The South Street Grille - Ashland, OH

Old time atmosphere with wood floors, tall windows, and tin ceiling. Nice staff and food was terrific. The Brown Butter Cake with homemade cinnamon ice cream is one of my favorite desserts. I had the BB King (Brisket sandwich with bacon jam) with tater tots the size of hushpuppies. The wife had the salmon with Tater tots. This place never disappoints.

I love the size of the food portion....The drinks were very refreshing.. appetizer was really yummy 😋🤤 and hot and good. I will say if you are greeted a little better once you take your seat downstairs and be more attentive to the paying customer. I would have tipped no problem. The waiter was nice the two times she came over

It's an odd location but very nice. Parking was available half a block away. Easy to get to. It is located in an alley. There was a ramp to access the door. There was a wait (25 min) for dining. I asked if they had a bar (located on a lower level) we could sit at. We were sat right away. The bar area was a little small, around 7 tables, but the bar sat around 10. It was a little loud in there. The server came and got our drink orders and have us menus. The server took our order, and we got our food about 30 min later (they were busy and the main dining area was in a wait). We got a cauliflower steak dinner and the og hamburger. Both were pretty good. The bathroom was clean.

Service was great and absolutely love the indoor atmosphere! Ordered the perch bites, meat candy, taco tots, and side of green beans. Taco tots and meat candy were awesome!! Wish the perch bites hadn’t had the skin on them.

New to Ashland and wanted to try something in town. Had candied meat for an app and it was amazing. Their BBQ sauce is made in house and a sauce that should be sold in stores. For my meal, I ordered their burger of the month which was a Reuben burger and that was delicious as well. Highly recommend. Super affordable as well and great location.
