About Teriyaki Wok

Welcome to the detailed introduction of Teriyaki Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 1160 Old W Liberty St # 2 # 2, Sumter, SC 29150, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Teriyaki Wok aims to provide a variety of Chinese and potentially some Japanese-inspired dishes, as suggested by its name. This introduction seeks to offer an objective overview of the restaurant's environment, services, features, and perceived value based on recent customer reviews available online.

Teriyaki Wok can be contacted via telephone at (803) 773-8722 or through their mobile number, +1 803-773-8722. These contact details are useful for customers wishing to place takeout orders, inquire about their menu, or get information about dining in.

Customer reviews for Teriyaki Wok present a somewhat mixed picture, with positive feedback on certain aspects countered by criticisms on others. One reviewer had a very positive experience, highlighting the "PLENTY" serving sizes and the tasty food, noting that no extra sauce was needed. Their order included lemon pepper wings, pork lo mein (described as "HUGE"), ham fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken. This reviewer also praised the "awesome" price, suggesting good value for money.

In contrast, another reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the Lo Mein and rice, ranking them poorly compared to competitors' shrimp versions. They also recounted a confusing interaction regarding brown rice, which was not on the menu. They were told that white rice could be fried with soy sauce to turn it brown, which they were also warned would make it too salty. This suggests a potential inflexibility or unusual approach to customer requests and raises concerns about the flavor of their rice dishes.

A third reviewer had a more nuanced experience. They found the flavors of the Spicy Mongolian Beef with fried rice to be great together. While they also noted that the rice was too salty, they found that adding just enough improved the flavor of the dish. They also commented positively on the taste of the shrimp in the Shrimp Lo Mein. This review indicates that while some dishes might have appealing flavors, consistency in preparation, particularly regarding saltiness of the rice, could be an issue.

Despite the mixed feedback on the food itself, the third reviewer did offer a positive note regarding the service, describing it as "excellent," and also mentioned that parking is free, which is a significant convenience for dine-in customers.

  • Inconsistent Rice Quality: Multiple reviewers mentioned issues with the rice, with one finding it inferior to competitors and another noting it was too salty, albeit salvageable in combination with the Spicy Mongolian Beef. This suggests a lack of consistency or a flavor profile for the rice that may not appeal to all palates.
  • Unusual Approach to Dietary Requests: The confusing explanation regarding brown rice suggests a potential lack of flexibility or understanding of common dietary options.
  • Excellent Service: Despite some issues with the food, one reviewer specifically praised the service as "excellent," indicating that the staff may be friendly and efficient.

The serving size is PLENTY and the food is tasty. No extra sauce needed. We got the lemon pepper wings, pork lo mein which was HUGE, ham fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. The price is awesome too!

Teriyaki Wok's Lo Mein and the rice are very close to last place compared to their competitors' Shrimp Lo Mein and rice dishes. I asked for brown rice which is not on the menu but I am told that although brown rice is not a choice the white rice could be fried with soy sauce and that would turn it brown and is also what makes it too salty. Huh?!!!😳🀣 Needless to say... The flavors tasted great together on the Spicy Mongolian Beef/fried rice and even though the rice was too salty I added just enough to improve the flavor of the dish! The shrimp that were in the Shrimp Lo Mein were very tasty too!πŸ˜‹ Otherwise the service is excellent and parking is free!

First time visiting. I wanted brown rice but it was not on the menu, however it was suggested that the soy sauce could be added to the white rice to turn it brownπŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚ Needless to say fast forward, I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and Mongolian Beef w/white rice fried with onion, egg, and soy sauce. The shrimp was the most flavorful in the Lo Mein, nicely seasoned. The Lo Mein by itself has a bland taste. The Mongolian Beef is excellent I added extra onions at no charge! I am pleasantly surprised that it has a spicy delightful flavor that hit my taste buds just right, and although the rice was too salty for my palate I managed to combine just the right amount for a great food experience! The service is impeccable although limited in knowledge of what brown rice actually is!🀣 I could not have had a better experience. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of parking. Call or walk-in the next time you want a unique experience.

A favorite over the years with consistently great tasting food. Tried the hot teriyaki wings for the first time and they are now a favorite. Service is great but typically have to wait even if ordered in advance.

Came in on July 25th, was not greeted with respect, which was surprising. Usually when you come in the receptionist is nice and inviting. She had an attitude with everyone that came to the desk. If the young woman does not want to work I encourage the owners to not force her hand; it was clear she hates her job. Food is still good!
