Don’t want to start with a negative thought, but, oh boy, one of the worst foods I’ve ever tried in my life. I actually got sick on the way home. My family did not like it either.. crab Rangoons were so-so; still very burned in the ends, and not a tasty feeling.. Panda Express definitely carries better rangoons. The seafood platter was so nasty.. I tasted chlorine in the “lobster” or whatever that was.. So disappointed .. We do very much appreciate our sweet server,MIA, who made our stay very pleasant and welcoming. P.S thank you for an unforgettable experience. Happy Holidays.
Food was great..Started with the Bo-Bo Tray. The host was nice and prompt. We were a bit ignored at the start of our night from the waitresses, but the gentleman that was there, approached us and welcomed us with tea after a while. They could use more staff. Overall the food was great. The fried rice and the rest of the food was prompt and fresh. The menu did have sushi, but it wasnt available. The food really made up for the mediocre service. The atmosphere music was very relaxing for a saturday night and the decor was what you expect.
So a weekend without the grands, we have to celebrate, we finally get a opportunity to eat what we choose without the little voices (who shouldn't have a vote) whining and nitpicking throught the cuisine. We wanted Asian and Tong's Tiki Hut was the people choice. Nice little hidden secret in Villa Park. Reasonably priced, convenient location, chill restaurant environment. Great recommendation! - Our server Johanne was very attentive and prompt.
I'm really bummed to say that this place has taken a turn for the worse. My wife and I ordered the meal for two on New Year's Day, and it was a letdown. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the family meals unless you’re okay with everything being exactly as advertised, even though their website claims you can make substitutions for an extra fee. We’re not fans of pork fried rice, which is included in the meal for two, as it has a gamey flavor to us. We prefer chicken or shrimp fried rice instead. I asked for a change, knowing it might cost more, and even acknowledged that there may be an upcharge in my online order. They outright refused, saying I had to buy shrimp fried rice separately and were stuck with the pork. It was really disappointing. The food was lukewarm and bland but salty at the same time. How is that possible? My wife and I have been coming to Tongs since we were kids, but with the drop in food quality and the ownership changes, I doubt we’ll be back anytime soon.
Never knew they have this place here in villa park. The place decorations is very awesome. So many food choices you can order and the service is also great. The shrimp fried rice and tempura was the best for me. Parking is not a problem for the place is on a strip mall.
