Customer reviews for Tin Drum Asian Kitchen in Sandy Springs present a stark contrast in experiences. One reviewer was "so impressed" with their meal, highlighting the "vast" menu and the helpfulness of the owner, Seth, in guiding their order. They specifically enjoyed the sweet & sesame fried chicken with lo mein, spring roll, and crab/cheese roll, and their son enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and tempura shrimp. This customer described everything as "amazing" and expressed a strong intention to return.

However, another reviewer reported a significantly negative experience. They stated that their food was "missing components," and their Korean chicken breast was replaced with what they described as "2 kids chicken strips from who knows where?" The kontatsu was described as "watered down" and tasting like "bath water," the fries were cold, and an incorrect second sauce was found on a sandwich. They also noted that the chicken dishes were "watered down for some reason." Furthermore, their Thai coconut soup was reported to have "zero mushrooms and no protein," with only tofu offered as an alternative, which they found inappropriate for Thom kha gai.

Based on these reviews, Tin Drum Asian Kitchen in Sandy Springs offers a wide variety of Asian dishes, and some customers have had excellent experiences with both the food and service, particularly appreciating the owner's assistance. However, there are also significant concerns regarding missing ingredients, substitutions with lower-quality items, poorly prepared dishes (watered-down sauces and chicken, cold fries), incorrect orders, and a lack of key components in certain dishes like the Thai coconut soup. Potential customers should be aware of these inconsistent experiences.

No specific information regarding the restaurant's environment beyond it being a kitchen, additional services like delivery (though implied by the nature of a kitchen), or any promotional information is available in the provided text.

I was so impressed with my meal. The menu is so vast you can’t go wrong with whatever you get. The service was amazing and the owner Seth was very helpful as to choosing what I would like to try. I had the sweet & sesame fried chicken with lo mein, spring roll, crab/cheese roll, and my son had the teriyaki chicken and tempura shrimp. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a great experience.

The food was missing components, they replaced my Korean chicken breast with 2 kids chicken strips from who knows where? The kontatsu was watered down and tasted like bath water, the fries were cold, there was a second sauce on the sandwich which should not have been there, the chicken dishes were also watered down for some reason. Thai coconut soup had zero mushrooms and no protein and I was only given the option of tofu, this is Thom ka gai not miso soup, chucklehead. Not happy.

I honestly should have gone with the reviews I saw online but decided I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I wrong!. From the moment I walked in, I knew it was going downhill rapidly but I still kept pushing forward. No one greeted us when we got in as one gentleman was on the phone ; though he made eye contact that was about as far as that conversation was going to go. My greeting fell on deaf ears as it seemed I was greeting myself. Since it was our first time there I had expected at least a good afternoon what can we do for you. Instead I got another gentleman who I figured was a cashier (ha-ha he was standing by the register), who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here and though I indicated it was our first time here and wanted to know the process; he had no intention to provide any further assistance than ringing up our order. Even McDonalds has better customer service. I stumbled and bumbled through placing our order and I definitely left no tip. The service was horrible to say the least. First horrible experience I have had an Asian restaurant and there are quite a few in the area that are much better options. This was not even the fast food of Asian dining; it was below mediocre. Now on to the food…disappointing at another level. The rice tasted as though it had been cooked from the day before, and the slivers of cucumber were certainly not fresh. The chicken was fried to the right level of crispy and was fresh for sure, so I can give them a 10/10 for the chicken. The general tso was a sure miss, rice tasted stale and the chicken was meh. I have had authentic dishes and this was not it. One of my son’s had the ramen with salmon and it was a chunk of salmon boiled in water and dropped over the noodles. Flavor was mission on all levels. $70 poorer and highly disappointed but know it will not happen again. Location needs to work on customer service and just service in general.

Had a great "fast food" experience here. Service was fine, food was fresh, hot and came out pretty quickly. I had a veggie spring roll which was quite greasy but very tasty. Also had the teriyaki glaze w/tofu. It had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. On the negative side, the dish had more rice than anything else and not much tofu.

This is NOT Pad Thai... I sent it back and ask for refund. Never ordering Pad Thai from this fast food chain.
