Thai Town of Dunedin

I recently dined at Thai Town, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional—attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout our meal. Now, let’s talk about the food. The Snapper Basil was a standout dish, perfectly cooked with vibrant flavors that highlighted the fresh ingredients. It was a delightful balance of spice and herbal notes that left us wanting more. Equally impressive was the Scallop Tom Yum Fried Rice. It was truly one of a kind, bursting with flavor and featuring tender scallops that complemented the rich, aromatic rice. The combination of the tangy Tom Yum soup elements with fried rice was a creative twist that worked wonderfully. Overall, Thai Town exceeded my expectations with its fantastic service and memorable dishes. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Thai dining experience!

Pleasantly surprised today when we stopped here for lunch in this little strip mall spot. Unusual tables made from tree trunks. Elephant themed decor. Really nice for such a small space. Friendly service. Enjoyed Thai iced teas, dumplings, fresh rice paper rolls, and a spicy green curry. Reasonable prices. Welcomed our service dog. Highly recommend.

Don't let the outside fool you. This place has excellent food, service and atmosphere! We went at lunchtime on a Monday and were very pleasantly surprised. We were seated right away by a lovely hostess. We ordered Thai tea with the request to substitute coconut cream for the dairy cream(lactose intolerant), they had no problem with our request and it was so good! We also ordered the veggie sushi roll and pineapple curry. The sushi roll was quite large and very good. I had the pineapple curry with vegetables and my daughter had the same except with pork. Both were excellent and came with a small bowl of soup and a generous serving of jasmine rice! The portions were so large that we had to get to-go containers. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Amazing food, awesome service, chill atmosphere :) Loved the veggie roll sushi and pineapple curry (mine was mild with pork)! They went above and beyond in accommodating our needs! Me and my mom are both severely lactose intolerant, so we asked if they could use coconut cream instead of regular dairy cream for our Thai teas, and they did! Tasted amazing :)

So my husband and I went here and it was definitely a hidden treasure! The outside looks a little scary to be frank so maybe they should put out some thai themed decorations and plants maybe a bench. The food was some of the best Thai I have had. They even give you a little spice tray with different spice options. Just a heads up though, their food is actually spicy but we love spice. So spicy and flavorful. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was very nice. The prices were alot better than any others in the area too.
