About Teng Dragon
Located at 2260 1st Ave #1 in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City, NY 10035, USA, Teng Dragon is a Chinese restaurant that has garnered positive attention, particularly for its service and the quality of its takeout offerings. As a Chinese Restaurant, Teng Dragon provides a range of Chinese cuisine, primarily focusing on takeout and delivery services, as indicated by the customer reviews. They can be contacted at (212) 426-3906 or via their mobile number +1 212-426-3906.
One customer shared a detailed account of switching to Teng Dragon after a negative experience with a neighboring restaurant. This reviewer emphasized the "Excellent Service at Teng Dragon," describing it as a "Major Improvement." The negative comparison highlighted issues with an angry delivery person from another establishment, noting unprofessional behavior, poor work ethic (using a regular bike for deliveries), and a lack of respect for customers' time. In contrast, the experience with Teng Dragon was described as a complete turnaround, with fair treatment, reliable service, and professional staff. This strong endorsement suggests that Teng Dragon places a high value on customer service and ensures a positive interaction for those ordering from them.
The reviewer further elaborated on the importance of respectful service, painting a vivid picture of the frustration caused by a rude delivery person versus the positive experience of being treated with respect and efficiency. This narrative underscores that Teng Dragon's commitment to good service extends to their delivery operations, ensuring that customers receive their food promptly and are treated courteously.
Beyond the exceptional service, Teng Dragon's food has also received positive feedback. One customer specifically praised the "Super pork fried 🤤 rice," describing it as "Loved it," "Enormous portion," and "Mouth watering." This enthusiastic review indicates that at least one of their signature dishes is highly satisfying, both in terms of taste and quantity. The mention of an "enormous portion" suggests that Teng Dragon offers generous servings, providing good value for money, especially in the context of Manhattan where portion sizes can sometimes be smaller and prices higher.
Adding to the positive experience, the same reviewer noted that they received a discount on drinks, which they found to be "Very unlikely in Manhattan." This unexpected gesture of goodwill further highlights the friendly and customer-oriented approach of Teng Dragon. The reviewer concluded by describing the staff as "Very friendly," reinforcing the theme of excellent customer service.
Another brief but positive review recommends Teng Dragon to those looking for "good taste Chinese takeout in Manhattan," stating, "Try their menu. You won't be disappointed." This general endorsement suggests that the overall quality and taste of Teng Dragon's menu offerings are well-received by their customers.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Teng Dragon is not explicitly described, but the focus on takeout and delivery suggests that their physical space might be more functional and geared towards efficient order preparation rather than elaborate dine-in ambiance. However, the positive comments about the friendly staff imply a welcoming atmosphere for customers who might pick up their orders in person.
The services offered by Teng Dragon clearly include takeout and delivery, with a strong emphasis on providing reliable and respectful service in both aspects. The positive feedback on delivery, especially in contrast to a competitor, indicates that Teng Dragon prioritizes a smooth and courteous delivery experience. The friendly staff mentioned by multiple reviewers suggests that customer interactions, whether in person or over the phone, are handled professionally and with a positive attitude.
Key features of Teng Dragon appear to be their commitment to excellent customer service, generous portion sizes (as noted with the pork fried rice), and potentially delicious and satisfying food, as suggested by the positive reviews of their menu. The unexpected discount on drinks also indicates a customer-friendly approach that goes above and beyond standard service.
The provided information does not explicitly mention any ongoing promotional offers at Teng Dragon, aside from the individual customer receiving a discount on drinks. However, the positive experience with the lunch special from the neighboring restaurant (despite the service issues) suggests that Chinese restaurants in the area, including Teng Dragon, might offer lunch specials or other deals. Local users interested in potential promotions at Teng Dragon are advised to inquire directly with the restaurant via phone or when placing an order.
In conclusion, Teng Dragon at 2260 1st Ave #1 in Manhattan stands out for its excellent customer service, particularly in its delivery operations. Customers have praised the respectful and reliable service, a significant improvement over some competitors. The food, especially the super pork fried rice, is described as delicious and offered in generous portions. The friendly staff and even small gestures like drink discounts contribute to a positive customer experience. While details about the restaurant's environment are limited, the focus on takeout and delivery with exceptional service and tasty food makes Teng Dragon a highly recommended option for those seeking Chinese cuisine in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Local users looking for a reliable and friendly Chinese takeout experience with satisfying food should consider trying Teng Dragon.

