Customer Reviews
So delicious, so friendly, so comfortable. I want to go back here every day! Every dish we had was fantastic. I would like to try absolutely everything on the menu. It is a small restaurant but they did an excellent job fitting arranging the seating to accommodate. I could see there being a wait here on the weekends! Pro tip: Their online menu has pictures of everything
There were lots of people when my friends and I got to the restaurant, so it was an hour wait. But the food is delicious so totally worth the wait. Staff are very nice. All the food are filled with lots of flavors.
My husband and I shared: - Bangkok Balls - Galam Plee Pad Nam Pla (Thai Cabbage) - Ma Yi Shang Shu (Ants Climbing a Tree) - Tom Yum Noodle - Hawaiian Butter Mochi Cake - Xi Duo Shi (Hong Kong French Toast) - Ube Horchata My favorite things were the Tom Yum Noodles, the Hong Kong French Toast, and the Thai Cabbage. The Tom Yum Noodles are such a fun take on what is usually a soup. The only thing I was disappointed by was the butter mochi cake. This is one of my favorite Hawaiian desserts, but this one seemed to be lacking butter. I'd love to come back and try the rest of the menu because everything looked delicious.
I was really looking forward to trying The Ginger Pig, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The Bangkok Balls were incredibly dry and lacked any flavor. The dumplings were only warm, not hot, though the chili oil was a redeeming factor. The cucumbers were probably the best part of my meal. The biggest disappointment was the “Korean Cornflake Dog” it was nothing like an actual Korean corndog, which left me wondering why it’s even on the menu. On top of that, the service was off putting. When I went to order, a staff member took the takeout menu right out of my hands, handed me a restaurant menu, and then threw the takeout menu away while I was still standing there, as if I had COVID. It was a bizarre and unwelcoming experience. I honestly don’t understand how this place has a Michelin rating. The food was mediocre at best, and the service made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. Definitely not worth the visit.
One of my favorite spots in Highlands area. I’ve been here probably 10 times and the food and atmosphere is awesome every time. It’s always busy so I recommend getting there soon after they open. Our server was awesome. Only piece of feedback is we waited about 20 minutes for someone to come by our table so that we could order food, but by the time she got there she was so nice! I know they recently switched to having servers take orders vs. ordering at the front, so it’s probably just a logistic thing they’re still figuring out.
