Based on recent customer reviews, The Rice Box offers a pleasant dining experience, particularly in its outdoor seating area. One reviewer, who typically dislikes eating outdoors, found it to be a "pleasant little place" with "incredibly good food." They described the atmosphere as "quiet and cozy" and noted the presence of propane heaters to ensure warmth on colder days. This customer also praised the employees as "sweet and helpful."
Another first-time visitor found the walk-in ordering process to be easy, contrasting with an online ordering system that seemed overwhelming. They were warmly welcomed, and a staff member (noted for his mustache) was particularly nice. This reviewer enjoyed the outdoor seating, finding the indoor atmosphere more "live" but preferring the quieter ambiance outside. They also mentioned that the staff provided a "sweet dip" for the egg rolls, which they found "amazing." While their children were not as fond of the food (though they usually like Chinese food), the adults loved it and found the portion sizes to be generous, suggesting that sharing between two adults is possible.
The Rice Box appears to offer a welcoming environment with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor area is highlighted for its pleasant and cozy atmosphere, equipped with heaters for comfort. The service is consistently described as friendly and helpful, with staff going the extra mile, such as providing a special dip for egg rolls. The menu is reported to be easy to navigate for walk-in orders, and the food is generally well-received by adults, with generous portion sizes. While one family's children were not particularly fond of the dishes, this may be due to personal preferences rather than the quality itself.
For local users in Houston, Texas, The Rice Box offers a Chinese dining experience with a focus on a pleasant outdoor setting and friendly service. It seems like a great spot to enjoy a meal, especially if you appreciate a cozy atmosphere and good food. No specific promotional information was available in the provided reviews.

I normally dislike eating outdoors, but it was a pleasant little place with incredibly good food. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, there are propane heaters to keep you warm on colder days. I really enjoyed myself and the employees were so sweet and helpful.
Ok we went for the first time tonight. Kids weren't fond it and they love Chinese food Husband and I loved it! Online to me seemed over whelming to think to order. Walk in was welcoming menus was EASY to order from! The guy I can't remember his name(had a mustache lol) was so nice. We ordered went outside... inside felt LIVE outside everyone seemed quit and boring lmao. We 4 were definitely a little louder oooppps. We hung out ate and love the outside tables(I enjoy eating outside). The guys(with the mustache) gave us some sweet dip for the egg rolls WHICH WAS AMAZING! Definitely going back without kids lol they boring jk they don't do change well but they didn't complain about the food just not their usual. (Boooo only photo I got) great size portions I agree with that husband and I could have shared.
First time trying rice box. The staff was patient and friendly. I didn't eat inside of the establishment. They do have a bar area along with outside dining. I ordered as take out. I like that they give an option of awaiting inside or they will bring your food to your vehicle once it's ready. When I got home and opened the containers, the amount of food was enough for two serving easily. I ordered Mongolian chicken with white rice. I would have like more veggies but I'll order more next go round. Overall it was very flavorful. It wasn't heavily salted, they provided plenty of condiments to coincide. The crab ragoon was 🔥. The veggie egg roll was good as well I'm just use to larger in size. I will revisit this establishment again to try other items on the menu. Parking is limited but definitely worth walking around the block or across the street.
Food just hit the spot and the servers were on point the entire time we spent there. The cashier (think his name was clutch ) definitely helped me out on what to get! It’s my first time here and I Came all the way from the woodlands because they don’t have anything like this up here, It was well worth the drive.
I love stopping by this place. The food is consistent, huge portions, and very friendly staff. I always seem to come in when the bearded dude with long hair is on register, which I’ve started taking as a sign of good fortune. His suggestions never fail me.
