Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences at The Rice House appear to be somewhat inconsistent. One reviewer had a highly positive experience, mentioning that they ordered the "Ultimate Fried Rice," duck and fried noodles, and two duck ends. They described the food as "really good" and were particularly impressed by the size of the duck ends, noting they were "huge." This customer even traveled from Illinois to try The Rice House and found it "worth the trip," expressing their intention to return.

In contrast, another reviewer shared a disappointing experience. This customer stated that The Rice House used to be their "go to spot" before they moved out of the area. Upon returning for lunch, they ordered "deluxe steamed rice with bean sprouts and broccoli, extra duck juice." However, they received fried rice instead of steamed rice and found the dish to contain very little meat, specifically mentioning only two shrimp in the entire box. This discrepancy between their order and what they received left them feeling that their $15 was wasted, especially given the 30-minute distance they now live from the restaurant. Consequently, they stated they would not be returning in the near future.

These reviews present a mixed picture of The Rice House. The positive review highlights the potential for delicious food, generous portions (particularly the duck ends), and a dining experience that can be worth traveling for. The negative review, however, points to issues with order accuracy and the quantity of certain ingredients, leading to significant customer dissatisfaction. The discrepancy in rice preparation (fried vs. steamed) and the lack of expected meat are significant concerns.

As a Chinese restaurant in Florissant, MO, The Rice House is part of the local food scene. The environment of the restaurant is not described in either of the provided reviews. The positive review focuses solely on the quality and quantity of the food, while the negative review centers on the order inaccuracy and the perceived value for money. Therefore, no direct information about the ambiance, cleanliness, or decor of the establishment can be gleaned from these comments.

The services offered by The Rice House can be inferred to include takeout, as both reviewers mention taking food away from the premises. Whether The Rice House offers dine-in or delivery services is not mentioned in these reviews. Customers interested in these options would need to contact the restaurant directly.

Features of The Rice House that can be gleaned from the reviews include the "Ultimate Fried Rice" and the duck dishes (including the "huge" duck ends), which appear to be well-received by at least one customer. The menu also seems to offer options beyond standard rice dishes, such as fried noodles. However, a significant negative feature highlighted is the potential for order inaccuracies and inconsistency in the quantity of ingredients, as reported by the dissatisfied customer.

Got the Ultimate Fried Rice, Duck and fried noodles, and 2 duck ends. Food was really good. Duck ends were huge! Came over from IL to try this place. Was worth the trip, will be going back again.

I’m disappointed this use to be my go to spot and I moved out of the area. I was in the area and wanted lunch, I ordered deluxe steamed rice with bean sprouts and broccoli, extra duck juice. When I got home I had fried rice and there was hardly any meat. I had 2 shrimp, in the whole box. I’m upset I paid $15 and I feel like I wasted my money cause it’s not what I wanted and I stay 30 mins away now. Safe to say I won’t be back any time soon.

My first and last time going. I order sesame tofu fried hard. Waited for 40 minutes and to get home and it was regular fried. Upon leaving the employee told me to make sure I give 5 star. Never and the fact that it had good flavor it may have been good. I guess I’ll never know!

The restaurant needs to be scrubbed from the ceiling to the floor. I had not been in there in years, but I went to pick up an order for someone, and was disgusted at the amount of grime on the ceilings, the walls and the floor. I can only imagine how the kitchen must look. I will never go back there again. I am surprised they had grade A on the door.

Disappointed in this restaurant especially during the pandemic. Seems as if the focus is on the money and not the quality of the service. In this matter the food to be exact. Paid over $30 in lunch and the cost wasn’t the problem. I don’t mind pricey food if it’s worth it. The Philly cheesesteak wontons were mostly air as you can see in the photo. We paid $10 for fried air totally disrespectful. The duck and noodles that I ordered weren’t good neither. The noodles were horrible fresh. You have to let them sit a couple of hours so the juice is absored into the noodles. The duck was good but I had to fight around the bone. I’m willing to give them another go just not this year.
