About The Dim Sum Co.

The Dim Sum Co., located at 8900 Westminster Blvd., Westminster, CA 92683, USA, provides a convenient takeout service for those craving dim sum in the area. It's important to note that this establishment is a takeout-only "restaurant," so there is no option to sit down and dine on-site.

The food at The Dim Sum Co. is generally considered decent for a to-go establishment, offering a quick fix for dim sum cravings. Some of the popular items include the Pork & Shrimp Dumplings, noted for being large and meat-filled, and the Shrimp Dumplings, which have a generous shrimp filling, although the skin may not hold up as well for takeout.

Other items on the menu include Turnip Cake, described as having a creamy texture with adequate filling, and Taro Puff, which is tasty but best enjoyed hot and fresh. The Crescent Dumplings, however, have been noted for having a shell that is not crispy and is too thick.

For noodle lovers, the Chow Fun has a good flavor and chewy texture, while the Lotus Sticky Rice is reported to be good with some filling. The Vietnamese Ice Coffee, however, may not meet everyone's expectations as it has been described as too chocolate-y rather than having a sweetened espresso flavor.

Some customers have specific preferences, with typical dim sum items like shrimp dumpling (har gow), shrimp rice paper, fried shrimp and chive, and pork and shrimp dumpling (xiu mai) being popular choices. On the other hand, the Fried BBQ Bun, with its sweet flavor, might taste odd as a savory item to some, and the Chow Fun and fried rice have been described as bland (though soy sauce can be added to the fried rice to enhance flavor).

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to satisfy your dim sum cravings in Westminster, The Dim Sum Co. offers a takeout option with a variety of choices.

We were in town for a business conference without a personal vehicle. Wish we had known beforehand that this "restaurant" is TAKEOUT only! Pictures online looked like the potential to sit down and dine. The food that we ordered was decent, even though it was lukewarm by the time we returned with the food to our hotel. The Crescent Dumplings were not as crispy as I've experienced from other dim sum places, it was thick and gooey/glutinous. We ordered Pork & Shrimp Dumplings (large and meat filled), Shrimp Dumplings (large shrimp filling but dumpling skin does not fare well as takeout), Turnip Cake (creamy texture with adequate filling), Taro Puff (tasty though wish they were eaten hot and fresh), Crescent Dumplings (shell was not crispy and was too thick), Chow Fun (noodles had a good flavor and chewy texture), Lotus Sticky Rice (good sticky rice with some filling), Vietnamese Ice Coffee (was too chocolate-y in flavor not the sweetened espresso flavor we expected).

This is a place where you can get your quick fix for dim sum. Food is pretty decent here for a togo only place. I usually get the typical dim sum items like shrimp dumpling (har gow), shrimp rice paper, fried shrimp and chive, and pork and shrimp dumpling (xiu mai). Items I don't like as much: Fried BBQ Bun - had a sweet flavor, so it tasted odd as a savory food item. Chow fun was really bland. Same with fried rice, but technically you can add soy sauce to enhance the flavor.

Hole in the wall dim sum, take away only. Food is great and freshly made. Personally recommend: xiao long bao, fried shrimp chives dumplings, siew mai, beef tripes. Taste: 7.8/10 Affordability: 6.8/10 Recommend: 8/10 *tip bring disposable gloves and enjoy away Also special recommendation for the saigon ice coffee a few stores down.

Been coming here for dimsum for several years now. They offer reasonably and tasty dimsum dishes from your har gao to siomai. Even with long lines, they are efficient and fast. As mentioned by another reviewer, the outside waiting area can use some sweeping once in a while.

This is my favorite dim sum place in the Westminster area. I’ve been to a lot of other places and have been either disappointed by the food, the price or the locale. The Dim Sum Co is a take out only joint that is inside of a grocery store that serves dim sum only. The menu may not be extensive as the sit down restaurants, but all the basics are there with some specialties available only on Friday to Sunday. The prices are reasonable for the quantity and the quality and taste is better than some sit downs. The trick is to order online so you don’t have to wait outside for your order. Tip#2 come in time when they tell you cause the order will be ready. Tip#3 bring a cooler or a blanket to cover the food for the car ride home so the dim sum stays hot.
