, as well as interesting-looking snacks and drinks.
In contrast, another review enthusiastically recommends Trini Spice Cuisine and Events, praising the "delicious food" and "top-notch service." This customer, who drove a significant distance to try the cuisine, highlighted the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the young woman who took their order, describing dishes and assisting with selections. They specifically enjoyed the Doubles and Curry Goat and expressed a strong desire to return, hoping for the business's continued success.
Overall, Trini Spice Cuisine and Events offers a chance to explore the unique flavors of Trinidad and Tobago in Tampa, with a focus on curry dishes and island specialties. While one reviewer found the food to be mild, another highly praised the taste and service, suggesting a potentially varied experience depending on individual preferences. The restaurant also offers Trinidadian snacks and drinks and appears to have a friendly and helpful staff.

Customer Reviews
Took a ride to a part of town I do not frequent to try food from Trinidad and Tobago. A place I visited as a child and home to a past friend of mine. He used to brag about the food and I was curious to try it. The place was on 56th not to far from Busch Blvd. A colorful place with parking in front. Half a dozen tables with metal chairs and bright decor. Many of the drinks and snacks were from the island. Most of the dishes were made with curry, very likely influenced by India. Somewhere in their history, imigrants from India must have populated parts of Trinidad and Tobago. So I tried the Curry Shrimp and the Curry Goat. I also ordered Roti, a traditional bread for $5. The food was just ok. Not very flavorful and kind of bland. I preferred the goat over the shrimp. The goat, however, was off the bone and I prefer it on the bone. I got stiffed on the bread, she left it out of the bag. $5 donation I guess. The lady was very nice, she was apparently alone and was also the cook. One thing that peaked my interest was a curry spice packet for duck and goat. I wish I had bought it. Some of their snacks and drinks looked interesting as well.
All of Tampa needs to come experience this delicious food and absolutely top notch service! We are not Trini or even from Tampa but we drove 1.5 hrs hoping the drive was worth it and let me tell you no disappointment! We were so excited for the food and the young woman taking our order described every plate and even helped us make the food selections as we didn’t know what was what. Her enthusiasm to help us and make us feel as though we had literally stopped by her house and she was cooking us lunch from her home kitchen. Customer service 10/10… but it gets better bc this food is finger licking good no exaggeration. We’ve never had a doubles or curry goat but best believe we will be driving back. I hope this business blossoms and trust me you won’t be disappointed!
If you’re craving authentic Caribbean flavors, Trini Spice Restaurant is a must-try! I had their doubles and roti, and they were absolutely delicious. The spices were perfect, and the food was full of flavor. On top of that, the service was top-notch. The staff were so polite and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be going back for more! Highly recommend this spot!
Authentic Trini Flavors at Trini Spice Cuisine - A Hidden Gem in Tampa! My boyfriend and I were spending the weekend in Tampa for a family birthday celebration when we stumbled upon Trini Spice Cuisine and Events while heading to a nearby Walgreens. Being Trinidadian myself and with my boyfriend’s love for Trini food, we couldn’t resist giving this place a try—and we’re so glad we did! The restaurant had a warm, inviting ambiance with great music and a lovely grass wall, perfect for a fun photo op. The menu had plenty of options, but we decided on some of our favorites: Chicken Dhal Puri Roti with Pepper, Chicken Roti with Buss Up Shot, Goat Roti, Aloo Pie, 4 Doubles, and Pholourie. For those unfamiliar, Dhal Puri Roti is a flatbread stuffed with split peas, typically served with curry chicken and pepper sauce—it was perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. Buss Up Shot, another type of roti, is a soft, torn-up flatbread that pairs beautifully with curries. Both the chicken and goat roti were tender and packed with flavor. The Aloo Pie, a fried pastry filled with spiced mashed potatoes, was delicious, and the Doubles—a Trinidadian street food staple with curried chickpeas between two fried pieces of bread—were absolutely on point, with just the right balance of spices. The only slight miss was the Pholourie, which was a bit tougher than what I’m used to, but the Mango and Tamarind Chutneys totally made up for it, adding a tangy sweetness that elevated the dish. Overall, the food was fantastic, and the service was impressively quick given the large amount of food we ordered. If you're craving some authentic Trini flavors in Tampa, Trini Spice Cuisine and Events is definitely worth a visit! #TriniSpiceCuisine #TampaEats #AuthenticTriniFood #RotiLovers #Doubles #FoodieFind #TampaRestaurants
