Thai Recipe Bistro

Checked out Thai Recipe Bistro last night, and even after all these years, it remains one of my favorite spots for Thai food in Phoenix. The menu has shifted a bit over time, but the flavor? Still absolutely on point. My friend and I shared the orange chicken and the pad see ew, along with some edamame to start. Everything was delicious—the kind of comfort food that hits just right. And the portions? Massive. Easily could’ve fed three or four people, no problem. The atmosphere is very casual—no frills, just solid food and friendly service. If you’re looking for a low-key place with consistently great Thai dishes, this is it. I’ll definitely be back (again and again).

First time here. Tip: when you walk in you have to write yourself on waitlist, they don’t do it for you. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated. It was very busy and the employees were doing their best to serve food. They even have a robot delivering food. Crab puffs were good and the sweet chili sauce was very light. The yellow curry was thick and sweet. I got mine with beef and it was super tender. My husband got the pineapple fried rice with seafood. It was very seasoned and the seafood was marinated well. Thai tea was awesome and my husband got a drink called the watermelon jolly rancher.

This is my first time at Thai Recipe Bistro. We were seated right away. The menu was new to us, so we asked for extra time. I believe that upset our server because someone else came to take our order. We asked some clarification questions, and then we ordered. We also asked for separate checks. Our food came, and I truly enjoyed the wonderful flavors. There was a lot of food, so I waited for the server to come by to ask for a To Go plate. The server ignored our table and asked another table if their food was "OK." My friend went and took his own containers for us to use. Still nobody came buy with any bills. Finally, a third server came and asked if we needed to pay. They gave us the TOTAL bill. We advised it was separate. They excuse themselves, and our FIRST server came by with 3 bills and mints. I advised that no one seems to care if we pay the bill or not. He said, "We are very busy." I let him know that is no excuse.

The best yellow curry I’ve had in Phoenix! Saw they had some amazing reviews so I checked them out for lunch. Everything was nice and hot! Service was fast even tho they were in their lunch rush. The yellow curry is so flavorful and at level 4 spicy, it packs a nice punch! The crab puffs were hot and crunchy 😋 definitely bringing my fiancé here next time.
