Based on recent feedback from customers who have dined at or ordered from The Wok, experiences appear to be somewhat varied. One customer noted that the food was fresh and the customer service was commendable. However, this same customer expressed disappointment with their Sesame Chicken dish, as it unexpectedly contained spice, which was not their preference for this particular menu item. They also mentioned that even their won ton soup had a spicy element. This suggests that some dishes at The Wok might have a spicier profile than typically expected for standard American-Chinese fare.
The same reviewer also pointed out a perceived limitation in the menu options, specifically the lack of an option to upgrade rice or substitute noodles for an additional charge. This inflexibility in customization, coupled with prices being perceived as higher than those of other similar establishments, led this customer to express uncertainty about returning in the future.
Another customer shared a more critical experience, detailing an order of orange chicken and noodles that cost $17 and included only a single piece of broccoli. Initially, the vegetables were omitted from the order, requiring the customer to return to the restaurant. Upon returning, they were given a small Togo cup containing just one cold piece of broccoli. This order did not include a drink. This customer expressed significant disappointment, especially as they had hoped to find a satisfactory local Chinese restaurant. The perceived lack of value for money led this reviewer to state that they would not be returning and would instead opt for a national fast-food chain.
Considering this feedback, it's important for potential customers to be aware of these recent experiences. While one customer praised the freshness of the food and the quality of the customer service, the unexpected spiciness of certain dishes like Sesame Chicken and won ton soup might be a point of consideration for those who prefer milder flavors. It may be advisable to inquire about the spice level of dishes when placing an order.
The comments regarding pricing and the value received for the cost are also noteworthy. The perception that prices are higher compared to other local options, combined with experiences of missing or minimal side items like vegetables, could influence a customer's decision to dine at The Wok. The lack of flexibility in substituting or upgrading sides, such as rice or noodles, for an additional charge, might also be a drawback for some diners who prefer more customization in their meals.
Given the limited information available online, particularly the absence of details about the restaurant's environment, specific services offered (such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery), and any current promotional information, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive introduction. The existing customer reviews primarily focus on specific food items and the overall value proposition.
To gain a better understanding of The Wok's environment, it would be beneficial to visit the location at 2028 KY-53 in La Grange, KY. Observing the cleanliness, ambiance, and seating arrangements would provide insights into the dining experience. Similarly, inquiring directly with the restaurant staff about their services – whether they offer dine-in, takeout, or delivery – and their hours of operation would be helpful for planning a visit or placing an order.
Regarding the features of The Wok, based on the limited reviews, it's difficult to pinpoint unique selling points. The emphasis on fresh food, as mentioned by one reviewer, could be a positive attribute. However, the issues raised by other customers regarding unexpected spiciness, pricing, and the quantity/quality of side items suggest areas where improvements might be needed to ensure consistent customer satisfaction.
As there is no promotional information available in the provided text, it would be recommended to contact The Wok directly or check local listings and social media (if they have a presence) for any ongoing specials or discounts. This could potentially influence a first-time visitor's decision or provide added value to regular customers.
In conclusion, The Wok in La Grange, KY, is a Chinese restaurant that has received mixed reviews recently. While one customer appreciated the fresh food and good service, others expressed concerns about unexpected spice levels, pricing relative to the value received, and issues with order accuracy and completeness. Potential customers may want to consider these recent experiences and perhaps inquire about specific dishes or customization options before placing an order or dining in. For a complete understanding of what The Wok offers in terms of environment, full services, and any special promotions, direct contact with the restaurant is advised.

Food was fresh and customer service was very good. Just disappointed in my meal. Ordered Sesame Chicken and it was spicy which I was surprised by. I like spice but I order sesame chicken when I don’t want something spicy. Even my won ton soup tasty spicy. I also wish they had an option to upgrade your rice or get noodles for an added charge. With the prices higher than other places and with my meal today, I don’t know as if I will be back anytime soon.
Charged me $17 for orange chicken and noodles and ONE piece of broccoli. Didn’t give me the vegetables at first so I had to go back in. Then gave me a tiny Togo cup of one cold piece of broccoli. Didn’t even come with a drink. I was really hoping to have a nice place right up the road from me but definitely won’t be coming back. Food tasted fine but really a bummer how they rip you off. So instead of supporting local I guess I’ll go to Panda Express
Very questionable business practice. We will not be returning to patronize this business. We were given the wrong order. Called and told to bring the food back, after driving 30mins to patronize their business then 30mins home, because the owner wouldn't budge on eating the difference of the bill for their mistake. It was a loss to them once my son had the food in his possession and walked out the door; anyone whose worked in food service knows they toss it and take the loss anyways. So, were they planning to give the order to the original patron? Did they give ours to someone who brought it back? I refused to take that chance and was charged additional for their inability to do their job. That's not safe nor good business practice.
The food is amazing! The vegetables are always fresh and cooked to perfection. Everything we have tried so far is wonderful. We usually order on Beyond Menu and then pick it up in the restaurant. Extremely easy and convenient.
Atmosphere & Service get 3 stars because I ordered to go so really, idk. Food on the other hand, not so great. & understandably why I only eat from places I have history with. I ordered a Chicken Pad Thai & asked for it a little spicy. There were no spices, not even salt and pepper. It was literally noodles, chicken that was slimy) and veggies that were old and shriveled up. I am not a picky eater, it just wasn’t what it was supposed to be. $13 wasted. TASTE OF THAI IN CRESTWOOD IS WHERE ILL CONTINUE TO GO