Customer Reviews
Excellent Service at Teng Dragon A Major Improvement! I started coming to Teng Dragon after having a bad experience with the restaurant across the street, Good Taste. The delivery person there was always angry and seemed to make his job harder by using a regular bike instead of an e-bike. He would take out his frustration on customers who didn’t come down immediately when he called, yet when he was late, it was never an issue. His behavior made me wonder about his home life, as he seemed to carry his anger beyond just work. I understand that Chinese culture values discipline and hard work, but his attitude went beyond strictness—it felt personal. At times, I even got the sense that he was jealous of me simply for being friendly with his wife and engaging in conversation while learning the language. When he tried to argue and justify his poor work ethic, especially in handling deliveries, I knew it was time for a change. That’s when I switched to Teng Dragon, and the difference has been night and day. Here, I’m treated fairly, the service is reliable, and the staff is always professional. I highly recommend Teng Dragon over Good Taste for anyone looking for great food and respectful service! Why This Matters: A Powerful Example Imagine this: You’ve had a long day at work, and all you want is a hot meal delivered to your door. You place an order, expecting a smooth experience, but instead, the delivery person arrives in a foul mood. He aggressively calls you to come downstairs immediately, and when you take a minute longer than he likes, he lashes out, complaining as if you’ve done something wrong. Now, flip the scenario. Suppose the roles are reversed he’s late with your food. But when you express frustration, he shrugs it off, showing zero accountability. This imbalance in treatment isn’t just unprofessional it’s a red flag. It reflects a deeper issue: a lack of respect for customers and an inability to handle the pressures of the job properly now imagine us doing that in his country wouldn’t go well obviously. In contrast, when you switch to a restaurant like Teng Dragon, the experience is entirely different. The staff treats you with respect, values your time, and ensures your order arrives promptly and professionally. You don’t have to deal with hostility or one-sided expectations. Instead, you get what you paid for good food and good service. This scenario highlights why choosing where you spend your money matters. Supporting businesses that value their customers creates a better experience for everyone, while refusing to tolerate poor service holds businesses accountable. Respect should always go both ways, and no one should have to deal with unnecessary hostility when all they want is a meal we all have bad days we can’t take it out on eachother.
Super pork fried 🤤 rice. Loved it. Enormous portion. Mouth watering. They gave me discount on drinks. Very unlikely in Manhattan.Very friendly. If you love to have good taste Chinese takeout in Manhattan. Try their menu. You won't be disappointed.
Food is great I love it here this the best Chinese spot inna block ,,…you guys usually fast quick always hook it up already know my address but today you guys took super long and my food came cold imma come in and get a Bev For FREE 😉thank you I’ll keep coming back ……
Whenever I order food from here, it’s rare I’ve been disappointed. BUT over the years, the owner has changed how orders over the phone are made. Now an outside company takes the orders over the phone and you can tell some of these reps don’t understand English completely or simply don’t understand what you want to order. It’s also happened a couple of times where they say I have to spend $15 or more over the phone for debit card transactions but then the workers at the actual location simply say that they have to add on a tax charge for using the card so in reality it’s only $1 and change added on to whatever your order’s fee is. I think the owner has to really explain to this phone company the rules and regulations and also just go back to the actual staff at the location taking the calls. I remember before this whole phone company took over the orders for this spot, ordering on the phone was way better and easier because the staff already knows what the people in this neighborhood like. Now if I ask a simple request such as adding a sauce to my chicken, the phone company reps tell me I have to do that myself…which can come off rude, considering if I’m paying for my food and request a simple extra step, just charge me for the effort of wanting my food cooked a certain way…. My family personally knows the owner - I haven’t seen him in a loooong time but if I do anytime soon I would love to tell him as a customer, I think these new changes just aren’t working. Overall the food is usually cooked very well compared to other spots and has a lot of flavor. This place gets packed and super busy on certain days too. Sometimes ordering earlier is better in terms of delivery timing and also avoiding your food having spills, since later hours is when everyone is ordering - especially on weekends.
The wait wasn’t long, decent prices, I have a cold but my mixed egg drop soup wasn’t right, the eggs here has dark spots on some, why?
