About Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle

Located at 215 E 3rd Ave in San Mateo, California, Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle offers a unique culinary experience within the "Chinese Restaurant" category. Specializing in the regional cuisine of Yunnan province in China, this establishment provides local users with an opportunity to explore the distinctive flavors of Yunnan rice noodles. With contact numbers (650) 315-2316 and +1 650-315-2316, Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle presents a departure from more common styles of Chinese cuisine, focusing on light and wholesome noodle dishes.

The environment of Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle, while not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, appears to foster an authentic dining experience. One reviewer noted that "pretty much all ‘locals’" were dining there, suggesting that the restaurant has gained recognition within the community for its genuine representation of Yunnan cuisine. This can often indicate a no-frills atmosphere where the emphasis is placed squarely on the food itself.

The primary offering at Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle is, as the name suggests, Yunnan rice noodles. This dish is characterized by its delicate rice noodles served in a flavorful broth with various toppings. According to customer feedback, the broths are a highlight, with one reviewer stating, "I also liked all broths," indicating a variety of options that cater to different preferences. The available toppings mentioned include fish, beef, and pork, providing diners with a choice of protein to accompany their noodles.

A notable characteristic of the Yunnan rice noodle dish served here is its temperature. One reviewer mentioned that "the soup comes up while still boiling!" and that "it stays hot for quite a while," advising diners not to expect to "scarf this down." This suggests that the dish is served piping hot, contributing to a comforting and hearty meal, particularly on a cooler day. It also implies that the preparation and serving methods are designed to retain heat.

Interestingly, one reviewer offered a perspective on the flavor profile of the dish, commenting that "some are commenting about the lack of flavour and that's true!" However, they followed this by stating that "you don't come to a rice noodle place looking for a flavour punch. You're just looking for a light and wholesome bowl of noodles. And that it is!" This suggests that Yunnan rice noodles, at least as prepared at Ten Seconds, offer a more subtle and nourishing experience rather than an intense burst of flavor. This distinction is important for potential customers to understand their expectations.

In terms of service, one reviewer noted that it was "fairly quick," which is a positive aspect for those looking for an efficient dining experience, especially during lunch hours or when time is a constraint. Another reviewer simply stated, "Nothing to complain about. Had a relaxing and good meal," indicating an overall satisfactory experience.

One reviewer shared a personal anecdote of having tried Yunnan rice noodles previously at Kunming airport, highlighting that Ten Seconds offers a "nice change up if you’re in the mood for noodles." This suggests that the restaurant provides a relatively authentic version of a dish that may be unfamiliar to many local diners, offering a taste of a specific regional Chinese culinary tradition.

Given the focus on a specific regional dish, the menu at Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle likely revolves around variations of the classic Yunnan rice noodle soup with different broths and toppings. There may also be a limited selection of side dishes or appetizers typical of Yunnan cuisine, though the reviews do not provide specific details on these. To get a comprehensive understanding of the menu and any other offerings, contacting the restaurant directly would be beneficial.

No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in trying Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle may want to inquire about any specials or introductory offers when they call or visit the restaurant.

In summary, Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle in San Mateo offers a unique "Chinese Restaurant" experience by specializing in the light and wholesome flavors of Yunnan rice noodles. The restaurant appears to be a local favorite, serving authentic dishes with flavorful broths and various protein options. The dish is served hot and is appreciated for its comforting qualities. While the flavor profile may be more subtle than some other Chinese cuisines, it offers a distinct and satisfying noodle experience. For those in San Mateo seeking to explore beyond the familiar and try a traditional dish from the Yunnan province of China, Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle is a worthwhile destination.

It’s always fun to try something new! The only other time I had this was during a connection at Kunming airport, but it’s a nice change up if you’re in the mood for noodles. I like the fish but the beef and pork are also good. I also liked all broths. It stays hot for quite a while so don’t expect to be able to scarf this down. Pretty much all “locals” in here so you know it’s legit.

Hearty and warm bowl of noodles. The soup comes up while still boiling! The service was fairly quick as well. Some are commenting about the lack of flavour and that's true! But you don't come to a rice noodle place looking for a flavour punch. You're just looking for a light and wholesome bowl of noodles. And that it is! Nothing to complain about. Had a relaxing and good meal.

Came in at 8pm but it was still crowded. Given that it’s a new restaurant in town, it was expected. Our first time trying this type of mixing/cooking at the table. The ingredients were laid out nicely on a tray and came out first. Then, came the broth, still burning hot. After that, we started mixing everything in. There was no particular order, so you just mixed as you like but the last one should be noodles. We tried Pork Bone soup and Tomato soup. Both were very good. It’s a warm meal for a cold day. Will come again!

We came on a Wednesday night and had no problem getting seated and got served fairly quickly. I ordered the Original Bridge Crossing soup and enjoyed all of the toppings it came with. It was a warm, creamy chicken soup broth and it joined the ‘Clean Plate Club’. We also ordered the scallion pancake appetizer, which we also loved. Overall, would come back again and it’s a good casual spot. We spent around $48 before tip for 2 soups and an appetizer, which we thought is very reasonably priced for a meal in downtown San Mateo!

First time visit. It was raining and we were looking for a place to have soup for dinner. It was not busy when we arrived at around 5:30 but it was filled up fast. You order using the QR code on the table. You can also get the paper menu just for checking. There are a couple of options of noodle soup on the menu and appetizer. We ordered original crossing bridge and spicy fish noodle soup. Both came up around less than a minute after we ordered. The soup is boiling hot. The server will let you know how to mix the dishes. First is always the protien/meat and then the rest. Noodle will be last. The soup is so yummy. I like the original pork bone soup and also the spicy one. The spicy one is numbing but on lighther side which is very nice. The beef and meat are yummy. The soup was hot for a long time. It has chili crisp oil provided. One thing that is not convenient is that there is no strainer spoon provider to get the small item like corn from the soup. Overall we are satisfied with our dinner.
