Welcome to Top's China Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 713 Dominion Square Shopping Center in Culpeper, Virginia. Based on the limited customer feedback available, the perception of Top's China Restaurant appears to be somewhat divided, with mentions of both positive and negative experiences. One reviewer, a former patron, expressed disappointment in the current quality of the food, suggesting a decline over time. This customer reported that their dumplings tasted like they had freezer burn and the fried rice tasted as if it had been sitting in hot plastic. The only dish they found satisfactory was the beef lo-mein. Additionally, this reviewer raised concerns about the sanitary practices of displaying egg rolls, implying a potential issue with food handling. Due to these negative experiences, they indicated a likelihood of not returning for a significant period.

In contrast, another reviewer had a more positive experience, stating that "The food is good, hot and the portions are generous!" This feedback highlights positive aspects such as taste, temperature, and the quantity of food provided. This reviewer also specifically mentioned their enjoyment of the "Triple Delight" dish, suggesting it as a noteworthy item on the menu. This contrasting opinion indicates that the quality and overall experience at Top's China Restaurant might be inconsistent or that different customers have varying standards and preferences.

The environment of Top's China Restaurant, being located in a shopping center, likely offers a casual and convenient setting for diners. Restaurants in such locations typically cater to shoppers and local residents looking for a quick and accessible meal. The ambiance is expected to be functional and geared towards efficiency rather than elaborate decor. However, specific details about the restaurant's interior or seating arrangements are not provided in the reviews.

The services offered by Top's China Restaurant likely include both dine-in and takeout options, common for many Chinese restaurants. The mention of food being served "hot" suggests that they cater to immediate consumption, whether on-site or taken away. Delivery service is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, so it is unclear if this is an option they offer. Customers interested in delivery would need to inquire directly with the restaurant.

Features of Top's China Restaurant that can be gleaned from the reviews include potentially generous portion sizes and the availability of specific dishes like beef lo-mein and Triple Delight. However, concerns have been raised about the quality of certain items such as dumplings and fried rice, as well as potential issues with food handling practices, specifically the display of egg rolls. The inconsistency in food quality, as perceived by different customers, is also a notable feature. While some find the food "good," others have experienced issues with taste and freshness.

No information regarding promotional offers, discounts, or special deals at Top's China Restaurant is included in the provided customer feedback. To learn about any current promotions, customers would need to check local advertisements, the restaurant's website (if available), or contact them directly by phone. It is common for Chinese restaurants to offer lunch specials or combination deals, so it would be worthwhile to inquire about these when placing an order or visiting the restaurant.

In conclusion, Top's China Restaurant in Culpeper, VA, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. While one reviewer praised the good taste, hot temperature, and generous portions of the food, particularly recommending the Triple Delight, another long-time customer expressed concerns about a decline in quality, citing issues with the dumplings and fried rice, as well as potential sanitary concerns regarding the display of egg rolls. This suggests that the dining experience at Top's China Restaurant may not be consistently positive for all customers. Potential patrons should consider these differing opinions when deciding whether to dine here. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant in the Dominion Square Shopping Center area and value generous portions and hot food, Top's China Restaurant might be worth trying, especially if you are interested in dishes like the Triple Delight or beef lo-mein. However, it would be prudent to be mindful of the reported inconsistencies and potential quality issues with other menu items.

Given the conflicting feedback, it might be beneficial for new customers to try a few different dishes to form their own opinion on the quality and taste. Inquiring about the freshness of specific items and how they are prepared might also be helpful. As with any restaurant, experiences can vary, and it is always a good idea to consider the most recent reviews and perhaps try it for yourself to see if it meets your expectations for Chinese cuisine in Culpeper.

This place used to be good. I feel like the quality has taken a hit. My dumplings tasted like it had freezer burn and the fried rice tasted like it’s been sitting in hot plastic. The only thing that was good was the beef lo-mein. Why are the egg rolls on display like this? I’m pretty sure it’s unsanitary. I probably won’t come back for a very long time

Definitely the "Top" Chinese takeout in Culpeper! 🥡 I eat her quite often and hardly ever had any complaints. The fried rice can use a little more love but for a TAKE-OUT restaurant the food is delicious and prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for more of a fine dining experience I'd suggest going else where. I recommend the sweet and sour chicken or general tso chicken. Those are usually my go to especially for the lunch special at 6.95$ Dinner plates range from 8-15$ which is average for Chinese spots around here. Definitely give it a try and you be the judge! 😋

Ordered Cashew Chicken. Probably no worse than 10 cashews in it, and the chicken was coated in some horrible, strong, bittersweet sauce. Like a burnt barbecue sauce (?). I’ve had cashew chicken from several different places and, yes, there’s always small variations but I’ve never seen it slathered in sauce like this. The rest of the dish was OK, but the chicken 🥴🤢. And the weird pass thru window looked gross on the outside. Like nobody bothered walking around to clean it. I’ll drive back to Orange hungry next time I think.

I used to come here about once a week and buy lunch for the guys at the shop. All it took was one time that I had some uncooked chicken. I took it back, the lady would not replace it or refund it, and she was quite rude about it. That happened a couple of years ago but I've never been back. The quality of the food was never tops in any way. Lunch wasn't expensive and included a drink. That was a couple years ago but I've never returned.
