About The Buffet

While the platform category is listed as "Chinese Restaurant," The Buffet, located at 3300 W Beach Blvd, Gulfport, MS 39501, USA, offers a diverse range of cuisines in a buffet setting. You can reach them at phone number (228) 314-2100 or mobile phone +1 228-314-2100.

Based on recent customer reviews, The Buffet offers a mixed experience. For a New Year's Day buffet, some items were highly praised, including the boiled shrimp, beef steak, turkey, cake desserts, funnel cake, gelato, cranberry sauce, hopping John, corn on the cob, cabbage, sliced potatoes, shrimp salad, crab salad, and Caesar salad. These were noted for their good quality and taste.

However, other dishes received criticism. The mashed potatoes and a particular batch of cabbage were described as wimpy. The sweet potatoes had an unusual taste, and the Italian green beans were overcooked and limp. The flank steak lacked flavor, the potato salad contained sweet pickles, and the pickled beets were too sweet. The pizza was considered just okay, and the ham was too salty, although it would have been tasty otherwise. One reviewer felt the overall food quality merited a 3-star rating, suggesting potential for improvement.

Despite the mixed feedback on the food, the atmosphere was noted as very good, especially considering the restaurant was full. The service received positive remarks, being described as very good, friendly, and attentive. Additionally, the bathrooms were reported to be very clean and well-maintained.

One reviewer mentioned that while the buffet was mediocre, it was better than others on the Mississippi coast. They found the roast beef to be tough, even with a steak knife, and the fried chicken unappetizing. The buffet offered a standard array of Italian, Southern, and Oriental dishes, with a wider selection than some other casino buffets. However, the salad bar was described as small and unappealing. The peel-and-eat shrimp quality was inconsistent, with some being good and the majority mushy. Notably, crab legs were not available. This reviewer indicated it was a "one and done" experience for them, and their husband also was not impressed with his meal.

Overall, The Buffet offers a wide variety of food options and is appreciated for its atmosphere and service. However, the food quality appears to be inconsistent, with some dishes receiving high praise while others are considered lacking. Potential customers may find enough good options to enjoy, but should be aware of the varying quality reported in customer reviews.

Three of us came just for the New Years Day buffet because we heard it was great. It was okay. Some things were really good like the boiled shrimp, beef steak, turkey, cake desserts, funnel cake, Gelato, cranberry sauce were on spot. The hopping John was awesome. The corn on the cob was good, as was the cabbage, & sliced potatoes. The shrimp salad, crab salad and Cesar salad were great. But other items were lacking- mashed potatoes, the cabbage was wimpy, the sweet potatoes had a weird taste,, the Italian green beans were over cooked and limp, the flank steak lacked in flavor, the potato salad used sweet pickles, the pickled beets were too sweet. The pizza was just okay. The ham was over salted but otherwise would have been tasty. So food gets 3 star s because a place like this can do much better! There was a very good atmosphere considering the full house of patrons. We had very good, friendly, attentive service. The bathrooms were very clean and kept up. There were enough good items to come back and enjoy!

Would be much better if built in non-smoking building. Buffet mediocre but better than others on the Mississippi coast. Roast beef looked good until trying to eat it. Had to ask for a steak knife but too tough for it. Gave up. Turkey was good. Fried chicken didn't look appetizing so didn't even try. Standard buffet food array covering Italian, Southern, oriental etc. They did have more food category items than some other casino buffets. Their salad bar was small and unappealing. Wanted peel and eat 'em shrimp. A few were good but majority were mushy. No crab legs. This is a one and done place for me. Husband had different items than me and was not impressed. He didn't even eat much. Thought he got a pumpkin pie but wasn't sure what it was when eating it. Whipped cream better. Sad.

The food was midly warm and mediocre. The waitress was good and came by several times. The booth seats need to be replaced badly. My seat sank to the wood, and the springs were very uncomfortable.

First and foremost, this is the best buffet on the Gulf Coast. It is large, reasonably priced, and tons of seating. Highly efficient. Breakfast is amazing. I believe $12.99 for more food than you can even try, including eggs to order. My favorite items are the breakfast rice, hashbrown hush puppies and the deep fried shrimp and grits balls. Oh, and bacon. You can't forget the bacon! While not our traditional fare, we ate the buffet on Christmas. Lots of options to include turkey, steamship round, gumbo, and even a crawfish bisque. Dessert options are always abundant, but I never save room. Christmas meal was $29.99 per person and worth every penny. Great place to eat with a little something for everybody....everybody over 21 years old. The entire property is 21+.
