This was the first Hong Kong western restaurant I’ve been to after I saw Chinese Cooking Demystified’s video about it a while back. The kimchi bacon pasta was so good and honestly everything I want in a pasta - creamy, spicy, kimchi, and bacon. The Brussels sprouts were good but not the star in my opinion, unlike other comments. It’s pretty similar to wha you can get elsewhere so I’d get something more unique. I can’t wait to go back here.

I highly recommend the kimchi pasta !! The dish had fresh seafood and kimchi added such a nice flavor/texture to it. Hong Kong milk tea tasted very authentic! Portions are very generous and food comes out FAST.

This is a really cute example of a typical Hong Kong place. Definitely a full recommend on the braised pork or char siu from me. Their food is interesting as it almost tells the story of Hong Kong, with a mix or UK like Cantonese dishes, for example the char siu burger or the braised beef. It really gives input into what it maybe like to grow up there. The place is also beautifully decorated and the staff were highly attentive and polite. Also they take card.

I'm not sure when was this changed from a dessert shop to a HK western style cafe but I just lunched here today and the food was pretty good. Very favoring, yet at the same time very saucy and stuffed. I ordered their hot HK style milk tea, which I think does taste stronger than other milk tea and close to HK style. You add your own sugar to your level or sweetness though. I will probably try their cold one next time. I also ordered the Black pepper beef spaghetti and the Pork chop gratin with pineapple tomato sauce (rice). Both were pretty good. The spaghetti was very saucy and as you eat you will feel really stuffed. The pork chop rice has a bit strong pineapple taste which i feel it took over the tomato taste, but not that bad. The pork chop rice definitely is cheesy too. I will probably return to try out other food and the cold milk tea. And the waitress was very polite and friendly.

As a Hong Konger who used to live in LA and visit the San Gabriel Valley a lot and also used to be a frequent visitor of the last Cha chaan teng that's now occupied by the Tiger Sugar in Chinatown, I can say that TingTing's is a place I could definitely recommend. While the environment isn't anything similar to Alice's Kitchen in Temple City, I think they have done great job considering the equipment they had to work with when this used to be called More Sugar. TingTing's has only been open for 3 weeks as of this post, but I can tell that as the menu gets more populated it'll become more like the Cha chaan teng that Hong Kongers are familiar with. I ordered the Soy Glazed Chicken Wings which I originally expected to be baked like the traditional Hong Kong style, but they're fried instead which isn't bad. It's acceptable and does bring a new take to a traditional concept although it could be a bit less sweet. Also ordered for my table was the Baked Creamy Seafood over fried rice which came out exactly the way I wanted, although I would appreciate chopsticks as the standard utensil item for a HK style restaurant. Also ordered was the seafood spaghetti since the squid ink spaghetti was out of stock due to its popularity, but that was great as well although I wouldn't expect it in a usual Cha chaan teng. Oh also the milk tea is probably the best in Chinatown by far, although it could use some improvement with being a bit stronger. Overall I would recommend visiting here at least once because it's definitely a different experience compared to all the other places in Chinatown.
