Customers have shared positive experiences with the food at Tijo's Kreyol Kitchen. One reviewer who stopped in for lunch enjoyed the griot (fried pork) served with sweet plantains and rice and peas. They also appreciated the gravy from the chicken in sauce, noting its good amount of heat and the freshness of the meat. The rice was described as fluffy and light, and the plantains as a perfect complement to the meat.

Another customer, trying Haitian food for the first time, described the food as "amazing" and highlighted the fast service and delicious spinach stew, pork, and rice and beans.

While the overall food experience seems positive, one review noted that the chicken and beef patties had a pastry-to-meat ratio that favored the pastry, which was described as buttery and flaky with a good bite. The meat filling was flavorful, but the reviewer suggested a smaller pastry to allow the meat's flavor to stand out more.

Stopped in for lunch and they had a good selection of choices to pick from. I got the griot with sweet plantain and rice and peas. My husband likes all his food moist with sauce so we got some gravy from the chicken in sauce and it was so good. Good amount of heat in the sauce and the meat was fresh and not tough. The rice was fluffy and light and the plantains were a perfect match to the meat. We also got 2 chicken patties and 2 beef patties and they were ok. The meat to pastry ratio is off so you end up eating more pastry than meat which is disappointing. The meat had great flavor but they should make it smaller so the meat stands out more. The dough was buttery and flaky and had a good bite. Overall, it was a good experience. The customer service was a bit dry but polite. I would definitely go back to try more things and would recommend this spot for authentic Haitian food.

I'm not from the area but as a lover of great Haitian Cuisine this place is great. I have made detours from dozens of miles away to come to this place. They people are friendly but I come for the food. They really know how to cook there. All the signature cultural dishes are done well. It's not the nicest looking place, more of a hole in the wall but definitely worth the time, money, and effort to get some good ole haitian food. Keep it up people.

If you heard about food made with love but have never experienced it I suggest you try the food here because the food at Tijo's is made with love. I recommend Griot (fried pork), Poul Nan Sos (chicken stew), Legim (eggplant stew), Sos Pwa (bean sauce), and last but not least Pikliz.
