TiHu The Noodle House, located at 47-05 Francis Lewis Blvd, Bayside, NY 11361, is a restaurant specializing in Taiwanese cuisine. Based on customer reviews, the restaurant presents a mixed experience.

Some customers have praised the restaurant for its authentic Taiwanese flavors, particularly highlighting the spicy noodle soup with stir-fried beef. This dish was described as delicious, with a well-balanced heat level. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere, along with a welcoming owner, were also mentioned as positive aspects of the dining experience.

However, other customers have expressed disappointment with the food quality. Disappointing Experience at Taiwanese Cuisine Restaurant I recently visited a restaurant that promoted itself as offering authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. I ordered the "Braised Beef Noodle" and "Salt & Pepper Chicken." The braised beef noodle was particularly disappointing. It lacked authenticity and flavor, with a bland taste and only five thin pieces of beef that seemed to have been sitting in the refrigerator or freezer for a while. The beef lacked the fresh taste I was hoping for and had a freezer-burnt flavor instead. The salt and pepper chicken was another letdown. It lacked seasoning entirely, forcing me to add salt and pepper myself at home. Despite the presence of basil, there was no noticeable basil flavor or aroma in the chicken. Additionally, the flour coating was crispy but soggy, likely due to an incorrect frying ratio. The restaurant's interior decoration is warm and inviting. However, the service left much to be desired. The front lady was unfriendly and had a poker face, which did not contribute positively to the dining experience. Additionally, it seems the owner does monitor reviews but does not update the menu on Google Maps. I noticed that the first review was posted 9-10 months ago, and since then, many dishes have been added or removed without any updates online. This lack of transparency makes it challenging for customers to know what to expect. Overall, this restaurant did not live up to its claim of serving authentic Taiwanese cuisine. My experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it to others seeking genuine Taiwanese flavors.

Very friendly owner, the Taiwanese braised pork over rice was good and salt and pepper chicken was good too! They ran out of that pretty quickly. Fried chicken cutlet is another alternative. Tea was good and not too sweet. Cold noodles are both skippable.

Our favorite neighbor AKA foodie pro shared with us that the boss of Skewer Hot Pot just opened their new spot. As fans of their food, we couldn’t wait to give it a try. The decor of TIHU is simple and artsy with cozy ambiance. There is a great variety of dishes from Szechuan to Taiwanese and we had a hard time making up our minds. The pickled veggie was flavorful & appetizing and the texture of potato was smooth. My personal favorite was the Braised Beef Combo which came with brisket, tenderloin and tripe. It’s really chewy, tender and braised perfectly. The broth of beef noodles was flavorful with soft beef and chewy noodles. We all love the chicken over rice which was recommended by the boss, it’s a little spicy but extremely appetizing. The braised Pork over rice was my daughter’s favorite dish. The braised pork was juicy and soft with flavorful sauce.

The food is greasy, oily, not tasty. Will never come back! We order the scallion pancake- it was full of oil, the oil was dripping all over, no taste, not salty at all. Let’s not forget everything was overpriced! WILL NEVER RETURN! The minced pork over rice was greasy as well. Popcorn chicken has no taste and just taste like nothing. You had to get your own water and the place was small.
