About The Big Wok

The Big Wok, a Chinese Restaurant located at 3450 E McKinney St in Denton, Texas, offers local users a convenient option for enjoying Chinese cuisine. With a listed phone number of (940) 435-0692 and a mobile contact at +1 940-435-0692, The Big Wok provides takeout service, including a drive-thru option, catering to individuals and families looking for a quick and easy meal. Based on the limited customer reviews available online, experiences appear to vary, highlighting the importance of considering different perspectives when deciding on a dining establishment.

One customer shared a highly negative experience, describing the food received as "absolutely shameful." The review included a claim of receiving a meal that appeared to be significantly under-portioned, especially considering an additional charge for extra chicken and a specific request to omit onions. This customer reported paying around $12 for the dish and asserted that it was received in the pictured state without any prior consumption. This feedback raises concerns about potential inconsistencies in food preparation and portion control at The Big Wok. Such an experience can understandably lead to significant dissatisfaction and may deter potential customers.

In contrast, another customer had a decidedly positive experience at The Big Wok. This reviewer mentioned driving by the location several times and finally deciding to try it out via the drive-thru. Their order consisted of two plates of shrimp fried rice and two egg rolls. This customer was particularly impressed with the generous portion sizes, describing the servings as "very plentiful." Furthermore, they praised the flavor of the food, noting it as a significant "plus." The freshness of the food was also highlighted, with the reviewer mentioning that the plates remained hot even after a delay in returning home. This positive experience led the customer and their family to thoroughly enjoy their meal, and the reviewer expressed exceeding gladness in choosing The Big Wok for dinner, even giving a commendation to the staff for their service.

The stark contrast between these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of The Big Wok based solely on this limited information. It suggests that the restaurant may have inconsistencies in its food quality or preparation, or perhaps there were specific circumstances that led to the negative experience reported by one customer. It's also possible that the positive review reflects a particularly good day or a satisfying experience with specific menu items.

Given that these are the only two publicly available reviews provided, there is a lack of information regarding other aspects of The Big Wok. Details about the restaurant's environment, such as its interior decor or ambiance, are not mentioned. Similarly, there is no information about the range of services offered beyond takeout and the drive-thru. The full menu and the variety of dishes available are also unknown. Furthermore, there is no mention of any special features that might distinguish The Big Wok from other Chinese restaurants in the area, such as unique dishes, special cooking techniques, or a particular culinary focus.

Promotional information is also entirely absent in the provided text. There is no mention of any ongoing discounts, special offers, loyalty programs, or seasonal promotions that The Big Wok might be running to attract customers. Without such details, it's difficult for potential local users to assess the value proposition of dining at or ordering from this establishment.

As a Chinese Restaurant in Denton, Texas, The Big Wok aims to provide accessible Chinese cuisine to the local community. The availability of a drive-thru service adds a layer of convenience for customers who prefer to pick up their orders without leaving their vehicles. The menu likely includes a range of popular Chinese-American dishes, although the specifics remain unknown based on the provided information. The positive review highlighting the plentiful portions and fresh, flavorful shrimp fried rice and egg rolls suggests that these items might be strengths of the restaurant. However, the negative review concerning a poorly portioned and seemingly carelessly prepared dish indicates a potential risk of inconsistent quality.

To provide a more comprehensive introduction for local users, additional information would be necessary. This would ideally include a broader range of customer reviews to gauge overall satisfaction and identify consistent strengths and weaknesses. Details about the menu, including popular dishes and pricing, would also be beneficial. Information regarding the restaurant's operating hours, payment methods accepted, and any online ordering options could further assist potential customers. Additionally, insights into the restaurant's environment, if dine-in service is available or was previously offered, could provide a better understanding of the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, The Big Wok in Denton, TX, offers Chinese takeout with a drive-thru option. While one customer reported a very negative experience with a seemingly under-portioned and poorly prepared meal, another customer praised the generous portions, fresh taste, and flavor of the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls. This limited and contrasting feedback suggests that potential customers should approach with cautious optimism and perhaps consider trying some of the dishes that received positive mentions. Without further information regarding the menu, services, environment, and a broader range of customer experiences, it is challenging to provide a more definitive and detailed introduction to The Big Wok for local users.

Food was absolutely shameful. This is a picture of who I received my meal one night. I had to pay around $12 after asking for extra chicken and no onions. I promise you this was not half eaten first. I took it straight home without checking it and this is how it was.

When I say they did their thing, ooh baby! I had driven by this place a few times and I would tell my children that we would try it out, today was that day. I decided to go through the drive thru. I ordered and I waited but when I tell you “it was worth the wait”, please believe me. I ordered 2 plates of shrimp fried rice and two egg rolls, the servings were very plentiful and the flavor was definitely a plus. The food was very fresh and the plates were still very hot when I made it to my home, which I didn’t go to right away. My family and I enjoyed this meal. I’m exceedingly glad that we chose this place for dinner. To the staff at The Big Wok on McKinney street in Denton, Texas, you guys rock. From a very satisfied customer ☺️😊🍚🍤

First time dining here and we will return. We had ordered the Mongolian beef and pork in garlic sauce. Very large servings. The food was delicious.

I walked in and placed an order to go. My first order here. I literally live 10 minutes walk from here. So, I watched as this place opened and waited about a week to check it out. Clean, friendly and inviting (good first impression). The menu is similar to other places so it is not unique but it smells good, tastes good and looks good. I ordered the spicy seafood noodles and a shrimp egg roll, there is spice, but my palette can handle extreme heat so I didn't think it really spicy, but the flavor is there ( winner in my book) and you can taste the flavor without it being masked. My mom came with me so she had here "mommy radar" on and she observed as much as she could through the little window and liked what she saw. My mom ordered fries rice with mixed meat, hot and sour soup and a shrimp roll. Soup was her favorite and different in flavor and spicy. Overall, they are all right. I recommend them and will go back and try another dish.
