About Thai Lanna

Customer reviews for Thai Lanna present contrasting opinions. One reviewer enthusiastically proclaimed it the best Thai restaurant in Houston, and possibly the world, praising the owner as an amazing chef and person. This customer mentioned being a regular for five years and intending to continue visiting.

However, another customer had a more mixed experience. They found the coconut soup to be good but were disappointed with their Pad Thai, noting that it lacked any spice, suggesting that pepper might have been omitted. This reviewer felt that while a remedy might have been possible for a dine-in experience, it was not ideal for takeout.

Based on these reviews, Thai Lanna seems to have a dedicated following who highly praise the food and the owner. However, there is also a report of inconsistency in spice levels for certain dishes, particularly for takeout orders. If you are looking for a Thai restaurant in Houston, Thai Lanna offers a local option with varying recent customer experiences regarding their dishes.

The best Thai restaurant in Houston, and maybe the world! The owner is an amazing chef, and an even more amazing person! Been eating here regularly for 5 years and will keep coming back.

Coconut soup was good, but my Pad Thai had NO SPICE! I'm not saying it wasn't spicy enough for me, I'm saying it taste like they forgot to add pepper. There may have been a remedy if I was eating-in, but this is definitely not the place for take out

I've been coming here my whole life and it has gone through a bunch of different names/owners. One of my favorite memories as a kid is playing sick and going to their lunch buffet with my mom. This place feels like your Thai grandma invited you over and is cooking you a meal. It is comfort, love, and spice. Thai Lanna is always the best Thai restaurant in Houston. The tofu spring rolls, Tom yum shrimp, Panang curry, pad se ew, and shrimp and pineapple fried rice are some of my favorite meals. Please be patient because this restaurant is usually ran by the cook (yes, she will seat you, serve you, and cook for you. All while taking phone orders). But it is a home cooked Thai meal. I will be sad if this establishment ever leaves!!! Please go!!

Thai Lanna Authentic Thai has delicious food and it fills you up. This is my new favorite Thai Restaurant near where I work. I got the sweet and sour shrimp with rice. About 8 jumbo fried shrimp with vegetables ranging from mushrooms to broccoli in a nice thin sauce. The food came quickly and is still hot from cooking. They have curries, soups, fish, beef, and other food in the menu. Having been to Thailand, this food is authentic.

Very good food with a very friendly staff! It’s a small little restaurant tucked away, but it has big flavor for a good price. This was my first visit and I only tried the lunch special Crispy Ginger Chicken, but it was very good. I lived in Thailand for 4 years and I would say that this is an American play on a Thai dish, however, it had all of the authentic flavors. The other items I saw coming out looked more classic. I wish the egg roll was a traditional Thai spring roll (small and fried with glass noodles in it). The egg roll was still very tasty. I plan to try more dishes next time I’m back, which will be soon!
