Customer reviews offer valuable insights into the offerings and atmosphere of The Fortune Cookie. One reviewer shared a positive experience with their beef broccoli with white rice order. They noted the promptness of the order preparation and were pleased that their specific request (no carrots) was accurately fulfilled. The reviewer also highlighted the generous portions of beef, broccoli, and rice, emphasizing that the meal was "very filling" and "oh, so good!" The fact that the food remained hot even after being picked up and taken home suggests that The Fortune Cookie pays attention to packaging for takeout orders, ensuring that customers can enjoy their meals at their convenience without sacrificing temperature or quality.

Another reviewer specifically praised The Fortune Cookie for its "excellent lunch specials." This is a significant feature for local users looking for affordable and satisfying midday meals. The availability of "lots of options to choose" within the lunch special menu indicates a variety that can cater to different preferences. The reviewer specifically mentioned the orange chicken as "delicious," further highlighting a popular menu item. Notably, the lunch specials come complete with fried rice and a rangoon, offering a well-rounded and satisfying meal package. The price point of $11 for "a ton of food which all tasted great" underscores the value and affordability that The Fortune Cookie offers, particularly during lunchtime.

In terms of service, the staff at The Fortune Cookie are described as "friendly," contributing to a positive overall experience for customers. While the physical environment is noted as being "a little old," the reviewer found it "perfectly fine" and even "sort of charming." This suggests that while the decor might not be modern or luxurious, the restaurant provides a comfortable and acceptable setting for dining. The charm mentioned could imply a cozy and perhaps familiar atmosphere that appeals to regular customers and those seeking a more traditional, unpretentious dining experience.

The seating capacity is mentioned as being "enough for 12ish people," indicating that The Fortune Cookie is a relatively small establishment. This could contribute to a more intimate and perhaps quieter dining atmosphere, especially during off-peak hours. The reviewer who visited for lunch noted that they arrived a little after 11 AM and had the place to themselves, suggesting that it might be a good option for those seeking a less crowded lunch spot, at least during the earlier part of the lunch hour.

The positive experience led the lunch reviewer to express their intention to return and to recommend The Fortune Cookie to others, advising them to "do yourself a favor and get some lunch here." This strong recommendation further reinforces the positive aspects of the restaurant, particularly its lunch specials, food quality, friendly service, and affordability.

I ordered the beef broccoli with white rice. It didn't take long for my order to be ready. I picked it up, took it home, and didn't eat it right away; however, it was still hot when I did. It was just as I ordered (with no carrots!). There was plenty of beef, broccoli, and rice. It was very filling and, oh, so good!

Stopped by for lunch, they have excellent lunch specials. Lots of options to choose, (I got the orange chicken, delicious) meals come with friend rice and a rangoon. I paid $11 for a ton of food which all tasted great. The staff is friendly, the place is a little old but perfectly fine, it's even sort of charming. There's enough seating for 12ish people but we got there a little after 11 and had the place to ourselves. We will be back, do yourself a favor and get some lunch here.

food was gross. I got sesame shrimp and the shrimp was all stuck together from the deep fryer and the batter was thick and hard. the sauce was horrible like corn starch all balled up in a watery sugar brine. Take my word for it. Go across the highway to a real chinese restaurant. This was the night shift workers. I can only hope that the day help knows how to cook. NOT impressed at all and I blew $16.00 on the whole mess. I hope the night animals enjoyed it cause I dumped it in the parking lot for them to eat. Also it had NO vegies of any kind in it. Picture uploaded for your astonishment

It was our first time eating here. Go inside, floors chairs ceiling everything is dirty dirty dirty. Hasnt been scrubbed or wiped down clearly ever. Lady at front was nice enough, no problem with her. Wife and I ordered schechwuan beef and general tso chicken, and one order of fried wontons. That all came out to like $26. Portion sizes are pretty good, but youre paying a lot of money so it better be big. My schechwuan beef was decent, it had some wok seared flavor and if i was going to go back thats what I'd get. Wife hated her chicken, it was lots of gristle and the sauce smelled funny. Egg rolls were okay, rice was pretty average. However, what knocked this down from 3 to 2 was the fried wontons. You would think there was supposed to be something inside it, like a cream cheese or meat or something. These things were just fried super greasy chunks of batter with literally like a speck of ground pork or meat or something brown. They were so greasy and many were undercooked that they were inedible. I threw them away. Over $5 for those. Just flat disgusting soggy chunks of greasy batter. Probably wont be back anytime soon.
