About Tensuke Market and Food Court

Tensuke Market and Food Court, located at 3 S Arlington Heights Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, USA, is presented under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant." However, based on customer reviews, it is primarily a Japanese marketplace that also features a food court serving Japanese cuisine. This introduction aims to provide local users with an accurate overview of what Tensuke Market and Food Court offers.

The marketplace itself is described as a "neat little Japanese marketplace" and "homelier" compared to other Japanese and Asian supermarkets in the region, despite being small. It offers a typical selection of goods found in such stores. A notable feature is the section near the front entrance where freshly made bento meals are available daily. Customers have also reported "very friendly interactions" with the staff.

The food court, situated at the back of the marketplace, has been highlighted as a particularly pleasant experience. Customers feel they receive "a lot of value for the price," with meals typically costing no more than $15. Seating is generally easier to find here compared to the often crowded food court at Mitsuwa Marketplace, which is located nearby. This is attributed to the "hole-in-the-wall atmosphere" of Tensuke's food court.

The food served in the food court has been described as "delicious," with "generous" serving sizes, which one reviewer found unexpected for a Japanese restaurant, as they often serve smaller portions. This customer expressed a definite intention to return.

In summary, Tensuke Market and Food Court offers a unique experience combining a Japanese marketplace with a food court serving authentic Japanese cuisine. The marketplace provides a range of Japanese and Asian goods, including fresh bento meals, with friendly service. The food court stands out for its tasty food, reasonable prices, generous portions, and relatively easier seating compared to other similar establishments in the area. While categorized as a "Chinese Restaurant" on the platform, its primary offering is Japanese. No specific information regarding the environment beyond the marketplace and food court setting, detailed services beyond retail and food service, or promotional offers was available in the provided reviews. Neat little Japanese marketplace with a food court in the back, which I have eaten in on three separate occasions. The supermarket is small, but I have found it to be much homelier even as far as Japanese (and other Asian) supermarkets go in this region. Most selections are typical for other such supermarkets, and there is a section close to the front entrance where one can pick up bento meals made fresh in store that day. I have also had very friendly interactions with the staff present. As for the food court, I have found this generally to be a much more pleasant experience than to order the same food at one of the tenants of Mitsuwa Marketplace (which is roughly five minutes north on Arlington Heights Road). One gets a lot of value for the price over in this establishment (typically no more than 15 bucks a meal), and I have never had a problem locating seating in this establishment (compared to Mitsuwa's food court, which is at capacity most of the time during peak meal time). This is likely due to the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere that this place conveys.

The food was delicious. The price was reasonable and the serving size was generous, which was unexpected for a Japanese restaurant, as they typically serve small portions. I will definitely return.

Such a cute little grocery store with a wonderful mini food court in the back. Their udon was very flavorful and sushi was great as well! Prices were very reasonable.

This market was a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city! We spent a good two hours here, browsing the stalls and enjoying a delicious lunch. My husband, a huge fan of these markets, and declared this his favorite market yet for sushi - the fish was incredibly fresh and the sushi was melt-in-your-mouth amazing! Everyone we met at the market was so friendly and welcoming. It had such a wonderful down-to-earth atmosphere, a stark contrast to the city shops. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this market to anyone looking for fresh food, friendly faces, and a relaxing shopping experience!

I don’t know where to beginning… Tensuke is a market/grocery shop as well as a food court Before covid, the food court used to be very small probably only 10 tables but after they remodeled now can hold around 30 tables Food, super affordable and fresh(thanks to being in a grocery shop lol).  I normally order two order of the sushi deluxe which has 8 piece of sushi for $11.95; YES that is like $1.5 per sushi and the salmon is not even small lol I also like their Unaju, grilled eel over steam rice $12.95; a lot of eel!  Everything they have is over sized for a very reasonable price! We also like their grilled salmon set for $11.50 Their rice is actually sticky, unlike kura lol Miso soup is all you can drink If you order a meal, it comes with a choice of salad, drink, gyoza or edamame
