While the platform category is listed as Chinese Restaurant, Texas Corral appears to be primarily a steakhouse and American cuisine restaurant with a bar. Customers have generally praised the food, with mentions of "very good" food, deliciously cooked steak, huge and delicious baked potatoes, and tasty buns. The atmosphere is also described as "nice," with one reviewer noting unique salt and pepper shakers made from Corona bottles.

The establishment offers ample parking and various seating options, including several booths and seating at the bar. The wait staff is described by one reviewer as "friendly and efficient." The food is noted for being fresh, hot, and delicious, with "enormous" portions at a fair price. The alcoholic drinks are also mentioned as "refreshing."

Accessibility is a feature, with handicapped accessible entry and seating available. Cleanliness is also highlighted as a significant positive aspect by one customer, who stated they would eat there again.

However, one reviewer did express a negative experience regarding the waitresses' behavior, alleging that while they were nice to customers' faces, they engaged in talking about and laughing at patrons behind their backs, particularly noting instances related to appearance (nose ring, tattoos) and interracial couples who didn't fit the "local" look.

In summary, Texas Corral in Portage offers a bar and restaurant setting with generally well-received food and a pleasant atmosphere. It features ample parking, various seating options, friendly and efficient service (according to one review), fresh and generously portioned food at reasonable prices, refreshing drinks, and accessibility. However, potential local users should be aware of the negative feedback regarding some waitresses' unprofessional behavior towards certain customers.

The food was very good. The atmosphere was nice.Like the salt and pepper, her shaker wete Corona Bottom, the steak was cooked deliciously.Baked potato was huge and delicious. The buns were delicious, too. The only negative thing I had to say The waitress were nice to your face , but they all talk behind your back And come out to look at you and laugh and talk about your nose ring or tattoos or happen to be iteracial couple and not look like the Local locals.

There is ample parking. There are several booths, as well as the bar, for seating. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The portions were enormous! Pricing is fair. The alcoholic drinks are refreshing. Handicapped accessible entry and seating. Most important, this restaurant is clean! I will eat here again.

Let's start with the sweet tea. It was truly sweet as tea should be and came in quart Ball/Mason jars! All of the Texas style steak houses start out with some type of roll. Theirs was just ok, but I really liked that they gave us regular and cinnamon butter. Nice touch. I ordered dumpling soup and it was fantastic! Next I ordered a T-bone steak extra well. Most places don't know how to do this and either undercook it or burn it. They not only got it right the 1st time but checked with me to be certain it was cooked correctly. Bonus! Unfortunately it was flavorless but I used their spicy ketchup for steak sauce. Finally I had the chocolate cake. It was so huge 2 of us ate on it...twice, before we could finish it. Overall a good experience.

Well. This is a sad review. Because I used to absolutely love this place. My family and I would come here all the time as a kid. Recently however, it has absolutely changed. -Get here at 6pm, which should be peak dinner time, and it’s COMPLETELY empty but maybe 3 other tables. Red flag.🚩 -Get seated and our waiter gets our drink order, or so we thought, she had to come back twice to make sure she remembered it right? Red Flag.🚩 -We got ONE basket of bread that had one tiny roll and another medium sized roll, and was told we would get more since there was more than 2 people at our table, we never got any more bread. Red flag 🚩 -We look over the menu and holy cow, the prices? For the quality? Red Flag 🚩 -We take our order, and the waitress AGAIN had to ask us twice if she got her notes right about prior order. I’d swear she was new but she said she wasn’t soooo? Red flag🚩 -Food wasn’t good. Maybe a 4/10. The Texas nachos were basically concession stand nachos for $11.99 which is criminal which didn’t have most of the included ingredients that were listed to be on it. Red flag 🚩 -Over $3 almost $4 for a pop is literally insane? Red flag. 🚩 -our waitress came 4 times. Once to get our drinks, 2nd to put down our drinks to take our order, 3rd to give us our order, and 4th to give us a check. Nothing in between. Red flag 🚩 It’s so sad to say that we won’t be back. And encourage others to go somewhere else. The prices aren’t worth it for the quality and service you get.
