About Teriyaki Chef

Welcome to Teriyaki Chef, a Chinese restaurant located at 474 Red Bud Rd NE in Calhoun, Georgia. As part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Teriyaki Chef offers a range of Asian cuisine for the local community, with services including both dine-in and takeout options. Based on recent customer feedback, the restaurant presents a somewhat mixed experience, with positive remarks regarding service and certain aspects of the food, alongside concerns about consistency in food quality.

Our Environment:

According to one customer's observation, the atmosphere at Teriyaki Chef can be described as "very quiet" with only "1 table was sat" during their visit. The cleanliness of the restaurant was noted positively. However, the reviewer also used the term "ghostly," which might suggest a lack of vibrancy or a low number of patrons at the time of their visit. This could be interpreted in different ways – some might appreciate a quiet setting, while others might find it uninviting. Another reviewer did not comment specifically on the atmosphere.

Our Services:

Teriyaki Chef offers both dine-in and takeout services, as is typical for many Chinese restaurants. One reviewer specifically mentioned that the "lady" providing service was "nice," indicating a positive interaction with at least one staff member. Another reviewer consistently reported "great service" and highlighted the owner as being "always nice and helpful," particularly in assisting with order recommendations based on preferences. This suggests that customer service can be a strong point for Teriyaki Chef, especially when interacting with the owner and potentially other staff members.

Our Features and Menu Highlights:

Customer reviews provide contrasting opinions on the food quality at Teriyaki Chef:

  • Noodles: One reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the noodles, stating that they were "definitely not how it used to be." They described the noodles as "very dry," lacking juiciness and flavor, and having a "sticky" texture. Even with extra garlic, the reviewer found the noodles to taste like "water" and concluded that the dish was "Not worth $9," leading to a decision not to return. This indicates a potential issue with the consistency or current preparation of their noodle dishes.
  • Garlic Chicken: In contrast, another reviewer consistently found the food to be "delicious" and specifically mentioned trying something different on each visit without a negative experience. While they didn't detail specific dishes beyond the "hot and sour soup," this suggests that other menu items have been satisfactory for this customer.
  • Hot and Sour Soup: The "hot and sour soup" was highlighted as "always been a great starter" by a returning customer. This indicates that this particular dish has been consistently well-received.
  • Personalized Recommendations: The owner is noted for being "always nice and helpful if you have questions" and willing to "help you decide what to order based on your preferences." This personalized service can be a significant feature for customers who are unsure about what to choose from the menu.

The limited reviews provide a snapshot of a few menu items. The negative feedback on the noodles is concerning, especially for a returning customer who had previously enjoyed them. However, the consistently positive remarks about the hot and sour soup and the overall "delicious" food experienced by another customer suggest that the quality might vary by dish or perhaps there have been recent changes affecting certain items. The owner's willingness to provide recommendations is a valuable feature that can enhance the dining experience for those new to the menu or with specific dietary needs or preferences.

Promotional Information:

The provided customer reviews do not contain any information about specific promotions, discounts, or special offers currently available at Teriyaki Chef. To inquire about any lunch specials, family deals, or other promotions, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly at their phone number, (706) 383-8039 or +1 706-383-8039. Local residents might also find information about specials on local community platforms or social media if the restaurant has an active presence there.

Overall Customer Sentiment:

The customer sentiment towards Teriyaki Chef is mixed based on the two provided reviews. One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with a specific dish (noodles) and the overall value, leading to a negative outlook on returning. On the other hand, another customer consistently reported positive experiences with the food and service, highlighting the hot and sour soup and the owner's helpfulness. This disparity suggests that the quality and experience at Teriyaki Chef might be inconsistent or that different customers have varying preferences and expectations. Potential customers should be aware of these differing viewpoints when considering dining at this establishment.

Conclusion:

Teriyaki Chef in Calhoun offers a local option for Chinese cuisine with both dine-in and takeout services. While one recent review raises concerns about the quality and flavor of the noodles, another customer consistently reports enjoying the food, particularly the hot and sour soup, and praises the great service and helpful owner. The atmosphere was described as quiet and clean, though perhaps lacking in energy during one visit. The owner's willingness to provide personalized recommendations is a notable positive aspect of their service. Given the mixed feedback, it might be prudent for potential customers to inquire about specific dishes or perhaps try some of the items that have received positive mentions, such as the hot and sour soup. For information on any current promotions or specials, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended. Teriyaki Chef presents a complex picture, with potential strengths in service and certain dishes, but possible inconsistencies in food preparation that some customers have experienced.

Food: Definitely not how it used to be. Ordered noodles only since I used to get them all the time they were always juicy and flavorful. Now. No. Very dry no juicy at all noodles very sticky no taste and i even got extra garlic. Still no taste. It had a flavor of water. There was a reason I haven’t been in over a year this just made it where I won’t be back. Not worth $9 Service: lady was nice Atmosphere: 1 table was sat. Very quite. Clean. But seems ghostly

We always receive great service. The food has always been delicious. Hot and sour soup has always been a great starter. I try to order something different every time I go. I haven’t had a bad experience. The owner is always nice and helpful if you have questions. She will help you decide what to order based on your preferences. A good place to eat lunch or dinner.

I can't give this place enough stars. The decor is quaint, the staff were so friendly and kind. And the food was sooo delicious. I love Korean food, and this was definitely homemade. So delicious. The side dishes were on point. I'll definitely be back

This place is my new to go place when I don't know exactly what I feel like eating I just end up pulling in at this place. Lunch portions are large too and are affordable like around $7.75+ and it comes with soup and egg roll as well. Magnolian beef was very delicious the meat melting in my mouth. I had quit a few dishes from there. Wings were also something I enjoyed usually people cook it a bit hard but this place had soft juicy ones. I have few Korean dishes too like bibimbap and ramen and also stir fried squid which was a bit spicy but you can to ask to get mild or medium spice also all the Korean dishes comes with variety of sides like cucumbers and reddish and sometime sardines or fish cake which is always a plus when ordering from Korean menu. Shrimp Fried rice was good too but must try Mongolian. Teriyaki was not my favorite as much.

Super tasty! Their Hunan Chicken is on point! Great service and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The portions were huge and very reasonably priced. Best hot and sour soup I've ever eaten - just a touch of spiciness... Fat n Happy!
