About The China
The China, located in Quincy, Massachusetts, USA, operates as a bar that is categorized under the Chinese Restaurant platform. This establishment offers both food and drinks to its patrons.
Environment: The China is noted for having a significant number of TVs, making it a place where customers can watch sports games. This suggests a sports bar-like atmosphere.
Services: Customer reviews present a mixed picture of the service. One reviewer had a severely negative experience with a manager who displayed a "horrible attitude" after a customer found mold in their food. This incident escalated to the point where the police were called due to a disagreement over payment for uneaten food. Another review indicates that while the staff might be friendly (this detail is from a separate, unprovided review mentioned within the text), the specific incident described paints a picture of unprofessional management.
Features: The food quality at The China appears to be inconsistent and has received negative feedback in the provided reviews. One customer, a chef, described their experience as poor, citing under-seasoned wings and uneaten dishes by their family due to concerns about freshness after finding mold in a burger bun. Another reviewer found the chicken fried rice to be surprisingly bland and the egg rolls in the Pu Pu Platter to be not good. The Pu Pu Platter itself was described as "ok," and other items were also just "ok." On a more positive note, the drinks are reported to be heavy on the alcohol. The chicken wings with duck sauce and the chicken teriyaki are mentioned as the only items the second reviewer would consider ordering again.
Promotional Information: The presence of many TVs for watching games could be considered a promotional feature for sports enthusiasts looking for a place to watch while having drinks. The fact that the drinks are "heavy on the alcohol" might appeal to some customers. However, the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding food quality, including an incident involving mold, and unprofessional management severely overshadow any potential promotional aspects. There is no indication of any specific discounts or special offers in the provided reviews.
In summary, The China in Quincy, Massachusetts, functions as a bar with a sports-oriented environment due to its numerous TVs. While it serves food categorized as Chinese cuisine, customer reviews raise significant concerns about the quality and freshness of the food, including an alarming report of mold. The service experience also appears to be inconsistent, with at least one severe instance of unprofessional management. The only potentially positive features mentioned are the strong drinks and the suitability for watching sports. Local users should be aware of the reported issues before considering a visit.

Foremost I’m a Chef. My childhood friend took me here because I’m skeptic when it comes to Chinese food restaurant in Boston. We all know the best Chinese food, located in New York City not Boston or Especially Quincy. We ordered our food, came in less than 15 minutes. As my niece was biting into her burger she found a green mold in the middle of her bun, we of course complained and the manager below had a horrible attitude. We no longer wanted to eat any of the food because we didn’t know what else was rotten or not fresh. We told her we didn’t feel comfortable paying the full price and she was upset when I stated that. She called the police!! Very nice police officer came & you can tell he agreed with us & was able to mediate the situation, we only paid for the rest of the food that we hardly ate because we were scared to eat any old or rotten spoiled food. Can look at the pictures. Pictures don’t lie. And you can tell by her face, her energy and way of approaching any customers is unprofessional. Who calls the police, because of rotten food, and customer not feeling ok with eating the food. We hardly ate. I ate 3 wings, hardly seasoned, my daughter didn’t eat her soup or egg rolls, my son didn’t eat his number 24. I wouldn’t advice any to bring their family here.
The food looks good but it's not so great. The rice tasted so bland, I honestly never in my life had bad chicken fried rice, so I was very surprised to know you mess up chicken fried rice. We also ordered The Pu Pu Platter, which was ok. The egg rolls weren't good. Everything else was ok. As for drinks, they are definitely heavy on the alcohol. I would come back because they have lots of TVs to watch the games, I would only order the chicken wings with duck sauce or the chicken teriyaki.
I ordered. Food 2 hours ago and still wating. I got 2 drinks. And and still waiting people next to me. Came in after I finished. My 2 drinks ordered their drinks and food and got their food before. I got my food not happy Judy. I understand New Year's Eve busy. However people in line waiting ordered their food and already got it and let's get the shit show going... Adding on 1/4/25--- my food when I got it was not even hot some was cold most warm not a happy person with a bill of $160.00 & a 2 hour wait well we ordered 3 large chicken fingers, 2 large chicken wings 2 large pork Fried Rice.Large order of beef and large order of chicken teriyaki's. Large order boneless spare ribs Is order of scalion pancakes and a large order of beef lo-maine. And the low main was not even what I ordered. That gave me shrimp was disgusted. Got sick from it and been sick since New Year's Eve still to this day.
Walked into this place not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. Went here on a dinner date spur of the moment on the weekend. The atmosphere is a cool mix of Chinese and old school dive bar. it was quiet when were were there but the nice/large bar makes me think it might get exciting on the evening weekends. The staff were super friendly and attentive. We splurged and got fun bar drinks, the Head hunter, which came in a large fake coconut and the Lucky kitty that came in a big ceramic looking cat. I preferred the Lucky Kitty. The food was overall really good. They had the best crab Rangoon's I've had in the area and it came in a large portion. The shrimp dumplings were very good as well. The beef fried rice was really good and came in a big portion. The sweet and sour pork was my least favorite thing we got (it was the bready kind and cut in long strips), and the sauce was too sour for me. It wasn't bad, I just would not order it again. Would for sure come here again and try more things!
I ordered House Fried Rice and asked to make it white and no beansprouts. They got the order right! Easy online ordering through their website and easy ApplePay option. Only complaint is the food was not ready when I got there and they were not that busy. Some of the other things people were ordering at the full bar looked really good.
