About Tops China

Tops China is a Chinese restaurant located at 36080 Goodwin Dr in Locust Grove, Virginia (zip code 22508), USA. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Tops China aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the local community. However, recent customer reviews paint a starkly negative picture of the food quality, which potential local users should be aware of before considering this establishment.

One customer described their experience in extremely harsh terms, stating that the food was the "Worst Chinese food I've ever had" and "Completely unedable." They specifically labeled the combination fried rice as "absolutely disgusting" and emphatically declared, "Never, ever again!!!" This review conveys a complete dissatisfaction with the food, suggesting that at least one customer found the quality to be far below acceptable standards.

Another customer shared a similarly negative experience with most of the food they ordered. They mentioned a craving for General Tso's chicken as the reason for trying Tops China. While they did find one item on their order to be satisfactory, rating the crab rangoons as "5 star," their experience with everything else was significantly negative. They reported that the remaining food "tasted burnt." This customer also indicated that had they lived closer or tried the food on-site, they would have sought a refund, except for the crab rangoons. Interestingly, this reviewer did note that the "place is clean," providing a single positive observation about the restaurant's environment, although it was overshadowed by the poor food quality. Despite the cleanliness, this customer concluded that they "would never go back," emphasizing the overriding impact of the unpleasant taste of the food.

Considering these two recent reviews, the overwhelming sentiment is one of extreme dissatisfaction with the food served at Tops China. One reviewer found the food entirely inedible and disgusting, while the other reported a pervasive burnt taste in everything except the crab rangoons. The stark contrast between the highly negative assessment of the main dishes and the single positive comment about the crab rangoons suggests a significant inconsistency in food quality or preparation. The fact that one customer explicitly stated they would have sought a refund if feasible underscores the severity of their negative experience.

While one reviewer did mention that the "place is clean," this single positive point is unlikely to outweigh the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the taste and edibility of the food for most potential customers. A clean environment is important, but the primary expectation of a restaurant is to serve palatable and enjoyable food.

The provided reviews do not offer any information about the services provided by Tops China, such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery options. There is also no mention of the restaurant's atmosphere or the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, beyond the cleanliness noted by one reviewer. Additionally, there is no promotional information available in the customer feedback.

For local users in Locust Grove, VA, considering Tops China, the strong negative feedback regarding the food quality should be the primary concern. The descriptions of "unedable" food and a "burnt taste" are significant red flags. While one appetizer, the crab rangoons, received a positive rating from one customer, this single positive comment is unlikely to inspire confidence given the severe criticisms of the other dishes. Potential customers should exercise extreme caution based on this recent feedback.

Given the severity of the negative reviews, it would be prudent for local users to explore alternative Chinese restaurants in the Locust Grove area that have received more positive and consistent feedback regarding their food quality. Relying on Tops China based on this recent information carries a significant risk of a highly unsatisfactory dining experience.

The phone number for Tops China is (540) 972-2008 or +1 540-972-2008. While potential customers could use this number to inquire about the reported issues, the direct and vehement nature of the negative feedback suggests that the underlying problems with food preparation might be substantial. The address, 36080 Goodwin Dr, Locust Grove, VA 22508, indicates its location for those who might still consider visiting, but the overwhelmingly negative food reviews should be a major deterrent.

In conclusion, recent customer feedback for Tops China in Locust Grove, VA, is overwhelmingly negative, with reviewers describing the food as inedible, disgusting, and tasting burnt. While one appetizer received a positive comment, the severity of the other criticisms suggests significant issues with the restaurant's food quality. Local users are strongly advised to consider these negative experiences before choosing to dine at or order from Tops China.

We ordered for pick up. The food was cold, the chicken was stringy and chewy, and the shrimp tasted like it was old. Was VERY disappointed. We threw the rest away.

Beware food will make you sick. The overused oil and charge extra for chili oil. Spent over $50 on food and wanted to charge $1 per chili oil.

Been eating here for over five years. Love it. They aren't afraid to make it spicy when it's supposed to be spicy. I just want to update. I've been eating here at least once a month for over seven years. I would put this food up against any competitor in Fredericksburg or Culpeper. Solid Chinese restaurant. Update 2024. When it's good, it's really good. But sometimes I was throwing away entire dishes that nobody would eat. It was very inconsistent and I got tired of wasting money on food that ended up in the trash. I go to Lins now and don't have this problem. I still go to the one in culpepper. That one is very good.
